Chapter 354

Chase strolled over and chimed in with a casual smile, "Is Carolina still chatting with Casey? I've got a table reserved at the restaurant. Dinner's on me tonight."

Sasha ground her teeth, her youthful face clouded with a stormy scowl. "My mom's already clued into the truth, so cut the act, Dr. Chase. Go do whatever you do when you're not pretending." She spun her wheelchair around and took off without a backward glance.

Chase was bewildered, "What did I do to tick her off now? She was fine just a moment ago, and now she's angry again?"

Ian kept his insights to himself, his face splitting into a sly grin, "Why do you have such a beef with arranged marriages? Have you met the girl before?"

"When we were kids, she was like a little shadow, always teary-eyed and crying. She was a total princess with a silver spoon in her mouth. No way could I stand her."

"Something like Salsa, I think."

Ian's lips curled into a stifled chuckle, amused at his friend's blunder. How had Chase never connected Sasha with that little girl?

Ian slapped Chase on the shoulder with a meaningful look and teased, "With your brains, no wonder you're still single."

Chase was riled up and shot back, "Like you're one to talk. You were this close to having your family taken away."

Ian shot him a glare and walked away, heading into the hospital room.

Leonora stormed out of the hospital, ignoring her own injuries, and made a beeline for the prison. The sight of a battered Heidi emerging struck panic in her heart. "Heidi, who did this to you? Tell me, and I'll make them pay."

Through sobs, Heidi was the picture of misery as she looked up at Leonora. "Please help me. They'll beat me to death. They're not just hitting me. They're making me do the most humiliating things. I can't eat and can't sleep. I can't take it anymore. I'll die if this keeps up."

Leonora's heart ached with compassion as she soothed her, "Don't be scared. Your dad and I will figure something out. We'll make Clara pay double for this."

"Did you check Sasha's medical records? Is the baby still there?"

"The baby's gone. That's what the records say."

Heidi wiped away tears before voicing her suspicions, "Something's off. Why would Sasha, pregnant and all, not stay home during the holidays? Why did Clara insist she go fetch the car herself? And Casey had a heart attack trying to stop Eve from revealing Clara's past. Why is he so terrified of Clara finding out?"

Leonora's eyes narrowed. "You think Clara's the pregnant one? Is Casey scared she'll miscarry from the shock?"

Heidi nodded solemnly. "If Clara's really pregnant, Ian will have no choice but to marry her. She'll be the matriarch of the Hayes family, and she'll come after you for revenge."

Hearing this, Leonora bit down hard on her lip in fury. "Don't worry, I won't let her get away with it. Take care of yourself. I'll find a way to get you out."

As visiting time ended, Heidi was led away by the guards. She looked back at Leonora, her voice choked with tears. "Please save me."
