No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric)

Chapter 212

Since Donovan had taken Xenia to the hospital, there was no one left with Mr. Greene. This presented the perfect opportunity for her.

As Noelle quietly peeked outside, Cedric interrupted, "What are you looking at?"

"Shh, keep your voice down," she whispered. She pulled Cedric's hand and stepped carefully behind a vase.

Cedric stood beside her, glancing at the bodyguards hidden in the shadows and shaking his head.

Noelle lowered her voice and asked, "Don't you know Mr. Greene is dining in that private room?"

Cedric's expression remained calm. "And?"

Noelle turned to him, feeling slightly frustrated. "Alfred called you, didn't he? Didn't he mention why you're here? This is a rare opportunity."

"A rare opportunity for what?" Cedric asked.

Noelle said matter-of-factly, "To discuss investments with Mr. Greene. I can't let the Liddell family get ahead of us."

Cedric smiled. "Don't worry. Greene Corporation will invest in your company."

"You're confident? Have you already met with Mr. Greene?" Noelle asked, raising an eyebrow.

Cedric cleared his throat, feeling a little uneasy. "Yes, I've already met him."

"How did it go?" she asked.

"It went well," Cedric replied casually.

"I heard Mr. Greene is tough to deal with. I didn't expect you to secure an agreement so quickly," Noelle remarked.

Cedric frowned slightly. "Who told you that?"

"Everyone says he's difficult. I saw him earlier," she said.

Cedric's heart skipped a beat. He watched her closely, sensing something wasn't quite right. "Did you get a good look at him?"

It didn't add up. If Noelle had recognized him, her behavior would be different.

"No, I couldn't see clearly. His bodyguards were in the way. I only caught a glimpse of his profile," she explained.

"So, you didn't actually see his face?" Cedric clarified.

Noelle shook her head and then glanced at him again. "Your suit is almost the same color as Mr. Greene's."

Cedric smirked. "It's a common color for suits. There's nothing unusual about that."noveldrama

"True, but he doesn't wear it as well as you," Noelle replied, teasing him. Cedric smiled softly. "Is that a compliment? Yet, you've never seen him."

"I don't need to. Someone with his status probably has a messy personal life. He might even have some illegitimate children," she replied with a smirk.

Cedric playfully flicked her forehead. "You seem to know a lot about him and his personal life."

"I'm just guessing. The more money people have, the wilder their lives tend to be," she said matter-of-factly. Having grown up in a wealthy family herself, Noelle had seen plenty of indulgent lifestyles.

Cedric paused, unsure of how to respond.

Noelle glanced around, noticing the eerily quiet atmosphere. "Have you noticed

how quiet it is here? There's no one around."

Cedric remained calm. "Are you hungry?"

"A little. Let's go. It seems Mr. Greene has cleared the place out. We'd be better off not lingering here."

She seemed to realize her predicament and preferred to head somewhere more private with Cedric.

Cedric gave her a quick glance. "How's your new place?"

"It's good. Why don't we go there for dinner? You can help me celebrate the housewarming," she offered.

"Sounds good," Cedric agreed.

He was still thinking about how to avoid being recognized. Going to her new house was the safest bet for now He wasn't ready to reveal who he truly was.

They took the elevator down together, and as they reached the restaurant, a middle-aged man suddenly approached. "Mr. Greene, long time no see!"

Noelle paused in surprise, noticing that he had just called Cedric "Mr. Greene."
