Mysterious Mr.Richard

Chapter80

Chapter80

The heavy downpour took away the scorching heat that had been terrorizing Kityall City for days. There

was a rainbow at dusk.

After they arrived at Pearl's apartment, they saw Richard's assistant when they came down from the

car. He nodded at Pearl by way of greeting when he saw her.

"Let me do it, I'm sorry to trouble you today." Pearl took the sleeping Bonny from Richard.

"Let's go up. The wind's acting up again." He said faintly.

They had been playing the whole afternoon and the weather was also bad. It was easy to catch a cold.

Pearl nodded, "Well, you'd better go back early. Remember to drink some hot tea after you get back.

Don't take too many propulsid. It has some nasty side effects."

"Okay."

Thinking that Richard had plenty of servants and a fiancée to take care of him, Pearl forced a smile

before holding Brandon's hand and went upstairs.

Richard didn't stay here too long. He ordered his assistant to drive him home after Pearl entered the

building.

In the car, the assistant carefully said, "Mr. Zellweger, Jacob called you just now."

"Really? What's going on?"

"Miss Wood's waiting for you at home."

Hearing this, Richard frowned, "What day is it today?"

He had been with Adriana for two years. Apart from necessary occasions, Adriana would never go to

his apartment.

"I don't think today is any special day." His assistant said.

Richard stopped asking any further questions. He leaned back on his seat and closed his eyes to have

a short rest. He thought she just had something to discuss with him and that was it.

But Ted felt inexplicably nervous.

He felt that something was going to happen recently. Ever since Dr. Yonng showed up, his boss had

become a totally different person. He now wasn't even sure if the wedding could be held on time.

Now the night fell.

Pearl closed the windows, settled the two kids into their beds and closed their room door. She then

took out a can of beer and settled down on the sofa.

White foam shot out from an opening on the beer can after Pearl jerked it open.

Pearl raised the can and took a sip. She then curled up and leaned against the pillows with her eyes

looking at the wide ceiling. Soon, she was lost in her thoughts.

Her phone had notified her that she had received some messages. At first, she thought it was sent by

Ethan so she didn't to bother to have a look. For now, she would finish her beer first. But to her

surprise, Alex turned out to be the sender. Her eyes widened as she saw "Alexander" name in his

message.

Alex asked, "Alexander suddenly asked me for your messenger account from me. What do you think of

it?"

Probably because she didn't reply, another batch of messages reached her phone.

"If you're not willing, I'll turn him down."

"Oh right, have you thought about Dr. Morgan's offer to teach at the university?" Alex then asked.

"You don't have to be so awkward to become Alexander's coworker, you know. You two did two

different majors so you may not have to get along with him."

Alex was a thoughtful person. He would always take care of important people around him. He usually

went into great detail in everything he did for his friends so that they would never feel mistreated.

Pearl thought for a while and replied, "I'll take the offer after I'm done with Dr. Wale's project. I won't feel

awkward working with him."

She then sent her reply to Alex. It took only seconds before she got his reply, "Okay. I'll help you turn

down Alexander's request."

Pearl hesitated for a while and wrote, "Um, give me his account. I have something to ask him

personally."

If Richard had not appeared, she would have calmed down and asked Alexander some detailed Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.

questions.

Alexander must have known something.

At first, Alex's reply was a simple "Good". But then, he sent another message, "Be careful, okay?

Alexander hasn't got along with Jeanette after they got married. His reputation at the university isn't

very stellar either."

Alex had no idea of what had happened seven years ago.

"Okay, I see. Sleep early."

"You too. Have a good night."

......

When Richard reached the Zellweger Mansion, the rain had stopped completely. A maid came out and

readied an umbrella for him.

"Sir, did you get caught in rain today?" Jacob, the family butler of Zellweger, looked suspiciously at

Richard.

"I'm fine." He didn't say too much about it.

As soon as Richard and Jacob entered the apartment, the latter ordered a maid to prepare a ginger

soup, "Sir, you should take a shower or it would be easy for you to catch a cold."

"Okay." Richard nodded his head slightly.

He didn't see Adriana waiting for him in the living room, so he thought she might have left.

The whole bathroom was filled with steam from the hot water pouring out from the shower head. Hot

water washed through his face, as if taking away some of his messy memories.

A gust of cold air brushed on his back. The bathroom door was opened slowly, but Richard didn't hear

it.

"Who is it?" As soon as he asked it, a pair of slender fair arms wrapped around his waist.

"Richard..."

Adriana's voice was trembling, as if she had packed up all her courage to do so.

"Adriana? Who let you in?" Richard frowned.

"I'm your fiancée, why can't I be here?" Adriana's tone was full of grievances and even a bit of tear.

"I've been with you for two years, but you've had sex with me. Tell me, why?"

In fact, she had been with Richard for over two years. Richard should have had sex with her a long

time ago, only if he wanted to. However, Richard had never done such a thing, which turned out to be

quite unbelievable.

To Adriana, it was a shame that she would never tell anyone.

However, only she knew that Richard refused to touch her because he was still in love with someone

else.

Richard frowned even more. "Let go of me. Please. And leave."

"No. No, I'm not." Adriana's arms tightened their grip on Richard's waist, "Richard, I'm afraid. I really

am..."
