Chapter 21
Chapter 21
After a brief moment’s contemplation, Celena quickly changed her clothes and stormed out of her room, ignoring Calum’s resistance and instead saying, “I can’t stop worrying about Liam. Don’t try to stop me. Just promise me you’ll stay here and keep an eye on Jovie. I’ll be back soon! If Liam comes back, just tell him to take good care of Jovie, and tell him that I don’t hate him!”
With that, she hailed a taxi and told the driver, “Sir, please bring me to Stone Mansion in the Uptown Area!”

Celena knew just how much power the Walkers held over the entire -Drunham City. Seven years ago she had already witnessed just how
malicious the Walkers were capable of being, and now that seven years had passed and the Walkers were even more powerful than ever, Celena knew she had no choice but to seek refuge from the
Stones.
Although the Stones were technically a smaller family than the Walkers, and she was banished from the family seven years ago, Celena had to give it a try despite the minuscule odds that the Stones would help her.
However, not long after Celena left, Liam arrived home. He stormed into the house and shouted, “Celena, I’m home!”
He wanted to see Celena again, and more than anything, he wanted to hold her in his arms again!
wever, he was disappointed to see only Calum waiting for him in
iving room. He scowled and asked, “Where’s Celena?”
?Mrs. Cole has,left,” Calum stammered.
eft? Where did she go? Did you allow her to leave by herself? Why
didn’t any of you follow her?” Liam was displeased at this.
Calum quickly explained, “Sir, she didn’t want us to follow, but I’ve secretly sent some of our men to follow her without her knowing, so please don’t worry. She must’ve gone to the Stones to seek for help because she thought you were taken hostage by the Walkers!”
“The Stones?” Liam could not help sighing at this. How naïve was Celena to think the Stones would be willing to help her? If the Stones were willing to help, they would not have banished her seven years ago knowing she was pregnant!
Besides, she was still injured, so how could she venture out all by herself?
Liam was worried that the Stones would try to hurt Celena again, so he turned to Calum and instructed, “Bring me to the Stones right now!”
He would never forgive himself if anything happened to either Celena
or Jovie!
Meanwhile, Celena stood outside the gates of Stone Mansion, staring at the intricate wrought-iron gate and its tall, lumbering walls. There were two lion statues on either side of the gate, symbolizing the Stone family’s immense wealth and power.
Celena stared wistfully at the familiar door and finally mustered the courage to walk toward it. She barely took a few steps when the guards stopped her. “Who are you? What brings you here?”
“I-” Celena did not know how to respond to this.
All of a sudden, a shrill female voice rang out, “Look who it is! isn’t this my good old sister who got kicked out because she conceived a child out of wedlock? What’s wrong? He didn’t treat you well and you decided to come crawling back?”
It was Celena’s sister, Cheryl, who at this moment was sneering at
Celena from inside the gates, holding onto the arm of a handsome young man. “Don’t you remember? You’ve been banished!”
“Cheryl, I’m just here to see Grandpa,” Celena felt her legs go weak, and even her mind was beginning to grow foggy. The wound in her right shoulder was twinging, and she gripped onto both her thighs so tightly to stay awake that her nails dug into her flesh.
Cheryl, however, was amused by the sight of Celena in such a state. She let go of the man next to her and strode toward Celena, giving her a scrutinizing look. “Well well well, Celena, I didn’t think you’d have the face to show up here again. Our family wouldn’t have become the laughingstock of the entire city if you did not insist on giving birth to that little scum! You want to see Grandpa? Sure! Just get on your knees and beg me! I’ll allow you to come in if you satisfy me!”
