Chapter 4 He’s our beta?
Chapter 4 He’s our beta?
When I first started my relationship with Neil, I also fantasized that Neil could propose to me. I do not
need a big diamond ring, nor do I need a very grand wedding scene. As long as he can sincerely treat
me well and run our family, I would be happy.
But the reality has let me down from time to time. Neil just can't do the right things, he's a selfish
bastard.
I don't expect anything from marriage anymore now. Even when I had just rejected Neil, I was ready to
live my life alone.
But Immediately, I was proposed to by another man.
We hadn't even met for more than a day!
‘’He's your MATE, and, I can feel it, he's much better than Neil. His scent is stronger than Neil's, and
your mate bond is way much stronger. It's your new life, Violet, so say yes to him.’ My wolf Veri says.
Yes, it's just two people spending time together, and there's no worse choice than Neil anymore
anyway, is there?
"Okay." I agree decisively, "But first we have to save Kelly."
"Come home with me and I'll mindlink the family doctor right away." Ziv opens the car door for me.
"Would it be too expensive to call a family doctor?" I ask.
"I can afford that." He quickly responds.
With Ziv's help, I move the already unconscious Kelly to the back seat. And as I am just about to sit in
the passenger seat with Mia in my arms, someone yells heartbrokenly behind me.
"Bitch, get back here!"
It is Neil's voice.
What a bummer, how did he manage to get up so quickly?
I glance apologetically at Ziv, my heart secretly not wanting Ziv to know that my ex-mate was actually
such a disgusting person.
Ziv pats me on the shoulder and gives me a reassuring smile, "Just get in the car, I'll handle this."
I nod.
I get into the passenger seat and Ziv closes the door for me.
Through the window, I see Neil limping toward the car.
"Violet, who told you to get in another man's car? Get the hell out!" Neil yells, reaching for the door, but
Ziv squeezes his wrist and yanks it away.
"Sir, only chewed gums would be so impolitely sticky." The smile on Ziv's face remains the same, but
the words come out sarcastically.
"That's my girl!" Neil shouts, "Fuck you! Get the fuck off me!"
Neil struggles to get his hand free, but couldn't get it out. Ziv's expression is so light that he doesn't
even seem to use much strength to control Neil.
Ziv grunts lightly before letting Neil’s hand go. He says scornfully, "Violet is mine now."
"Say that again, I will beat you up, you son of bitch." Neil raises his hand and is about to slam it on Ziv's
face.
"Watch out!" I yell.
But suddenly, Neil's arms jerk twice and his legs go limp. He stumbles and falls to the ground.
I watch open-mouthed as Neil grimaces in anger and tries to get up, but falls to the ground several
times.
Ziv sighs and shakes his head in disgust, "You can wrestle even on the flat ground, huh?"
Ziv walks around, opens the car door, and sits in the driver's seat. He starts the engine, and says to
me,
"Now it’s time to take you away with this."
The vehicle starts and gradually carries us away from Kelly's house. From the rearview mirror, I see
Neil keeps that position on his knees. He did not get up, and could not catch up.
Now he really looks like a stray dog.
"What is wrong with him ...?"
"Guess he broke his leg." Ziv says with a calm face, and asks, "You wouldn't feel sorry for him, would
you?"
I instantly put away my curiosity and snort.
"Feel sorry for him? I'd hate for him to fall and break his bones!"
"You little wolf, you're quite vindictive." Ziv laughs, "Stop focusing on other men and just watch me from
now on."
I blink, and my cheeks burn. I take several deep breaths before the heat fades from my face.
Well, he's my mate and the one I'm getting married to, so I guess it's normal to say some lovey-dovey
things.
Maybe.
About a dozen minutes later, the car turns into a more spacious road.
There are no longer bungalows along the road. Small villas with fine yards are starting to appear. This
is like a low-key wealthy area.
Ziv seems to be richer than I thought.
Ziv's car stops in front of one of the two-story buildings. He turns off the engine and says, "Here we
are."
Hugging the baby in my arm, I push open the car door and look around.
The environment here is very good. The surrounding area is very quiet. The two-floor house is large,
probably adding up to two or three hundred square feet. There is a small independent garden and two
parking spaces in front of the house. Now flowers are also blooming behind the fence.
It’s just the house looks too new. It doesn't look like anyone ever lived here.
"Do you live here?" I ask Ziv. This material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
"I just bought this house not long ago, I haven't lived here for a few days yet. Most of the time, I rest at
my workplace." Ziv replies.
I nod, holding the baby with one hand and going to the back door with the other. I have to find a way to
get Kelly out.
"Do you need my help?" Ziv asks.
I look at Kelly who is lying unconscious in the back seat, and finally ...put the baby in Ziv’s arms.
Kelly is, after all, a married woman, and it isn’t very convenient for Ziv to hold her.
Ziv freezes for two seconds, looking slightly shocked, "I ......"
Before he finishes his sentence, Mia suddenly cries out in his arms.
"This, this ......" Ziv's eyebrows knit. His expression is flustered and helpless.
No matter how powerful a man is, there are always things they can’t do well, such as... dealing with
babies.
I immediately correct his action of holding the child.
"You use this hand to drag the baby's bottom." I hold his wrist and guide him, "Then this hand to drag
the baby's head and neck, got it?"
Ziv is a good learner, and soon he is doing the right thing. Mia stops crying.
When finished teaching, I look up and find Ziv looking straight at me.
A look of a man wanting to possess a woman.
I don't understand how he could have suddenly developed such emotions.
I ask with embarrassment, “Why are you looking at me like that?”
He answers with a smile, "It's been a long time since anyone would dare tell me what to do."
“Oh alright. Then there is one now.” I try to avoid that absurd air floating between us and quickly turn
away.
A few minutes later, I move Kelly into the guest bedroom on the first floor. By then Mia also falls asleep.
Looking at Kelly's bruises, I sigh, “She’s wounded pretty bad.”
"Her wolf will help her heal, and the doctor is on his way too, so don't worry," Ziv says as he gently pats
my shoulder.
I blink, suddenly remembering that I knew nothing about Ziv except his name.
He lives in such a nice house, drives a nice car, dresses decently, and could afford to get a family
doctor. I guess his family should be well off.
Ziv seems to be able to read my mind. He gazes at me for a moment. His eyes narrow slightly.
And he says, "My name is Ziv Sanders, I am Beta of the Blue Moon Pack."
