The phone was still ringing when she got there. She answered immediately,

“Hello, Cathy Chester speaking.”

“This is Alexia Bachman, ”

“Are you calling to change your mind?”

” Far from it, I will send you the address and I hope we can meet this morning. I have to tell you something important.”

” Yeah…important it is.” She mocked.

Cindy couldn’t understand why she sensed anger in her sister’s voice.

Had she already found out the secrets she had been hiding? She thought.

” I don’t understand the reason for the sacarsicm, Cathy.” She had to breathe hard before calling her sister’s name. The name of her sister made her become do emotional but she had to control her feelings.

” There’s no need to discuss it over the phone. I will rather discuss it seeing you. I’m waiting for the address and don’t dare keep me waiting for so long Alexia Bachman.” She yelled before ending the call.

The sound of the call being disconnected echoed in Cindy’s ears. What was happening? What was Cathy behaving so rude to her?

Only the previous day she had begged her for just some minutes of her time and now she was granting that wish and this is how she Is behaving.

Cindy was sure, Cathy must have known one if her secrets.

Had she found out she was sleeping with her husband? She thought.

There was only one way to find out, she quickly typed the address and sent it immediately to tell. She had already gotten ready and it was the shop where she usually has coffee with Rhea. About Rhea, she still hadn’t heard anything from her.

Even Damien who she had left the previous night wasn’t there when she returned home at midnight and she hadn’t bothered to call him to check on his whereabouts.

Up till this moment, she still didn’t understand her anger with Alexia Bachman. Was is because she found out she was having an affair with her husband?

As for sleep, she hadn’t slept well, she rolled on her bed all through. Axl didn’t return home and she didn’t bother to call to know where he was.

He must have spent the night in his mistress house, she thought.

She was done with her shower and still hadn’t decided if she should have breakfast or not. As if answering her question, the door opened and Nelly entered.

” You’re up already Nelly?” Cathy asked as soon as she entered the room.

” Yes…I drank so much the previous night.”

” Why did you do that?”

” It’s your Father-in-law Cathy. He would let me be and I just had to cool down my emotions.”

” Okay just be careful Nelly, you’re not friends with alcohol.”

” How do you know that?”

” We are related, I guess it’s in our genes.”

” Stop it and please tell the maid to make me breakfast and get me some painkillers.”

“What will you want for breakfast, Madame.”

” Just get me anything Sweet, I didn’t even realize. Where are you off to .”

” Alexia Bachman called this morning requesting to see me.”

” You want me to come along with you?”

“No…it’s not necessary. I can manage on my own.”

” Are you sure about this?”

“Absolutely. Stay at home and resolve your issues with Mr. Anderson.”

She left the room immediately, and walked to Mr. Anderson’s room and knocked on the door of his room. She had realized how rude she was because of the anger she felt but it wasn’t necessary to disrespect him and he had always treated her as his own daughter.

She took a deep breath as she knocked lightly, there was no response from inside and she knocked again this time, saying something for Mr. Anderson to recognized her voice.

“It’s me, Father.”

“I’m occupied, Cathy. Come some other time.” She had heard him murmur from inside.

Cathy who has stayed for a long time with him understood what he meant, he never took it seriously. She immediately turned the door knob and it opened. The door opened revealing Mr. Anderson dressed up in a gray suit and a cup of coffee in his right hand.

“I told you not to come in, Cathy! You can’t do as you please.”

She smiled and moved forward to meet him,” I know that father, you look handsome. You have a meeting today?” She asked as she took his favorite Rolex wrist watch from the top shelf and wore it on his wrist. He didn’t protest nor did he stop her.

” Doing this won’t make me change my mind.”

” I know father, that’s why I’m here to apologize. I’m not sending any more gifts to compensate for my behavior.”

“That’s weird, so what are you trying to do?”

“Axl has a mistress father. He has been cheating on me with a cheap slut.”

“Words Cathy! Control your words. You can fight with Axl all you like but you dare not accuse him.” The cup in his hand dropped immediately, but Cathy wasn’t bothered.

“Father I was shocked when I saw it too but it was before me and I couldn’t deny the truth.”

” You mean you actually witnessed it ”

“Yes Father. Camera footage showed it. I can’t explain in detail, father but that was what prompted my ill behavior yesterday.” She explained.

“Have you seen or heard from Axl ?”

” No, although he called saying he has something to tell me but I’m not worried about it .”

They remained silent for a while not knowing what to say.

“I have to meet a friend, what should I get for you? A wrist watch or designer shoes.”

No answer…

” I will get both then Father.”

She left the room with those words, and met Nelly just at the front door.

“You’re still here?”

” Yes…just wanted to apologize. I’m leaving now.”

” Take care of yourself and call me if you need something.”
