Chapter 358 Denying It
Before Rebecca could recover from the shock, Bryson let go of her hand, walked to the sofa, sat down,
and sighed with emotion, "Most women are unreliable now. They either like my handsome appearance
or my interesting soul. But none of them simply likes me because of who I am."
Hearing this, Rebecca suddenly understood narcissism was the tradition of the Carters like stinginess
was the tradition of the Blacks.
Bryson only had half the blood of the Carters, but he was so narcissistic. Therefore, it was imaginable
how narcissistic Abbot was.
When Rebecca left the Carters late at night, she had not had the chance to take the gifts out of the
trunk. Moreover, Camila sent her several new bags.
She repeatedly refused, but Camila desperately shoved the bags into the trunk.
Rebecca said, "Mrs. Carter, I can't accept them. I don't deserve them!"
Camila said, "Why? Even if you and Abbot can't be a couple, you can still be friends. These bags are
your reward for helping me tonight."
Rebecca glanced at Abbot who was standing beside them and said in a low voice, "Mrs. Carter, if you
want to thank me, can you put in a good word for me? I don't want Mr. Cater to hold grudges against Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
me."
Camila gestured 'OK' at her and said, "Don't worry. You can count on me."
Rebecca sincerely said, "Thank you."
Camila smiled, "There is no need to thank me. We're family after all."
Rebecca didn't catch it, so she said, "I beg your pardon?"
Camila replied, "Nothing."
Watching Rebecca leave, Camila turned to look at Abbot who was standing behind her like a wooden
stake, and then, she said, "Like father, like son. Your father was also like a fool when dealing with our
romantic relationship back then."
Abbot was speechless.
Rebecca drove the car away. Watching Camila and Abbot become two small points in the rearview
mirror, she played a piece of music in a good mood.
Feeling relieved, she suddenly remembered that Faye had intended to tell her something before she
had hung up the phone, so she found her phone number and called her. After a few seconds, Faye
answered the call and asked, "Have you left the Carters?"
Rebecca replied happily, "Yeah!"
Faye said, "Did you read the message I sent you?"
Rebecca asked in confusion, "What message?"
Faye was speechless.
Because Faye didn't answer the question, Rebecca picked up the phone, unlocked it, and then opened
their chat box.
When she read the message, the corners of her mouth twitched. And then, she suddenly turned the
steering wheel, slammed on the brakes, and pulled over.
Hearing the sound of tires rubbing against the road on the phone, Faye asked, "Have you read it?"
Rebecca swallowed hard and said, "Are you joking with me?"
Faye said in a steady voice, "Do you think I'm a person who would joke with you about such a thing?"
Rebecca answered truthfully, "No."
Faye's message was concise and understandable. It was only one short sentence, saying, "You might
have kissed Abbot after getting drunk that night."
Faye had used "might" because she was not 100% sure.
But it was negligible in Rebecca's eyes.
She leaned back in the driver's seat and tried hard to recall what had happened after she had gotten
drunk. After thinking about it for a long time, she still could only remember that they had been staring at
each other in shock early the next morning.
Abbot's eyes had been bloodshot. He had not slept all night.
Rebecca had thought he was angry because she had gotten drunk and occupied his bed.
Both of them had been neatly dressed, and she had not had any unusual feelings all over her body, so
she had never thought anything had happened between them.
After an awkward silence on the phone, Rebecca lowered the window to ventilate the car and said, "I
need some time to calm down."
Faye couldn't help laughing, "Are you afraid now?"
Rebecca pursed her lips and told the truth, "I'm not afraid. I am just shocked to hear it. How could I..."
While Rebecca was speaking, her cheeks began to burn, so she fell silent.
She could not believe that she had kissed Abbot.
After more than ten minutes, she became more upset instead of calming down. Finally, she gritted her
teeth and asked, "What if it is true?"
Faye said, "What do you want to do?"
Rebecca asked timidly, "Abbot won't hold me accountable, right?"
Faye smiled, "I don't think he will blame you according to the current situation."
Rebecca breathed a long sigh of relief, patted her chest with one hand, and said, "Thank God."
Then, she said, "Since he has never mentioned it to me, I will pretend it has never happened. Anyway, I
don't remember it. Even if he mentions this matter in the future, I will try my best to deny it."
Faye chuckled, "You know you are a light drink, so you should drink less when you go out in the future."
Rebecca swore, "I will learn the lesson and never repeat this mistake in the future!"
Hanging up, Faye smiled helplessly, holding the phone in her hand.
When Colin came out of the bathroom after taking a shower, he saw her smiling, so he raised his
eyebrows lightly and asked, "What did Rebecca say? She decided to deny that she has taken
advantage of Abbot, right?"
