No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric)

Chapter 154

When Noelle heard what Frank said about distancing herself from Cedric, she pursed her lips. "This situation started because of me, and I won't run away from it."noveldrama

She couldn't bring herself to pin all the blame on Cedric, not when that would feel like backstabbing.

"Nelly, stop being so stubborn. Listen to me and come home. I promise nothing will happen to you."

"If that's all you've got to say, then don't say anything at all."

Noelle hung up the phone decisively. She wasn't going to follow Frank's advice.

Frank stared at the phone, sighing heavily.

Standing beside him, Lucas asked, "So, did she agree?"

"No."

"Is Noelle out of her mind? She can't solve Justin's situation and is just going to get herself into more trouble with the Parham family."

Frank was well aware of the seriousness of the situation.

He looked at Lucas. "In any case, make sure the best doctor and caregiver are looking after Justin. Try to keep him calm and happy-maybe that will make things easier to handle."

If reconciliation were impossible, they'd have to let Donovan step in.

...

The next day, Noelle woke up with dark circles under her eyes. She hadn't slept well at all the previous night, constantly thinking about how to resolve Justin's situation.

She picked up her phone and saw a message from her lawyer with some advice. "You could buy some gifts and visit the patient in the hospital first to soften their attitude and work toward reconciliation." Noelle felt frustrated. If an apology was necessary, then she'd do it herself. She couldn't let Cedric take the fall for this.

But today, she had to stop by the school first.

Noelle quickly got dressed and headed next door to the apartment, where the housekeeper had already prepared breakfast and placed it on the table.

Cedric was in the study, and Alfred was probably still asleep.

Thinking about the awkwardness of her failed confession last night, she decided to avoid disturbing Cedric in the study.

She left a sticky note and quietly left the apartment.

She took a bus alone to the school.

Large red banners hung outside, celebrating the school's high enrollment rate.

Another banner read, "Congratulations to student XX for ranking first in the city!"

The student's name was deliberately blocked as if to add an air of mystery.

When Noelle entered the classroom, everyone was excitedly discussing the exam results.

As soon as she entered, many students glanced at her with curious eyes.

After the exams, Noelle quickly became the gaming queen on Firestorm. Her gaming skills were top-notch, her commentary was detailed and patient, and her grades were impressive.

Noelle had suddenly become the idol of her classmates.

Rachel was the first to walk up to her.

She smiled, asking, "Queen, how did you do on the exam? I heard the top scorer in the city is in our class. Could it be you?"

"Ha, no way it's Noelle. I heard she did badly in language, and her score probably won't even make the first-tier college cutoff." Betty sneered as she entered the classroom. Noelle replied coldly, "That's still higher than your score."

Xenia was dressed in a branded

outfit with perfectly done 'influencer'

makeup. Her voice oozed

superiority. "Noelle, I know you didn't do wett on the exam. So, if you want to repeat the year, I'll keep you company."

Noelle was already in a bad mood because of Justin's incident the night before, and now this little bitch was still trying to provoke her.

Since Xenia had already put herself in the line of fire, why not take the shot?

"Enough. With your combined score,

it doesn't even add up to half of mine. How dare you talk about repeating the year with me? I could answer questions with my arse and still beat your score!"
