Olympia was the first to react, quickly stepping in to defend Leah. "Leah's not at fault! Everything she did in the past was for the good of our family and the company. How could anyone blame her?"
Zayn's expression shifted slightly as he heard her words.
Once again, she did something bad with good intentions.
Valda muttered quietly to herself, "With so many people in this family, who hasn't contributed to the company and the family? Why does she keep getting criticized for it?"
Valda didn't mean any harm, but when it came to protecting the family's legacy and business, not even a cherished granddaughter could take precedence over the generations of work that had built that foundation.
Leah clenched her teeth in frustration.
What is this old hag up to now?
Willard sighed and tried to explain, "Mom, the people online are just causing trouble. They target those they think are vulnerable. Leah's the easy target in this family, and whether she's guilty or not, they'll just latch onto her and won't let go."
Upon hearing this, Valda, though still irritated, held back from criticizing Leah further.
She slammed her cane on the floor and said sharply, "No matter what, we need to find and punish those employees who are stirring things up online!"
With the New Year approaching, and the family's reputation suffering, leaving things unresolved would only lead to more disaster.
Jonah, finishing a call, spoke up. "We can't interfere with what's happening online. It's not a planned attack; it's just public conversation. The buzz is already dying down since last night. A friend of mine says we shouldn't worry-it'll be forgotten once a new topic comes up in a few days."
He added, "As for the employees posting online ... they have the right to express their views. Since it's all anonymous, if we try to go after every one of them, it'll only backfire on us."
Valda fumed, “So, we just let this slide?"
Willard stayed silent, but his displeasure was evident.
At that moment, Leah spoke up in a hoarse voice, surprising everyone. "If we use this as an excuse to punish the employees, they might get angry and post even worse rumors. It could just make things worse for the company."
She took a shaky breath and spoke more softly, "Dad, Jonah, you've always been generous with the company's employees, especially the long-term ones. The salary and benefits are some of the best in Eragos. At the very least, I think they should feel a sense of gratitude. They've received so much from the company, so how could they turn around and damage its reputation?"
Leah naused her tone thoughtful. "I think employees who lack integrity need to be watched closely. If

He gave an order right away, "Leah's right. The company has done so much for them, and they repay us with harm. You, the boss, should keep an eye on them. Those who fail to meet expectations need to be dealt with. This way, it won't look like we're treating them unfairly."
Jonah, shocked by Leah's words, stared at her with disbelief and judgment.
He didn't agree with this harsh, unfeeling stance.
It was especially surprising coming from his typically kind-hearted younger sister.
Willard immediately caught Jonah's expression and, in a cold tone, said, "This is an order!"
Seeing his father's firm stance, Jonah reluctantly agreed to handle it.
Valda, feeling a little relief, muttered, "Now that's more like it. We can't do much about those online trolls, but we can certainly deal with our own employees."
Willard's mood lightened. "Leah, you're a sharp girl. You always help both me and Jonah run the company."
Leah rubbed her eyes, which were red from crying. "I just can't stand seeing the company ridiculed like this, and...

She lowered her head, her voice heavy with sadness. "People online are always comparing me to Chara, saying I'm worthless, that I can't measure up to her, and that I've only caused trouble for my family ...

Olympia, seeing her daughter in pain, was overwhelmed with sympathy. She immediately pulled Leah close and comforted her, "This isn't your fault! If anyone's to blame, it's those nosy people online. We can handle our own family matters. I'll spoil whichever daughter I want, and it's nobody else's business!"
Leah's eyes reddened even more, touched by her mother's defense, but still overwhelmed with guilt. In a soft voice, she said, "Mom, Dad, everyone thinks you should spoil Chara more because, after all, I'm just the outsider..."
