Chapter 339 A Crying Man
Hearing the leader's words, the man on the other side of the phone said in an old and hoarse voice,
"Call her. Tell her not to kill him."
He sounded as if his throat had been burned by a fire.
Hearing his words, the leader replied, "Got it."
When the leader hung up and was about to call Tiffany, Emmett, who was sitting in the chair, suddenly
smiled, "So, it's not Tiffany who is behind the scenes?"
The leader shot an angry look at him and said, "Are you courting death?"
Emmett asked, "Do you dare to kill me?"
When the leader stared at him with his cold eyes, he smiled provocatively and added, "If you kill me,
will the big shot behind the scenes let you get away with it?"
The leader said, "Sometimes, it's harder to live than to die."
Emmett sneered, "Really? But my mom taught me when I was a kid that better a bad life than a good
death."
Emmett was good at arguing, leaving the leader speechless.
The leader glared at him for a while, sneered, dropped a hint to his subordinates, turned around, and
left the warehouse with his mobile phone.
Soon, two men in black stepped forward, sealed Emmett's mouth with tape, and then began to hit him
with punches and kicks.
Emmett was a tough guy. Although his eyes turned red, he did not let out a single groan in pain.
Outside the warehouse, the leader called Tiffany.
After a few seconds, the call was answered, and the man said solemnly, "Ms. Shaw, we have caught
your little lover. He is in an abandoned warehouse in the suburbs."
Tiffany replied, "I will be there soon."
Two hours later, she arrived alone.
After parking the car, she walked in. As soon as she entered the door, she saw Emmett with a black
and blue face.
She frowned slightly, turned to look at the leader, and snapped, "Who allowed you to hit him without my
permission?"
The man walked up to her with a smile and said, "Ms. Shaw, don't be angry, I hit this bastard for you.
You treat him so well, but he still betrayed you."
Hearing his words, Tiffany showed a sullen look.
Seeing the faint anger in her eyes, the leader knew that his goal had been achieved, so a sneer flashed
across his face, and then, he kept silent.
Tiffany thought she had lost face, so she looked at Emmett sullenly, stepped forward, raised her hand,
and slapped his face.
"You bastard! I gave you an extravagant life! I did not expect you to conspire against me with Faye!"
Hearing her words, Emmett immediately looked at her in disbelief with a layer of mist in his eyes.
Seeing this, Tiffany felt a sting in her heart.
Emmett then began to desperately struggle in the chair, making a muffled sound in his throat. Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.
Tiffany took a deep breath and said through gritted teeth, "Don't tell me you didn't do it."
Emmett shook his head and burst into tears.
Seeing him crying, those men in black were more shocked than Tiffany.
He had not let out a single groan in pain when being beaten up. But he was crying now?
Emmett had been together with Tiffany for a while and could be said to be her favorite lover.
People would have a deep affection for their pets after raising them for a long time, not to mention a
person.
Moreover, Emmett was a pretty man.
Tiffany frowned at him for a moment and reached out to tear the tape off his mouth.
Then, Emmett said in a choked voice, "Why did you say I conspired against you?"
Who said only women could cry?
At critical moments, men's tears were more convincing than those of women.
After all, people believed that men did not shed tears easily.
If it weren't for a huge grievance, a man would not have cried so badly, right?
When Tiffany heard his question, her eyes flashed with a hint of suspicion before she said, "You did not
betray me?"
Emmett said, "If you want to break up with me, you can say it directly. I know you are blaming me for
causing you to divorce that rich man. You don't need to play such a trick with me!"
After shifting the blame to her, he said, "Although I am young, I know you rich people's way of doing
things!"
Tiffany was speechless, and the atmosphere remained heavy.
She stared at him for a while but didn't see any clues from his angry face, so she calmed herself down
and asked, "Why did Faye go to help you at Melody Lane today?"
Emmett said angrily, "I don't know what tricks your family is playing! Your daughter suddenly found me
and said she wanted me to be her kept man. When I was flustered, I called you, but you didn't answer
the call. So, I called Lance. He gave me Faye's number and told me she could help solve the
problem..."
Hearing this, Tiffany showed a gloomy face.
After a while, she took out her phone and dialed Faye's number in front of him.
When the call was answered, she looked at his face and said on the phone, "Faye, where are you
now?"
Faye replied in a deep voice, "At home. What's up?"
Tiffany asked, "Is Colin with you?"
Faye answered, "Yes."
Tiffany pretended to be embarrassed and smiled, "I heard Helen went to make trouble for Emmett
today. Did you help him?"
