Chapter 871
Chapter 871
Esther and Logan locked eyes.
Logan quickly engaged in their act and asked, "Esther, do you know him?"
"I don't." Esther shook her head, tentatively asking, "Sir, perhaps you are a friend of my younger
sister?"
Kevin turned around and entered the hospital room, closing the door behind him.
"Esther, I'm Kevin!"
Esther shook her head.
"Don't you remember me? I'm Kevin, Kevin Slade!"
Seeing Kevin so emotionally charged, Esther suddenly became curious about Bradley's expression
when he saw her.
"Sorry, I don't know you."
Kevin instantly understood as a doctor. He looked at Esther, then at Logan, and asked gently, "Do you
have selective amnesia?
"I know some people suffer from selective amnesia because they can't accept reality.
"I understand. Don't worry, I won't tell Bradley about your situation."
Esther took out a purse and pulled out an ID.
"Sir, you might know my sister. I'm her elder sister, Esther Quill."
Kevin was a bit confused by Esther's words. "What sister? Esther doesn't have an elder sister!"
"This is my ID."
Kevin took the identification Esther handed over and examined the contents, finding it different from
what he expected.
Despite that, both were named Esther, and they looked exactly alike. Why were the details different?
"Because of my parents, my sister and I were separated since birth."
Kevin earnestly observed the current Esther, trying to find traces of her lying, but he found that
everything she said was true. Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org
Her eyes were bright and radiant. The present her was completely different from the past Esther. The
previous Esther was like a delicate flower, but the current one was more like a resilient bamboo.
Kevin couldn't give up and asked again, "Are you really not the Esther I know?"
Esther nodded seriously.
"Then..."
'Do you know what you'll be facing?' was what Kevin didn't say. He knew and understood Bradley too
well. If Bradley saw her, he would undoubtedly use all means—fair or foul—to bring her back to his
side.
A tragedy had already happened. Kevin didn't want such a tragedy to occur again.
"You mean Bradley?" Esther sneered. "If he comes, it's time to settle the score."
Kevin kindly reminded, "He's very dangerous. You're not his match."
"No, you're wrong."
Esther smiled, her clear voice resonating like a breeze through the bamboo forest, carrying a
comforting yet firm strength.
"He isn't dangerous. My sister's love gave him the power to hurt her. He's just a bastard taking
advantage of a woman's love to act recklessly."
Kevin rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on. "You don't understand."
'You don't know how dangerous, crazy, and ruthless he is.' was what Kevin wanted to say.
Esther smiled. "I don't need to understand."
Kevin changed the topic, recalling what his classmate had said. "I heard you have kidney disease, and
I just did the compatibility test."
Esther looked at Kevin in surprise. She hadn't expected him to do a compatibility test. She didn't have
kidney disease, so even if Kevin did the test, it couldn't genuinely match.
"Did you love my sister?" Esther asked.
Kevin shook his head. "It's not love, it's guilt."
