Chapter 402 The Courageous Act
Chapter 402 The Courageous Act
Rebecca didn't expect to bump into any acquaintances during her hospital visit.
Colin and Abbot were tall which caused Rebecca didn't see Faye, who was behind them.
Rebecca waved her hand and greeted Colin first, "Mr. Farrell."
Colin raised his eyebrows slightly, glanced at Abbot's expression, and responded calmly, "Ms. Black."
Rebecca continued, "You guys are..."
She seemed to have something to say but she didn't finish. She looked at Abbot, who looked pale.
At that time, Abbot's fighting hype subsided, and the pain was killing him. When he saw that Rebecca
was looking at him, he pretended to be calm and said, "What a coincidence!"
Rebecca replied honestly, "I am here with my grandma for her checkup."
After finishing speaking, she looked at Abbot and hinted at Colin with her questioning eyes, "What is
this?"
Colin got Rebecca's question and explained to her, "Oh, Abbot made a courageous act."
Hearing that, Rebecca twitched her mouth slightly which she obviously didn't believe it. However, since
everyone was adults, she still had to be polite and said, "I didn't know that Mr. Carter was such a
helpful person."
Abbot said, "There's still a lot of things you don't know about me."
Rebecca laughed, "Haha."
She thought to herself, " I don't want to know anyways."
After Rebecca finished talking, Abbot glanced at her. He endured his pain and pushed away Colin, who
was holding onto him. He stood up straight and started to brag.
"Actually, this little injury doesn't bother me at all."
"It was Colin who made such a big fuss and forced me to come to the hospital."
"If it follows my way, I will just need to get some sleep at home and I'll be fine tomorrow."
While Abbot was talking, he strode forward a few steps to show that he was strong and suffered from
nothing serious.
Rebecca didn't say a word.
Colin was speechless.
After Abbot made his moves, Rebecca finally saw Faye who was blocked by him all the while.
When Rebecca saw Faye, she seemed happy. She walked to Faye, took her arm naturally, and said,
"Faye."
Faye couldn't help laughing and asked, "What happened to your grandma?"
Rebecca responded, "She is fine. She is just here for a full body checkup."
Faye smiled and replied, "Um."
Rebecca asked, "Why did you keep silent just now? I thought you weren't here."
Faye lifted her eyes and looked at Abbot, who was still striding to the emergency room with his teeth
gritted. She hold up her laughter and said, "To not upstage someone here."
Rebecca was confused, "Huh?"
Faye smiled but said nothing.
Rebecca's initial intention there was to get some water for her grandma. Since she met Faye, she
asked in a low voice, "Do you have water?"
Faye answered, "I have it in my trunk. Do you want me to get you a bottle?"
Rebecca nodded and said, "Sure. That would be nice. It saves me a trip to buy it."
Faye turned around and headed to the trunk to get the water for Rebecca. She asked, "I remember
there is a 24-hour convenience store on the first floor of the hospital. Don't they have any water?"
Rebecca followed behind Faye and sighed, "Yes, it is 50 cents more expensive than the outside."
Faye was speechless.
She took the water and handed it to Rebecca. Rebecca leaned over to Faye when she was picking up
the water, and asked in a low voice, "Abbot looks badly injured."
Faye replied, "Well, I guess his arm is broken."
Rebecca replied with a "tsk" and asked, "Is he being beaten up?"
Faye was confused, "Huh?" Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
Rebecca pouted and said, "I don't believe in what Colin has said."
When Rebecca finished speaking, she saw that Faye was tilting her head and looking at her. Faye
winked and said, "Isn't the way he speaks could get someone annoyed easily?"
Since whatever Abbot did today was to help her, Faye couldn't do something that was against her
conscience. She laughed lightly and said, "Abbot is indeed injured from a courageous act."
Rebecca was stunned, "I shouldn't judge a book by its cover."
While Rebecca and Faye were walking and chatting, Abbot was trying to endure his pain very hard at
the front.
Colin walked to his side with his hands in his pockets, and asked with a casual smile, "Are you sure
you don't need me to hold onto you?"
Abbot gritted his teeth and answered, "I am not in pain."
Colin debunked him and said, "Your face turns pale."
Abbot asked, "Is Rebecca staring at me from behind?"
Colin turned his head around and found out that Rebecca was indeed staring at Abbot. After she
glanced at Abbot's back, she turned her head and muttered to Faye.
Colin raised his hand and pressed his eyebrows with his fingertips, "It seems so."
Hearing Colin's words, Abbot had an expression as if he knew it all.
A few minutes later, a group of people showed up in the emergency room.
Maxwell had already been sent to the operating room. The doctor in charge of the emergency room
wasn't there. A nurse glanced at Abbot and saw that he was seriously injured. She said hurriedly, "Give
me a minute. I'll call the orthopedist."
After the nurse finished speaking, she trotted away.
Abbot sat on the chair. He was upset with the pain. He looked sideways at Colin, "Colin, do you have
any cigarettes?"
Colin reached into his pocket and took out two pieces of chewing gums, "Do you want these?"
Abbot twitched his mouth and seemed to be surprised.
Colin said calmly, "I quit smoking."
Abbot asked, "Is there something wrong with you?"
Colin unwrapped the chewing gum and threw one of them into his mouth. He said in a low voice while
chewing it, "I want to prepare myself for the pregnancy. You won't understand."
Abbot asked, "May I tease you with vulgarities?"
Colin thought for a while and answered calmly, "Yes."
Abbot gasped.
Colin said solemnly, "I don't care anyway."
The bickering between Abbot and Colin managed to divert his attention. After a short while, Abbot
seemed to be in pain again and told Colin, "Tell Rebecca that I am fine and she should go to get her
things done."
Colin turned his head and looked at Rebecca, who was discussing what were those good restaurants
with Faye. He turned around and asked Abbot, "Are you sure she's staying here for you?"
