Chapter 501

Chapter 501

He clenched his fists tightly, slamming them against the wall with force. Blood trickled down the pristine white wall in an instant. His mind was consumed with images of Clara locking herself in her room, sobbing uncontrollably.

Since finding out she was pregnant, she had weathered so many storms, but just when things seemed to be getting better, fate dealt her another harsh blow.

Ian felt as if countless knives were piercing his heart, blood gushing out. With a hoarse voice, he said, “Clara, I’m right here. Please, talk to me about anything, okay?”

Hearing his pleading voice, Clara cried even harder. Tears streaked down her face as she looked at the door. Her voice choked. “Ian, please go. I just want to be alone. I won’t hurt the baby.”

Her words struck Ian right in the heart. The last person she wanted to see right now was him. She had effectively blacklisted him.

When Ian realized this, a deep, indescribable pain welled up in his eyes. He clenched his fists harder and replied sternly, “Okay, I’ll leave. I’ll ask Casey to take care of you.” He stood silently at the door for a long while before finally walking away.

Casey saw him coming down, blood still dripping from his hands. Worried, he asked immediately, “What happened to your hand? Did you and Clara have a fight?” He quickly grabbed a first aid kit to bandage Ian’s hand. Material © NôvelDrama.Org.

That was when Ian’s hoarse voice filled the air. “Clara found out that Leonora is the one who killed her mother.”

Casey’s movements froze. “How? Who told her? We’ve been keeping it a secret, afraid she’d become suspicious. I didn’t even attend the trial.”

Just then, Dawson came over to report, “Mr. Hayes, someone sent a text to Mrs. Hayes with a video from the courtroom. The number was registered overseas and is now deactivated.”

Dawson handed the video to Ian. When Ian viewed it, his eyes instantly turned cold. “We have checked every possible angle before the trial. There were no cameras. How was this recorded?”

Dawson replied, “There’s only one possibility. The camera was on one of the spectators.”

Hearing this, Ian reviewed the video again.

After mentally going over the seating arrangement of the spectators, he confidently said, “The video should have been taken from the third row, near the middle. That’s where Dad and Katherine were sitting.”

He immediately called Teo. “Dad, check if you and Katherine have any hidden cameras on you. Someone sent Clara the courtroom video, and it seems to have been filmed from where you were sitting.”

Hearing this, Teo felt a sudden tightness in his chest. “How is Clara now?”

“I don’t know. She’s locked herself in her room and won’t let me in.”

Teo, furious, said, “That damned bastard is targeting me. Wait, I’ll check right now.”

After hanging up, he looked at Katherine. “We need to check if there’s a hidden camera on us.”

Seeing his grave expression, Katherine knew something was wrong. She began searching immediately.

Every corner of her bag, every button on her clothing, she searched herself thoroughly but found nothing suspicious. Just then, Teo pointed at the hairpin on Katherine’s head. “Don’t move. It’s

here.”
