Chapter 496 Cautious Inquires

The coldness in Jake's eyes disappeared soon. He then strode to catch up with Tiffany.

Several minutes later, the three of them walked into the therapy room.

As this clinic was invested by Tiffany, she didn't feel restrained like other patients did.

Jake inquired politely, "Ms. Shaw, what would you like to drink? Water or something else?"

Tiffany leaned against the sofa, not intending to hide her tiredness. She pressed her temples and said,

"Water is okay."

Just as she had finished the words, the young man sitting beside her moved closer to her and said

ingratiatingly, "Tiffany, let me rub your temples for you."

Tiffany looked up at him and declined with a smile, "Don't bother."

The young man insisted, "Tiffany, I feel sorry for you when finding you uncomfortable."

Tiffany asked, "Really?"

The young man nodded profusely.

Tiffany reached out a hand to pinch his cheek and sighed, "It's so great to be young."

The young man tilted his head, landed a kiss on Tiffany's wrist, and said, "Tiffany, you also look young."

He interacted with Tiffany as if no one else was in the room. Jake, who was taking water before a water

dispenser with his back to them, looked expressionless.

Jake had known Tiffany for many years and had gotten accustomed to her romantic affairs.

During a period several years ago, Old Mr. Farrell kept a close eye on her. To satisfy her selfish desire,

Tiffany had taken her paramour to Jake's clinic for fun with the excuse of having psychological

treatment several times.

Jake took two glasses of water calmly and then strode to Tiffany. He leaned forward and put the

glasses of water on the table.

Tiffany nudged the young man who almost leaned on her, glanced at Jake, and said, "I often have

nightmares recently."

Jake straightened up and asked, "What kind of nightmares?"

Tiffany replied, "They are the same as the nightmares I had before. However, the recent nightmares

had one more character, that is Old Mr. Farrell."

Tiffany smiled scornfully after finishing the words.

Jake strode to the single sofa opposite Tiffany, sat down, took a glance at the young man beside her,

and spoke with a smile, "Ms. Shaw, should we evade your friend?"

Tiffany glanced at the young man nonchalantly when she heard the question and replied, "No need." Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.

Jake continued with a smile, "As for your situation, indeed I analyzed it for you when we had a call two

days ago. We often have nightmares recently because you're two pressured."

Tiffany suddenly thought of something when she heard Jake's words and her expression changed

slightly. She adjusted her posture, gently kicked the young man's ankle with her high heel, and said,

"Wait for me outside."

The young man was very sensible and didn't raise any questions. He nodded obediently, stood up, and

walked to the door.

Tiffany watched the young man close the door and then shifted her gaze onto Jake, saying, "Blaine is

still alive."

Jake had learned about this earlier, but he pretended to be surprised and asked, "How could it be

possible?"

Tiffany picked up the glass of water before her fretfully, took a sip of the water, and continued, "He hit

my car last time. I saw it clearly."

Jake asked, "Why didn't you call the police?"

Tiffany said scornfully, "Why should I call the police? Isn't it more interesting to appreciate his

embarrassment of having to hide himself from place to place indecently?"

Jake asked, "Aren't you afraid that he may resort to some extreme ways when he's cornered?"

Tiffany replied, "He's just a loser no matter what fuss he can make. I don't need to be afraid of him."

It was true that Tiffany really looked down upon Blaine and her words were full of contempt and

sarcasm.

After saying those words, Tiffany paused for a while and then continued, "Jake, how long have we

known each other?"

Jake chuckled and then answered, "It's been too long that I can't remember it."

Tiffany said, "It's really a miracle that I didn't get insane after living in a prestigious family like the Farrell

family for years."

Jake smiled gently. He reached out to take the glass from Tiffany, stood up, and took another glass of

water for him. When he handed the glass to her, he deliberately said in a low voice, "You've

accumulated many burdens in your heart. Though you've been having psychological treatment in my

clinic over the years, you haven't opened your heart to me."

Tiffany moved her lips scornfully when she heard Jake's words and said, "I don't have the guts to do

so."

Jake replied, "It's understandable."

After Jake finished those words, both of them remained silent.

Tiffany didn't take the initiative to talk about the past, and Jake was not in a hurry.

About half a minute later, Jake slightly curled his fingers and broke the silence, "Ms. Shaw, I will leave

Cocanel about a week later."

Tiffany asked in astonishment, "Why?"

Jake replied calmly, "You don't need me to watch Faye anymore and it happens that I want to live in

another city."

Tiffany hesitated for a while and then said with a smile, "It's quite great."

Jake continued, "Thank you for your appreciation over the years. I won't become who I am without your

help."

Tiffany said, "You also helped me a lot privately."

Jake said, "Actually, I'm curious about a matter. You've asked me to watch Faye for years, but why did

you suddenly ask me to quit not long ago?"

In the face of Jake's question, Tiffany pressed her lips into a straight line without saying anything.

After a long while, Tiffany finally heaved a long sigh and said, "Because I want to draw a full stop to the

grudges among the last generation."

Jake smiled shallowly and said, "I won't probe into this if it's inconvenient for you to tell me."

Jake's voice was very gentle and the words he said were not aggressive at all, which gradually

loosened Tiffany's psychological line of defense. She said, "Jake, can people be forgiven after making

a mistake?"
