Simona requested of Skylar, “Skylar, can you take me to see Wendy? She’s having a harder time than I am right now. I’ve calmed down, and I know my be able to sleep if I don’t.”
Skylar looked at Simona, her eyes red and swollen. Her body was covered in bruises.
After a few moments of silence, she nodded. “Alright, I’ll take you to her.”
As Skylar and Simona stepped out of the ward, Joe, who had been sitting across from them, stood up.
“We’re just going for a walk. We won’t leave the hospital, so don’t worry.” Skylar assured him.
Joe nodded. Seeing Simona’s injured face, Joe thought to himself, “Those kids‘ lives are ruined for good.”
Simona had tried to threaten and reason with them when the incident happened, but nothing worked. In desperation, she called Aiken.
Several male classmates noticed Simona on the phone and immediately threw her phone away.
However, Aiken had already answered. Knowing where she was, he immediately called the police and rushed to save her.
When they rescued Simona, they also found Wendy and took her to Apollo Hospital.
Skylar and Simona stepped out of the elevator and heard a heated argument echoing through the corridor.

“Mom, Dad, you told me to wait a few years. You said I’d get five million dollars to buy a house and get married once she graduated. Who would be willing to buy Wendy’s for five million dollars now?
“What about that money now? I feel like going in there and killing Wendy myself! She’s ruined my life.” Keith Specter raged.
“That shameless girl! When she wakes up, I’ll beat her until you feel better!” Jimmy Specter’s voice was equally furious.
“Wendy’s just disgrace! If you had let her marry Mr. Snyder like I suggested, none of this would’ve happened! He would’ve easily paid the five million dollar gift.
“But no, you listened to Wendy about going to college, thinking the gift would be higher after she graduated. I bet Wendy just trying to deceive you all, making you support her education,” Keith said.
Valencia said, “Look at this hospital. Why did they bring her to this hospital? It’s the most expensive one in Jipsburg.”
Jimmy nodded in agreement. “I’m having them discharge your sister right now. She’s already disgraced us, what’s the point of her staying here? Who knows how much this will cost us each day?”
In the corridor, the three of them argued loudly.
Their conversation was filled with calculations and self–interest, with no concern for Wendy’s well–being.
To them, Wendy was just a commodity, and their main concern was her value.
Skylar thought of the Williams family and their similar selfishness.
Simona’s eyes were red with anger. She moved slowly because of her injuries.
Then, she pointed at the three and shouted, “Are you even human? You’re Wendy’s family. She’s already in so much pain from being hurt, and you blame her for everything! Why don’t you go after the people who hurt her?”
The three of them were momentarily stunned. They didn’t expect someone to speak up for Wendy. When they noticed Simona’s injuries and hospital attire, they quickly realized who she was
Valencia pointed at Simona and spat. “So you’re the other girl who seduced the boys? Who gave you the right to call the police?
“Did you corrupt Wendy and lead her into this mess? You’re both disgusting! How could you, at your age, be involved with so many boys?”
Simona trembled with fury and said, “You…”
“You? What are you talking about? At such a young age, not even 20 yet, and you’ve been used by several guys.
“How dare you criticize us? Wendy has been defying us lately, and it’s clear she learned that from you.” Keith’s gaze was cold as he assessed Simona.
Though he acknowledged she was prettier than his sister, he thought to himself that even if she had been used by others, he wouldn’t mind marrying her.
