My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul

Chapter-796

Chapter 796

Did Joe think she was delaying their divorce on purpose? The color drained from Skylar's face. She said, "I'll be staying here for three days at most. Then, I'll be heading back."

Caleb glanced at Joe, then his gaze slid back to Skylar. He picked up their subtle change in mood. Had they fallen out with each other?

Joe said nothing else and sat down. Skylar was silent too. If a stranger saw them now, they'd think Joe and Skylar were nothing more than friends. The air between them was frigid.

Paul felt his brain grind to a stop. What in the world was going on between Skylar and Joe? He asked Skylar when she would be coming home. He wasn't in a hurry to divorce her, was he?

Their flight lasted for an hour and a half. Skylar had closed her eyes before they even took off.

Caleb scratched his nose out borefrom. He snuck a peek at Joe. Then, he closed his eyes too. Joe's silence made the air around him drop to sub-zero temperatures. Paul couldn't help but button up his coat. He was burning with curiosity. However, he didn't have the guts to ask. They said nothing until the plane touched down.

Even while picking up their baggage from the carousel, everyone remained silent.

In the end, Skylar nodded at Joe before getting into the cab with Caleb. Paul heard Joe huff lightly.

"Mr. Martin, what's going on with you and Mrs. Mar-"Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.

He swallowed the rest of his sentence when Joe shot him a deathly glare.

Caleb finally voiced his confusion in the cab. "Are you arguing with Joe?"

"No," stated Skylar. Her heart had been heavy ever since she saw Joe at the airport. Her marriage with Joe was coming to an end. They should've kept each other at a distance from the start.

Caleb didn't quite believe her. He promised, "Do tell me if anything happens. If he dares bully you, I'll give him a stern talking to."

Skylar smiled and replied, "He hasn't been bullying me. Things between us are complicated. But we'll be able to resolve it."

Caleb couldn't comprehend the relationship problems adults got themselves into.

They would be staying at Cameron's place, Yates Residence. It was a little far from the airport. They only arrived after an hour on the road.

When they arrived, Cameron treated them to a lavish dinner. His two sons and two daughters joined them.

They didn't know each other. Thus, they only engaged in a bit of small talk.

After dinner, Cameron had them return to their rooms to get a good night's sleep. Work would only start tomorrow morning.

Skylar and Caleb didn't refuse his kindness.

The next day, Cameron was the only one having breakfast with them.

"They went back to their respective homes last night. Usually, I'm the only one living here," explained Cameron with a smile.

At his age, he needed to be more open and learn to enjoy solitude. His children and grandchildren couldn't keep him company 24/7.

"Let's go. I'll take you guys upstairs. I've kept my collection on the fourth floor."

After breakfast, Cameron led them upstairs. Skylar and Caleb trailed behind him.

"I remember coming to Yates Residence as a kid. I was a mischievous troublemaker back then. I nearly shattered a few antiques of his," said Caleb.

Cameron laughed and added, "Right, right. You were still young, around four years old. I can't believe you still remember. Time really flies. You've become an excellent young man in the blink of an eye."

They ascended to the fourth floor while chatting happily.
