My Hidden Marriage With The President

Chapter 66 Unexpected Incident

“Liam, can you stay home? I’ll go out to deal with something about work. I’ll return home soon, OK?”

William had begun to rely on her more and more. Although he didn’t go on a hunger strike or toss away things again, he would be unhappy if Eva went home late than expected.

William shook his head and wrote on the board, “I want you to be with me, Eva.”

“I need to work, Liam. Or I won’t have money to buy snacks for you.”

William wrote solemnly, “Dad can raise us.”

Eva laughed, impressed by his naiveness. “No, I can’t let your dad do it. He’ll raise you but not me.”

“Why not?” William wrote with a big question mark, expressing his confusion.

“Because he’s your dad, not mine. I promise I’ll return in three hours, OK?” Eva coaxed him.

Since Bonnie mentioned she would introduce her to someone and Eva would go to Luxstar, she couldn’t take William with her.

Eva kept reasoning with William, her throat drying out. Finally, William agreed with her reluctantly and let her promise she would return in three hours. Then he released Eva.

Thinking about William waiting for her at home, Eva sped up her car subconsciously. She arrived at Luxstar in 25 minutes instead of 40.

She knocked on Bonnie’s office door and entered.

“Have a seat, Eva.”

“Bonnie, have you found some good scripts?” Eva asked, straight to the point.

“Why? Are you anxious now? Why didn’t you feel anxious when agreeing to perform in so many lousy shows?” Bonnie sneered.

Although her words were harsh, she told the truth. Eva didn’t take them to heart.

With a smile, she said, “Because you are taking care of me now, Bonnie. It’s different.”

“All right. I got two nice scripts. Take a look at them, choose one, and let me know.” Bonnie didn’t continue blaming her. She was just bitching about her jokingly. Actually, she liked Eva.

“Okay. Thanks.” Eva nodded.

Bonnie closed her laptop, stood up behind the desk, and hinted at Eva to follow her.

“Between the two scripts, I prefer the modern detective drama. Although it focuses on the male leading role, the female leading role can win favors from the audience. It’s pretty different from the role of Princess Jayde. In this case, the audience wouldn’t have a fixation on your image. It’s beneficial for your future development in multiple types of roles,” Bonnie said while walking.

“Ehn. I’ll think about it.” Since she hadn’t read through the scripts yet, Eva didn’t agree or refuse.

Not many people were so brilliant and rational as Eva, so Bonnie was happy about her reaction.

Shortly after, they arrived at the office where Bonnie wanted to introduce Eva to someone. The most famous stylist in Luxstar, Lisa, was in the office. Bonnie had informed Lisa about Eva long ago. This time, she took Eva over to change her appearance.

“Thanks a lot, Lisa,” said Bonnie politely.

“You are welcome. Last time, I also helped Ms. Sommers dress up. I didn’t expect we would become coworkers so soon.” Lisa was pretty clever, dealing with this occasion properly.© NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

After she helped Eva dress up last time, she was surprised to find that Eva didn’t work for Luxstar. Lisa felt that she had suffered a loss. Now, she greeted Eva with a friendly smile, not looking so upset and regretful as the last time.

“Thank you for your help, Miss…” Eva sat in the chair obediently and said to Lisa, looking at her in the mirror.

“Oh, come on. Call me Lisa,” Lisa instantly corrected her.

Eva was the only artist that Bonnie had taken care of after the last award-winning actress. Last time, Lisa saw Eva with Nathan. This time, Bonnie brought Eva to her office personally. Lisa believed that Eva must have a bright future in the business. Hence, she dared not to be arrogant in Eva’s presence, afraid to be embarrassed. She decided to be kind to Eva, which was much better than becoming an enemy to her.

According to Bonnie’s request, Lisa cut much of Eva’s waist-length hair and straightened her curly hair. Instantly, Eva became self-restrained. From her back, she looked like a college freshman.

Earlier, Eva’s appearance was too enchanting and eye-catching. After her hairstyle had been changed, she looked less seductive. However, unlike plastic surgery, the new hairstyle didn’t alter the aggressive aura on her face.

If Eva changed the jacket with the new look, many people would think she was a gentlewoman if she cast down her eyes in silence.

“Are you happy with it, Bonnie?” Lisa put away the tools and asked Bonnie in complacence.

“I like it. Then she won’t be considered the type of coquettish woman. She’ll play a cop in her new drama. This suits her better,” said Bonnie.

Looking at herself in the mirror, Eva was in a trance. Her appearance when she lost her wits five years ago overlapped her reflection in the mirror.

“Eva, wake up. You should thank Lisa,” Bonnie reminded her.

Eva returned to her senses instantly and forgot the matter five years ago. She said in a sweet tone, “Thank you so much, Lisa.”

“You are welcome. It’s my pleasure to help you, little fairy,” Lisa said with a compliment.

After giving Eva other reminders, Bonnie finally let Eva leave.

Right then, Eva still had fifty minutes before her agreement with Caleb ended. Hence, she didn’t go home in a hurry. She drove to William’s favorite bakery and bought two donuts for him. Then she drove toward Rosenfeld Hill.

While Eva was delightfully turning around while humming a song, a car rushed out of the intersection and hit Eva’s Bentley fiercely.

“Creak–”

“Bang!”

The harsh brake sound and the hitting sound mixed, instantly making the quiet intersection noisy.

Bentley had excellent safety measures. Immediately, the airbag bounced out. When realizing there was an accident, Eva wondered how much the repairing fee she would need to pay for the Bentley. She liked riding a motorcycle, but Caleb took it away from her forcibly because he thought it was too dangerous. He let her drive this Bentley, and he changed to driving a Rolls-Royce daily.

Then, the huge blow and mental shadow caused by the car accident five years ago attacked her.

When Eva lost her consciousness and lay prone on the steering wheel, blood covering her forehead, William suddenly tripped over at home. Caleb, who was inspecting his branches with the vice presidents in his company, felt a sharp pang in his heart. He stood motionlessly and couldn’t lift his foot at all.
