Joanne's phone rang almost at the same time.

She glanced at the screen and saw that it was an unfamiliar number.

She hesitated and then thought it could be the crew calling. So, she put Tail back to bed and went to the balcony to answer it.

"You and your daughter got away this time, but you might not be so lucky next time."

The hoarse, subdued voice belonged to a man who she hadn't seen for a long time. Even so, she was able to recognize it immediately. She was surprised and felt a surge of anger rushing to her head.

Regardless of her image, she gritted her teeth and growled.

"Harry Atherton? You monster!"

Harry was not annoyed by her curses but chuckled. "It’s good that you're scared. Remember, keep your love child from my son. Otherwise, I don't mind making your lovely daughter a dead body."

"Don't you dare!" Joanne seethed.

"Try me. I made you disappear four years ago. I can do it again. This time, it'll be you and your daughter."

Joanne was stunned.

Harry was not afraid of things being exposed. He sneered, with a hint of the disdain of a superior.

"So, all my nightmares were caused by you. Aren't you afraid I'll tell Edwin what his father did to his wife?"

"You think I'll be scared?" Harry scoffed. "You slept with Patrick and had an illegitimate daughter. Do you really think Edwin still cares about you? He just cant stand your betrayal and wants to get back at you. He wants to make you fall in love with him and then dump you."

Joanne clutched her phone, her hand bracing against the railing.

She bit her lower lip until it turned white.

"Edwin is my son. I know him better than anyone. He can't stand even a speck of dirt in his eyes. I can give you another sum of money, enough for you to live comfortably. Even if you go to Edwin with your accusations, what do you think he'll do to me? I'm his father. We share the same blood."

Harry was right.

"Where are those people inside the ward?"

"You mean Ms. Walters and her daughter? I saw her answer a phone call earlier. Then she left in a hurry with the girl. There must have been something urgent."
