Chapter 489 The Stupid Rich Man

Chapter 489 The Stupid Rich Man

Recanalization Surgery usually took one to two hours.

Since Colin had entered the operating room, Abbot had kept talking with Faye without a break to fulfill

his commitment. And the topics ranged from astronomy to geography.

In the end, he had a sore throat, so he turned his head, pushed Ethan, and said, "Ethan, it's your turn

now."

Ethan said, "I am not as talkative as you."

Abbot retorted, "I did it for Colin, OK?"

Ethan teased, "You know who you did it for."

Hearing this, Abbot showed a slightly unnatural expression and said, "A straight foot is not afraid of a

crooked shoe."

Ethan didn't reply but rolled his eyes at him, implying that he knew he was acting.

Seeing this, Abbot felt guilty, so he raised his hand to touch the tip of his nose and turned his head to

continue chatting with Faye.

Faye was somewhat absent-minded as if her heart had followed Colin into the operating room.

Although she responded to Abbot from time to time, she didn't pay attention to what he was saying at

all.

After a while, Abbot saw that Faye did not want to chat, so he stood up, cleared his throat, and said, "I'll

go buy you a bottle of water."

Faye refused, "I'm not thirsty."

Abbot said, "But I think you are thirsty."

Then he kicked Ethan and said, "Stay here and accompany Faye. I'll be back soon."

And before Ethan could reply, he turned and left.

Neither Ethan nor Faye was talkative. So, as soon as Abbot left, they fell silent.

After a few minutes, Ethan felt the atmosphere was too embarrassing, so he took the initiative to say,

"Don't worry. This kind of minor surgery is safe."

Faye nodded, "I know."

Then, the atmosphere became frigid again.

Abbot walked out of the hospital and went to the convenience store opposite the street to buy water. He

casually grabbed three bottles of water and then waited in a lined to check out.

When he was swiping his phone with his head down, he suddenly heard a loud noise from the front.

"Don't jump the queue!" All content is © N0velDrama.Org.

"Miss, I'm pressed for time. Can you please let me cut in line?"

"I am also pressed for time! People are waiting for me to sign an order worth tens of millions of dollars!"

"Miss, you are so pretty. Can you do me a favor?"

"You have a sweet mouth. But unfortunately, it will not work on me."

Abbot seldom go to the convenience stores because his mother and the maids always bought

whatever he needed at home. And in the company, his staff purchased whatever he needed too. He

had never seen a queue jumper before, so he could not help raising his head to watch the fun.

But soon, he was stunned.

The queue jumper was a young man in his early twenties with short grey hair. But the woman who was

bickering with him was Rebecca who had vanished for several days. Since he had left the Black family

that day, he had lost contact with her. He had sent messages to her under the pretext of work, but she

had not replied. Rebecca seemed to have instantly changed because she had not responded even

when he had mentioned money.

When he was lost in thought, the crowd in front suddenly became noisier.

Seeing Rebecca remain unmoved by persuasion, the grey-haired young man suddenly adopted a

tough attitude and snapped, "I'm a VIP here! Do you know what VIP means? I am particularly important

to them! Do you understand?"

Hearing his words, Rebecca laughed out loud, "A membership card of a convenience store gave you a

sense of superiority? You're a VIP? You can try if others will let you cut the queue. But I am telling you,

I will never let you jump the queue in front of me even if you're the owner here."

Rebecca's voice was loud, so when she finished speaking, all the people in line burst into laughter.

The young man felt ashamed, and his face flushed instantly.

Rebecca glanced at him and lectured him with a stern face, "You should not have tried to take

shortcuts at such a young age. Don't you have the desire to advance?"

The young man had given up and decided to slip to the back of the queue. But when he heard her

words, he suddenly became unhappy and said, "Miss, I just tried to jump the queue. Does it have

anything to do with my desire to advance?"

Rebecca said, "I inferred from your words that you lack the urge to do things better."

The young man was speechless.

While Rebecca was speaking, it was her turn to check out. She put the bags of different sizes in her

hands on the check stand, turned around, folded her arms over her chest, and continued, "People must

be down-to-earth, OK? A while ago, a stupid rich young man pestered me to date him, but I refused

him without hesitation."

The young man looked at her in confusion, thinking her refusing a stupid rich young man had nothing to

do with himself.

After Rebecca finished speaking, she let out a long sigh of relief as if she had finally revealed the

secret that she had kept to herself for a long time.

After venting her anger, she waved at the young man and said, "Go to the back to join in the queue."

The young man had experienced her eloquence, and he dared not to retort although he was angry. So,

he could only walk to the end of the queue with his head down.

Rebecca kept staring after him as if she were afraid that he would take a shortcut in life.

After confirming that he was obediently lining up, she nodded with satisfaction and withdraw her gaze.

But when she raised her head, she met Abbot's meaningful eyes.

Abbot mouthed, "A stupid rich young man?"

Rebecca was speechless.
