Chapter 519 Splurge Recklessly

Over at Galaxy Bay, Zachary paced in front of the floor-to-ceiling window.

The car came into view, and even before it had come to a complete halt, he had already left the living room. By the time he reached the front door, Zephyr had just unlocked the central control. Zachary swung open the back door of the car, extending his arms toward Harrietta.

"Uncle Zachary!"

Harrietta wiggled her small bottom to the side, her hands wrapping around Zachary's neck. The moment she was lifted, she felt a smack on her backside.

"Ow!" Harrietta looked at Zachary with a pitiful gaze. "Uncle Zachary, why did you hit me?"

Zachary cast her a casual glance, closing the car door. "What do you think?"

Harrietta curled her lips, guiltily lowering her head.

Zachary let out a huff and said in a deep voice, "We'll settle this later."

After he finished speaking, he turned toward Zephyr, his voice cold as he stated, "I hope this is the last time something like this happens."

Zephyr didn't get out of the car. He just rolled down the window. When he heard Zachary's words, he said, "I'll inform you beforehand in the future. I have something to attend to now, so I have to go. Bye, Hattie." "Uncle, goodbye!"

Zachary carried Harrietta as he turned around to head into the mansion.

Harrietta leaned on Zachary's shoulder, casually waving at Zephyr.

Upon entering the living room, Harrietta squirmed a little. "Uncle Zachary, you can put me down now."

Zachary, however, seemed oblivious. He sat down directly on the couch, deftly pulling Harrietta onto his lap. He then gave her bottom a couple of playful swats.

Harrietta was taken aback, bursting into tears. "Uncle Zachary..."

Although it didn't hurt, she felt aggrieved.

"Do you realize your mistake? Will you dare to run off on your own again?" Zachary asked sternly.

"I-I didn't run off..."

Harrietta attempted to defend herself in a hushed voice, only to receive two more swats on her behind.

Afterward, she puckered her lips and said, "I realize my mistake."

"Would you dare to do it again in the future?"

"No..."

Zachary flipped her over, placing her on the nearby couch, his gaze intent on her eyes. "All right. Now, tell me something. Why did your uncle go there to pick you up?" Harrietta pouted. "It wasn't my uncle who picked me up."

Upon hearing that, Zachary raised an eyebrow. "Who did?"

"It was Granddad."

"Your granddad?" Zachary asked. Isla's father? Has he come to Jacaster?

"Yes."

"Did you know your granddad in the past?"

"No."

"How did you know that he was your granddad instead of some imposter?"

"I-I was just guessing..." Harrietta glanced at Zachary, revealing a look of uncertainty.

"How could you go off with a stranger? Weren't you afraid they might lead you to some remote valley?"

Zachary was amused, his large hand hoisting the little girl onto his lap, intending to playfully swat her bottom. However, he hadn't anticipated her slipping away.

She steadied herself two steps away. Looking at Zachary's gloomy expression, she chuckled lightly and said, "Uncle Zachary, listen to me. I was not just making wild guesses. I saw him at the mall yesterday..."

She briefly described the scene from the previous day when she encountered Bjorn.

"So what? It's not uncommon for parents to hurt their children, let alone a granddad. You share blood ties, yet you've never met. Do you know what kind of person he is? What if he doesn't allow you to return? What if he takes his anger out on you? Putting everything else aside, even if you were certain that you weren't in any danger, you should have at least informed me first. Do you have any idea how worried I was? Aunt Lenora was very worried as well. How about the head of kindergarten and teachers? They haven't even had their dinner yet because of this."

"Uncle Zachary, I was wrong."

Harrietta fell silent for a few seconds, and her lips moved slightly. She lowered her head, stepped forward, and took Zachary's hand. "I won't behave like this again in the future."

"From now on, you need to let me, Aunt Lenora, or Ms. Miranda know where you're going and who you'll be with."

"All right."

"All right. Come sit down."

Observing Harrietta's downcast head and gloomy demeanor, Zachary beckoned to her, saying, "How was your granddad? Did he treat you well?" "Granddad was quite kind to me."

As Harrietta spoke, she pulled out a bank card from her pocket and gave it a little wave. "This is a meeting gift from Granddad."

"Did that win you over?" Zachary said, a hint of sourness in his tone.

Upon hearing Zachary's words,

Harrietta tiptoed and sat on his lap, her little face beaming with a mischievous grin. "How could that be? No one else could possibly bribe me. Daddy, you're the best! However, if there's money on the table, why not take it, right?"

Zachary couldn't help but chuckle, gently pinching the little girl's nose. "You're such a money lover. Other than that, what else did your granddad tell you?"noveldrama

Zachary didn't believe Bjorn would go to Jacaster merely to give Harrietta a meeting gift.

Harrietta looked up at Zachary. "Granddad asked me to discuss something with you. He wants to take me back to Fairlake in a few days to visit Granny. We plan to stay there for a while."

"Do you want to?" Zachary asked. Stay for a while? Are they going to let her return?

Harrietta shook her head.

Though Bjorn was quite kind to her, he was, after all, someone she had only met once. Fairlake was even more foreign to her. It couldn't compare to the joy she found in staying with Zachary and playing with her friends at the kindergarten. "If you don't want to go, then don't. I'm here for you." Zachary shifted the topic, asking, "Have you had dinner yet?"

"Yes."

"In that case, you should give Aunt Lenora a call. She's really worried about you."

"All right."

Harrietta hopped away joyfully,

leaving Zachary to pull out his

phone. He called Zephyr and cut to

the chase, saying, "If your parents miss Hattie, they are welcome to visit her in Jacaster anytime. There's no need to go to Fairlake. Please pass my regards to your parents."

At that moment, Zephyr had just returned to the hotel, and he told Bjorn about Zachary's attitude.

Bjorn furrowed his brow and said to Avril, his assistant, "Arrange a meeting with Charlton for me tomorrow. I want to speak with him personally."

Avril responded accordingly.

Upon receiving a look from Bjorn, Avril exited the room, leaving the space for the father and son.

An instant calm descended upon the suite as the door swung open and closed.

The atmosphere had subtly turned somber.

Bjorn's deep blue eyes were incredibly sharp, and his gaze landed heavily on Zephyr.

Zephyr calmly met his gaze. "What do you want from me?"

"Why are you treating your sister this way?" Bjorn asked in a cold voice.

If he was powerless to change the situation, then so be it. However, it was evident that Isla didn't have to be detained.

"She broke the law, and getting only a month in the detention center is a remarkably lenient punishment."

Bjorn scoffed. "I've never seen you so righteous before."

"I didn't want to cause any trouble for Uncle Matthew."

"Is it because you didn't want to

trouble your uncle, or is it because the victim was Sophia?" Bjorn wore a confident smile on his face as if he had everything under control." heard you spent a hundred million in Clusian currency to buy her a mansion. You've splurged recklessly, haven't you?"

"Well, Isla made a mistake. As her older brother, it's only natural that I should make amends. Isn't that what I've always done?"

Hearing his grandiose speech, Bjorn scoffed and retorted, "She probably doesn't know about your true identity yet, does she?"

Zephyr gradually clenched his fists.

Bjorn continued, "It's one thing to dote on a woman excessively, but to have to hide your identity and even trick someone into a contractual marriage, it's a disgrace to the Wilson family!"
