Hearing what Abbot said, Colin chuckled and cursed before hanging up the video call.
Ending the call, Abbot stretched his legs and uttered, " Braxton."
His assistant looked up at Abbot in the rearview mirror and replied, "Mr. Carter, what can I do for you?"
Abbot asked, "Do you think Rebecca likes me?"
The assistant felt uneasy and answered with concern, "Well, probably yes."
Abbot clicked his tongue and said, "It seems that it's not me being narcissistic. Even you can notice it."
The assistant thought inwardly, "Ms. Black, I'm sorry!"
On the other side, after Colin hung up the video call, he took the lighter on the nightstand and was
about to light a cigarette.
As soon as he lit the lighter, a pair of fair hands appeared in front of him.
Colin raised his eyes and uttered, "Hmm?"
Faye said, "Smoke less, it's bad for your health."
Colin curved up the corner of his mouth and put the lighter into Faye's palm obediently.
Faye took the lighter and bent down to put it on the nightstand, asking, "Rebecca is with Abbot?"
Colin took the cigarette off the corner of his mouth and crashed it. "No, Abbot sent Rebecca to the hotel
and went home. When I gave him a video call, he was already on his way home," said Colin.
Faye nodded, lifted the corner of the quilt, and sat in. Leaning against the headboard for a while, she
uttered lightly, "I'm going to give Fanny's grandmother a funeral next Wednesday."
Faye sounded poised. There was nothing unusual in her expression.
Colin looked sideways at her for a few seconds. He then wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled
her closer to him. He made her sit on his laps and kissed her on the nape of her neck, saying, "I'll
accompany you then."
Faye compressed her lips and said, "Good."
Colin uttered, "If you feel distressed, just say it out. Don't think too much about it yourself."
Faye uttered, "Mm-hmm."
The next day.
Early in the morning, Faye got up to freshen up. As she was brushing her teeth, there was an incoming
call from Rebecca.
Faye tapped on the phone screen to pick it up. She said vaguely, "What's the matter?"
Rebecca snapped, "Is Abbot out of his mind? He sent me to a hotel in the suburbs!"
Faye froze in her tracks.
Colin had only told her that Abbot sent Rebecca to the hotel, but she didn't know that Abbot actually
sent Rebecca to the suburbs.
Getting no reply from Faye, Rebecca asked angrily, "What are you doing?"
Faye answered honestly, "Brushing my teeth."
Rebecca took a deep breath. She obviously flew into a rage as she stated, "Do you know where he
sent me? It's fine that he sent me to the suburbs, but he even sent me to the border of the suburbs! No
taxi in the middle of nowhere here. Did he want me to fly back today?"
Hearing what Rebecca said, Faye dissolved into laughter and said, "Then how do you get back? Shall I
pick you up?"
Rebecca uttered, "No need. I've contacted my assistant."
After that, Rebecca took two gulps of water and continued, "I can't even. It's not me being bitchy, but
Abbot is really pea-brained. Luckily, he was born in the Carters, otherwise he would have been beaten
to death." NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.
Faye broke into a smile and asked, "You drank so much last night. Did you lose your manners later?"
Rebecca said firmly, "Of course no. I fell asleep after I drank too much and woke up in the hotel bed."
Faye uttered, "That's good."
Rebecca said, "Don't worry, owing to the lesson last time, I will never make that kind of gaffe again."
Faye walked out of the bathroom with her phone while saying, "The point is you always have a
hangover after drinking."
Rebecca complained on the phone for a while before a knock sounded on the door. "I'll talk to you later.
My assistant is here," said Rebecca.
Faye uttered with a smile, "Mm-hmm."
Hanging up the phone, Faye went to the wardrobe and took out a suit. She scanned it intently and then
took out a thin shirt to match it.
Colin had something to do with his business this morning and left with Robert at seven o'clock.
Faye got changed and went downstairs to have breakfast. Since she had a bad appetite, she only ate a
little.
After breakfast, Faye drove to the company. On her way, she listened to the radio which was mainly
about the development of several old urban areas.
Faye was listening to it to divert herself from the dullness, so she didn't take it seriously but drove
smoothly.
As soon as Faye arrived and entered the office, Galen followed up with her with a pile of documents in
his arms.
Faye was making coffee with her back to him and uttered, "Just lay the files on the table."
Galen smiled lightly and said, "Ms. Nash, there are some files for you to sign now."
Faye turned her head and asked, "What files? Is it urgent?"
Galen smiled even more brightly and answered, "Yes, it's urgent."
Faye glanced at Galen and strode to the desk. After seeing the asset transfer agreements on the table,
she took a breath.
Faye propped herself up with her hands on the table wordlessly.
Galen asked with a smile, "Ms. Nash, do you feel particularly happy to marry a man like Mr. Farrell?"
