Chapter 410 The One Who Walked the Walk

Abbot was too close to Maxwell.

He got to hear the conversation between him and the man on the phone clearly.

The word "pervert" suddenly popped into his mind.

Anyone who was mentally healthy wouldn't have said such a thing.

When the person on the other end finished talking, Maxwell responded in a deep voice, "I'll do it right

away."

The other party said in a cold voice, "You're useless."

Maxwell was speechless.

The other party said, "If you can't control your emotion and blew up my plan again, you would be the

first person I am going to get rid of."

Maxwell gritted his teeth, tried to not show his emotions, and answered, "Got it."

After hanging up the phone, Maxwell looked horrible.

Under that kind of atmosphere, an ordinary person would have tried to minimize his sense of existence.

But for someone as weird as Abbot, he wasn't an ordinary person at all.

Seeing Maxwell cut off the phone, he sneered, "So, you got your mental problem from your family!"

Maxwell remained silent. After a few seconds, he said, "Send Mr. Carter out."

After Maxwell finished speaking, the two bodyguards walked up to Abbot. One of the bodyguards made

a 'please' gesture and said, "Mr. Carter, Mr. Camden would like to get some rest. Please leave."

Abbot smiled disapprovingly without showing any intention of getting up and said, "Maxwell, what's the

difference between you and a puppet?"

Maxwell glanced coldly at Abbot. NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.

Abbot sneered, "If I were you, I would have rebelled a long time ago if someone treated me like that.

No matter whether he is my father or not."

After finishing speaking, Abbot got up with a contemptuous smile under Maxwell's sullen gaze and

said, "Speaking of which, you will be unable to defeat Colin in this life."

No one could tell if Maxwell was affected by the phone call just now, but when he looked at Abbot, he

had returned to his usual reaction which was emotionless.

After Abbot finished speaking, he glanced at Maxwell and walked away.

When Abbot returned to his ward next door, he saw that Colin and Faye were still there. He made a

"tsk" sound and said, "Are you two going to spend the night with me here?"

Colin responded, "I was worried that you might be killed and no one noticed it."

Abbot strode into the room and walked to the bedside table. He opened the drawer and took out his

cigarette case. He bit one with his mouth but didn't light it up, and said playfully, "I bet that Maxwell

wouldn't dare to kill me despite I giving him my permission. Don't you believe it?"

Colin said casually, "Well, that's true. Most of the time, he only beats you up."

Hearing Colin's words, Abbot responded while biting on the cigarette, "Colin, you just can't say

anything nice. Don't you?"

Colin raised his brows and smiled, "How do you know?"

Abbot replied, "It's way too obvious. It's just the way you look and everyone would have noticed it at a

glance."

After Abbot bickered with Colin for a while, he urged Colin and Faye to go home.

He sent them off into the elevator and gave Colin a wink before the elevator door closed.

Colin understood him in seconds. He put his hands in his pockets and winked back.

After getting off the elevator, Colin asked Faye to get the car. Then, he called Abbot.

When the call was connected, Abbot didn't meander and said bluntly, "Brandon is going to attack

Blaine in the next two days."

Colin asked in a tone that was unable to tell how he felt, "Is he going to kill all the offspring of the old

man?"

Abbot said again, "I've been staring at Maxwell all the time, but I couldn't sense there is any connection

between him and Bomsville."

Colin said in a deep voice, "Thank you for your effort all this while."

Abbot laughed on the other end and said, "Stop playing that trick with me. If you are sorry for me, you

should send someone to beat Maxwell up on the day he is discharged from the hospital."

Colin responded, "I wouldn't do anything illegal. I'm a law-abiding person."

Abbot smiled on the other end and suddenly said solemnly, "You need to deal with the matter in

Bomsville as soon as possible. If it doesn't work, you have to go there in person."

Colin chuckled and said, "It's rare that you would be so thoughtful."

Abbot said, "Well, I just feel sorry for you. I'm worried that if something happens to Lance and the rest,

Faye might be distressed and you would be influenced too."

Colin retracted the smile on his face and replied in a deep voice, "Um."

Abbot continued, "I know what you're worried about. But don't worry. Ethan and I got Brandon and

Maxwell."

Colin answered, "Thanks."

Faye's car arrived right in front of Colin when he hung up the phone with Abbot.

Colin stepped down the steps and walked around the car to get to the passenger's seat. Then, he

opened the door and got into the car.

When the car was leaving the hospital, Colin fastened his seat belt and said, "Is there any trouble in the

office that you need to handle personally?"

Faye replied, "Not for now."

Colin sat upright, stretched his legs, and said, "If that's the case, let's go to Bomsville tomorrow."

Faye tightened her hand which was holding the steering wheel and the corners of her lips pursed

slightly.

Colin noticed Faye's slight change of emotion. He put his hand on the back of her neck, pinched it

intimately, and said in a low voice, "Don't worry. I won't let anything happen to Lance and Emmett."

Faye responded, "Colin."

Faye wanted to say thank you but thinking of the relationship they both were in, the word 'thanks"

wasn't easy to come out of her mouth.

Colin laughed in a deep voice, "Dear, I told you that I will protect you regardless of where and when. I

mean it."
