Chapter 354 To Cover Up Clumsily
After Rebecca finished her words, she tightened her hold around his neck before Abbot got to react.
The next second, she kissed him on the corner of his lips.
Rebecca had never been in love, so she was not a good kisser.
By the time Abbot realized what happened, Rebecca had pried open his lips with her tongue.
Abbot's face flushed. He held Rebecca's waist and tried to pull her down.
Rebecca was kissing him intently. She was quite dissatisfied with what Abbot did; she frowned and
glared at him, saying, "Don't move!"
Abbot was rendered speechless.
Rebecca smiled and added, "Let me kiss you a little longer."
Abbot was sunk in memory, while a chuckle woke him up.
"Abbot."
Colin smiled in a low voice.
Abbot's recollection came to an abrupt end. He looked away from Rebecca's lips and turned to look at
Colin, asking "What's up?"
Colin fiddled with the lighter in his hand and said, "Did you two kiss?"
Abbot froze, and a touch of panic flashed across his eyes.
Noticing that, Colin caught on and clicked his tongue. "How was it?"
Abbot ground his teeth and huffed, "Don't say shit."
Colin joked, "You bored into Rebecca's lips so intently. People can tell as long as they're not blind."
Abbot glared at Colin warningly and stated, "You worked with her to trick me. I haven't settled it with
you yet."
Colin leaned against the chair and uttered mischievously, "Does Rebecca know about your kisses?"
Abbot was wordless.
Delight could be seen in Colin's glamorous eyes.
The four people had their own thoughts in their minds when enjoying the food at the dining table.
After eating their fill, Rebecca pulled Faye's shirt under the table and said, "Faye."
Faye caught on. She slightly pressed her lips together and opened her mouth after thinking for a few
seconds, "Abbot."
Abbot raised his eyes and uttered, "Hmm?"
Faye said unnaturally, "For the previous matter, Rebecca has already reflected on it. Could you please
let her off the hook?"
For that matter, Rebecca was definitely in the wrong.
Although Faye was a manager of PR in crisis, dealing with such a matter in which her friend was at
fault was more or less embarrassing for her.
Abbot did not say anything. He turned his eyes to Rebecca.
Seeing Abbot looking at her, Rebecca immediately stood up and smiled flatteringly. With a cup of juice Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.
in her hand, she said, "Mr. Carter, I've truly reflected on my mistake. Please be kind and let me get off
the hook."
Rebecca looked down at her juice and then looked up at Abbot, uttering, "I'll down it. You don't have
to."
After that, she drank up the juice.
She acted like she was drinking a cup of liquor.
The next second, it fell silent in the private room.
It was embarrassing for a few seconds before Colin played the role of a peacemaker and kicked
Abbot's chair leg under the table. "Abbot, Ms. Black has already apologized to you, you say something
at least," said Colin.
Abbot held the glass wordlessly.
Colin whispered, "Do you really want to make a fool of her?"
Abbot remained silent.
Colin continued, "Both of you are businesspeople. Besides, you two are still working on a project, so
you'll get to see each other frequently..."
Before Colin finished his words, Abbot said, "All right. Just let it go."
Colin looked at Abbot, who had mixed feelings, and cracked a meaningful smile.
Abbot kept a straight face and asked. "Have you had enough? I'll get the bill."
Colin answered in a jiffy, "I've had enough."
A few minutes later, they got to the hall. Abbot was paying for the meal, and Colin stood beside him.
When the waiter was swiping the card, Colin smilingly asked, "What do you think of Rebecca?"
Abbot pulled a long face and uttered, "Don't make trouble for me."
Colin laughed lowly and said, "It was my bad about this. I'm sorry, but I definitely did that for your good.
Rebecca is indeed a good girl."
Abbot looked sideways at Colin and uttered, "Then why don't you set her up with Ethan?"
Colin chuckled, saying, "Rebecca is frisky and bouncy. She is not suitable for Ethan, but she's perfect
for you."
Abbot uttered, "She's not suitable for me, either."
With that, Abbot took his bank card handed over by the receptionist.
Colin arched his brows slightly and stated, "All right, I promise I will never set you up with Rebecca
again."
Abbot uttered, "Mm-hmm."
Walking out of Marriott, the four people said goodbye in the parking lot.
Faye still had business to deal with, so she first went back to the company with Colin.
Since Abbot had drunk some wine, he took out his phone, about to call his driver, but Rebecca
suddenly asked him timidly, "Mr. Carter, how about... how about I give you a ride?"
Abbot looked down at Rebecca and said a moment later, "OK."
Hearing that, Rebecca gallantly went to open the car door.
On their way to Abbot's company, Rebecca was on about.
Her topic was basically about one thing: her remorse for what happened before.
"Mr. Carter, in fact, I initially wanted to play a joke on you, but it went a little too far later.
"Oh, to tell you the truth, I've also been feeling bad these days for fear of being discovered by you.
"Mr. Carter, I'm really sorry. For those gifts from your mom, I will pack them up and send them back to
her tonight."
Rebecca chattered for a long time, while Abbot rode shotgun silently.
Rebecca looked sideways at him and smiled awkwardly. "Mr. Carter, are you still angry with me?"
asked she.
Abbot swallowed and suddenly asked, "Have you ever kissed anyone before?"
