My Mute Wife

Chapter 88 All Go Away

“I, I can help,” said Marry, who was pinched by Diana and immediately stepped forward.

“No,” Kevin stopped at the door, his tall figure blocking the doorway, and he pointed at a young maid behind Marry, “You, come in.”

The young maid froze and looked questioningly at Marry.

“Mr. Alan, do you need help? She is new here and I …”

“No, I want her to do it, don’t you understand?”

Kevin’s voice was so gloomy that no one dared to say anything more.

Kevin let the young maid in and closed the door directly, and several people outside the door looked at each other in disbelief.

The sound of the door being unlocked made Diana angry.

Diana frowned, “What’s going on in there?”

Marry shook her head, “It’s dark, I can’t see anything.”

Thinking of the commotion last night, Diana’s frown deepened.

It was at this point that Kevin turned the lights on in the house.

The maid’s face turned pale with fright as she saw the mess on the bed and let out a cry of alarm.

Kevin said, “Go to the bathroom and help Mrs. Howard take a bath.”

“Mr. Alan, this…”

“Don’t ask anything, you don’t see anything when you go out of here later.”

The maid nodded her head.

The bathroom was dense with water.

Lexie soaked in the bathtub, her eyes open as if she had no sanity, not saying a word as the maid wiped her body.

Across the bathroom door, at Kevin’s command, the maid took the ointment and applied it to Lexie’s pussy.

The pain of moment hit her, Lexie cringed violently, shuddering as she remembered those images from last night.

“Mrs. Howard, did I hurt you?”

Tears slid down her cheeks, and Lexie said nothing.

The maid dared not say more and could only be more careful.

The outside world said that Miss Mitchell, a mute, was lucky to marry into the Howard family, but she had only come for a few days before she encountered such a thing, which showed how absurd the rumors were.

It rained all day in J City.

In the Mitchell’ villa.

As soon as Edith came home, she saw the white car parked in front of the door.

“My dad’s home?”

“Yes, Miss, Mr. Mitchell came back early this morning and his secretary is also here.”

The door to the study on the ground floor was closed.

“Is something wrong?”

The maid shook her head, “I don’t know, but Mr. Howard was looking very bad, and when I brought the tea in I thought I heard they were talking about some engineering project, something about Howard Group.”

Edith’s heart stuttered.

The study was cloudy at the moment.Nôvel/Dr(a)ma.Org - Content owner.

Peter slammed the papers to the ground.

“How can a project that was moving forward properly to be changed? The contract is about to be signed. Haven’t the bids been publicised? Mitchell Pharmaceutical Group ranking is there for all to see!”

The secretary broke out in cold sweat, “We don’t know what’s going on, there’s a sudden change over there.”

“There has to be a reason for that, right?”

“I heard that Mr. Dawson met with Alan Howard this morning.”

“Alan?”

Peter’s facechanged.

“Mr. Mitchell, in the past few years, the Howard Group has been suppressing our Mitchell Pharmaceutical Group both explicitly and implicitly, this time is actually what you expected, if this goes on, Mitchell Pharmaceutical Group will sooner or later be taken over by the Howard Group.”

“He’s dreaming!”

Even the Mitchell Group was not good enough, it would not be so easy to be annexed by the Howard Group.

Peter pressed his large hand on the desk, his gaze sunken, “Don’t forget, I still have a bottom card.”

“…”

Kevin took a day off work to look after Lexie.

He was not at ease with the Howard family’s servants, and especially not with Diana and Marry, fearing that they would irritate Lexie.

“Eat some food, you haven’t eaten much since lunch.”

Kevin helped Lexie sit up from the bed, “Be careful.”

After lying down all day, Lexie still looked discomfited and reluctantly tugged at the corners of her mouth.

[You haven’t been at work all day today? Thank you.]

“It’s okay, have some soup.”

Lexie nodded and took a small sip of the fish soup, which slid down her throat but was all bitterness.

The sound of an engine came from downstairs and both were startled.

Kevin said calmly “Have some rest, if there’s anything wrong, send me a text.”

[Okay.]

Downstairs, Alan had just entered the house.

“It’s raining quite heavily outside, Mr. Alan, have you eaten yet?”

“I’ve eaten,” Alan dropped an sentence expressionlessly before heading straight upstairs, only to meet Kevin head-on, who has just came out from his bedroom.

With a ‘click’, he slammed the door shut with his hand.

“Just got back?” Kevin asked him.

Alan gave a nod, his eyes sweeping over the plate he was holding.

“Don’t we have a maid in the house? Why need you to do these chores?”

Seeing that he didn’t mention a word about Lexie, Kevin’s face instantly sank, “Don’t you ask me why I’m doing this?”

“She can’t get out of bed, she can hardly move now, she …” Kevin swept downstairs out of the corner of his eye and saw Marry, he could only suppress his temper for the moment and yelled low, “Alan, what have you done? ”

“You don’t need to ask questions about what we couple.”

Alan dropped a cold word and walked straight past him, heading for the study.

Kevin turned to his back and questioned, “Aren’t you going to check on her?”

Alan didn’t even turn his head back.

The door to the study closed behind him with a ‘click’ that echoed down the corridor.

It was late at night and Lexie was drowsy from sleep.

The pain in her body prevented her from sleeping properly, but untold exhaustion kept her awake.

In a trance, it was as if she felt someone sitting down beside her bed.

Was it a dream?

The moonlight shone on the bed, drawing a shadow.

Early the following morning.

When Lexie woke up, Kevin just happened to come in with breakfast.

“Awake?”

Lexie nodded and propped herself up to sit up.

[Were you here last night?]

“No, what’s wrong?”

Lexie glanced suspiciously at the glass of water on the bed and shook her head, [Nothing, maybe I was dreaming in my sleep].

As they were talking, the door to the room suddenly opened from outside.

The moment she saw the visitor, Lexie’s hand shook and the bowl of porridge knocked over onto the tray.

Kevin moved the plate away quickly, “Do you get hurt?”

[No.]

Alan’s gaze sank, but he didn’t say a word and went straight into the cloakroom.

“Are you okay?”

After the cloakroom door closed, Kevin’s concerned voice could still be clearly heard outside.

Alan was holding the cufflinks of his shirt in his hand, but he couldn’t button them several times, and in his distraction, he even ripped off his tie and threw it on the sofa.

“I’ll go and get you a new bowl,” Kevin gathered up his plate and was about to leave, but Lexie tugged at the corner of his coat.

Lexie shook her head nervously, unable to stop looking in the direction of the cloakroom out of the corner of her eye.

Kevin suddenly understood.

She was in fear.

What exactly did she go through that night to make her scared like this when she saw Alan?

The door to the cloakroom opened, and Alan had changed his clothes.

As soon as he came out, he saw Lexie tugging on Kevin’s coat.

As they looked at each other, Lexie looked at him with a look of desperately suppressed fear, and disgust.
