"Wait, what?" Ethan and Pearl said simultaneously.

No one had expected Katherine to say such a thing.

What kind of a sister would make her younger brother quit his job and stay at home to take care of

kids? Especially in such a big wealthy family. This was really just too unbelievable.

"Is there any problem?" Katherine still looked quite serious, "Obviously, Pearl's job is better and more

promising than yours. So you should just stay home and take care of your wife and kids."

Then he turned to look at her parents, "Mom, Dad, what do you think of it?"

Enrique and Victoria were stunned for a moment. After thinking about their daughter's suggestion, they

found it actually reasonable. It looked like they were about to agree.

Before they could say anything, Ethan said anxiously, "Mom, Dad, you're not gonna agree to that, are

you?"

Victoria hesitated and said, "Your sister's suggestion are quite reasonable. Pearl is very busy and our

family doesn't need you to make money for us. You should stay at home and take care of them. Do

some houseworks as well."

"No, that's too ridiculous, isn't it? How could a man quite his job only to stay at home?"

"Fine." Katherine's tone were cold. She glanced at Ethan and said, "It's okay for you to disagree, but

your bank card will be frozen, and you'll have to make money yourself."

"You've gone too far this time."

"I have given you a choice." Katherine slowly said.

Ethan was so flustered that his face turned purple, "How can you make these decisions yourself. Pearl

hasn't even agreed to this yet."

As Pearl was suddenly dragged into their quarrel, she almost choked on her food.

"Pearl, are you okay?" Victoria quickly gave her a glass of water.

"Aunt, I'm fine." Pearl drank the water. She was thinking about how to revert the situation.

As she looked up, she saw Katherine looking at her, "Pearl, our family has always respected gender

equality. So, what do you think of it?"

Pearl hesitated, and she said, "Since you have said that men and women are equal, then Ethan's

opinions should be respected as well. In terms of professional aspects, he is no worse than I am."

She said those words sincerely. Even though Ethan was a playboy, he was still very serious about

studying medicine. While he was studying abroad, he always busied himself in lab for days.

Hearing this, Katherine didn't say anything.

The atmosphere gradually got awkward.

Pearl started to regret it. If she had known this would happen, she wouldn't have said that to help

After a while, Katherine said, "Alright, let him work for some time and we'll see."

"That was just unbelievable." Ethan muttered beside her.

Ethan whispered in Pearl's ears, "My sister has never listened to anyone's opinions ever since

childhood."

As Victoria saw Ethan and Pearl chatting with each other, she smiled happily and whispered to her

husband, "Look how good their relationship is. We won't have to worry about him anymore."

While Katherine was having lunch, she glanced at Ethan and Pearl out of the corners of her eyes. A

trace of relief flashed across her cold face.

Pearl started to play a game of chess with Enrique after lunch.

"Uncle Enrique, you must have gone easy on me. I only lost one." Pearl said.

"I wouldn't dare go easy on you. You have great chess skills. I was just lucky to win."

Chess players were always happy to meet rivals. Enrique then asked, "There aren't many girls who

love playing chess. Have you learned it since you were young?"

"I learnt it from my father."

"That's wonderful."

While they were talking, Ethan came down from upstairs, he got changed and was ready to go to the

hospital, "Pearl, are you finished? Let's go. I'll go through the procedure for my new job."

"We finished, I lost to Uncle Enrique." Pearl looked up at Ethan with a smile. "Where are Bonny and

Brandon?" She then asked.

"They've fallen asleep as they were tired after playing. My mother is with them. Let them stay here for a

few days."

Pearl hesitated, "Would that bother you too much? Bonny is too noisy."

"It's okay." Enrique said, "Your aunt has nothing to do at home. She always wanted the house to get

lively. Feel free to let Brandon and Bonny stay here. She would be happy."

Pearl smiled, "In that case, Uncle, I won't refuse. I still have an operation this afternoon."

After she left the Louise Mansion with Ethan, her heart was still full of warmth.

Although she had always been the apple of her father's eyes since she was a child, her mother passed

away when Pearl was at a young age. Hence, she rarely felt warmth in her house as her father was

busy at work.

"You parents are really nice." Pearl said.

Ethan yawned. "Yeah, they are indeed."

"Then why don't you live at home?"

"There's a demon in the house. I would stay home only if I have a death wish." Ethan rolled his eyes

rudely. "You heard it too. She let me to resign and take care of the children. Why didn't she think of

it.

Pearl was stunned: "What is this?"

"Holy crap..." Ethan picked up the string of keys in Pearl's hand saying, "Could it be that she has taken

a fancy to you? What's the hell going on here?"

"What?" Pearl was confused by his reaction.

"Take a look." Ethan held the keys in each hand, "These are car keys. But this one, this are the keys for

a villa in Yoreast Hills Garden."

"What does it mean?"

"You still don't understand? Are you dumb? What did she say when she gave it to you?"

Suddenly, Pearl returned to her senses.

When Katherine handed her the keys, she said expressionlessly, "Consider this a meeting gift."
