Chapter 295 The Effortless Fruit
After reading the message from Lance, Faye folded her mobile phone and put it into her pocket. She
subconsciously looked up at Colin and found that his eyes were on somewhere else; he didn't look at
her phone at all.
Faye smiled lightly and said, "A friend."
Colin dropped his gaze and smiled mischievously, "A man?"
"Mm-hmm," answered she honestly.
Worried that Colin might get her wrong, Faye added, "Don't overthink."
Colin smiled more wildly and said, "I'm chill."
He then teased, "Baby, you are the one in panic."
Faye was rendered wordless.
Compared with the composure of Colin, Hank was not that calm.
He did suspect that Nylah worked for Blaine before, but Nylah never answered this question directly.
Even if he had asked her a few more times afterwards, she was always evasive and stumbled over her
words.
Hank's face darkened.
Tiffany was the first to perceive something wrong with Hank. She leaned over and asked in a low voice,
"What's wrong?"
Hank didn't hold out on her and handed her his mobile phone.
Tiffany took over the phone. With only a glance, she clenched her teeth and said in a voice that was
only audible to them two, "Old geezer, I can't believe he planted a spy by your side."
Hank looked unfazed and stated, "It turns out that the person my father has been guarding against has
never been Colin."
Tiffany was so angry by the sudden blow that she took several deep breaths to adjust her mood,
uttering, "I told you, no one in the Farrells is reliable. You have been being too kind."
Hank uttered, "Mom, calm down. Don't embarrass ourselves in front of Colin."
Tiffany smiled sarcastically. "Do you think he has nothing to do with what's happened today?"
Hank was subdued.
At the end of the day, whether it was Colin and Faye, or Tiffany and Hank, no one went in to appease
Blaine.
After the incident, both sides found a decent and hypocritical excuse to leave.
When they went out of the headquarters of Farrell Media, Tiffany and Hank left directly, while Colin and
Faye walked slowly down the steps.
Colin chuckled and said, "It's very likely that Tiffany and Hank assume what's happened today is C0ntent © 2024 (N/ô)velDrama.Org.
because of me."
Faye uttered, "Don't worry. Even if they doubt it, they won't take aim at you."
"Hmm?" Colin was curious.
Faye said lightly, "Don't you think it's stupid to confront two enemies at a time?"
Colin narrowed his eyes.
Faye compressed her lips and stated, "You can show yourself when both of them suffer great losses in
the fight."
Colin joked, "Baby, did you just say I was stupid?"
Faye walked down the steps and said, "Each of us has our own rules to survive. You have a lot of
connections, so you have the capital to be tough and fight them.
"I am different, my connections are not enough to support me to have a head-on conflict with them, so I
can only be patient to make plans step by step before I finally make it."
No matter how stupid Colin was, he could get the undertone of Faye's words.
She had connections in the Farrells.
Colin asked, "I'm curious about whom you have a connection with?"
Faye turned to look Colin in the eye and uttered, "I can't tell you now."
Colin chuckled, saying, " It doesn't matter, as long as they don't betray you."
Faye replied firmly, "They won't."
While the two were talking, Robert parked the car in front of them.
Robert got out of the car and helped them open the rear door.
Colin put his hand on the roof of the car and let Faye get in the car first.
When Faye was seated properly, he got in the car.
Robert was sad. He felt regretful for getting off the car, which seemed unnecessary.
After some time, Faye suddenly thought of the conversation between Colin and Hugh; she asked, "Are
Hugh and you very close?"
Colin turned to look at Faye with a faint smile, "What do you think?"
Faye answered, "I don't know. I don't remember."
Colin teased, "Of course... no."
Faye was rendered speechless.
Colin continued, "Hugh did attend a lot of parent-teacher meetings for me at that time, but he did that
because of Blaine's orders but not kindness."
Faye furrowed her eyebrows and asked, "Then today, why did you...?"
Colin said, "Hugh has been working for Blaine for such a long time, so he must have a lot of
connections."
Faye caught on to it in a heartbeat and uttered, "Which company did you ask him to work for today?"
Colin smiled as he answered, "You know the boss of that company."
Faye raised her eyebrows and asked, "Abbot?"
Colin shook his head.
Faye uttered, "Ethan?"
Colin still shook his head.
Faye thought for a moment, but she really couldn't think of anyone else, so she asked tentatively,
"Robert Sellers?"
Before Colin opened his mouth, Robert, who was driving in the front, couldn't remain silent anymore;
he said with a smile, "Madam, I'm flattered."
Faye didn't get the right answer after three guesses. As a result, she gave up and imitated Colin's tone,
saying, "It doesn't matter if you don't want to tell me. It's fine as long as he is reliable."
Hearing Faye's words, Colin chuckled and said, "Alexander."
Faye was stupefied and asked, "What?"
Colin uttered, "Wanna go and take a look with me?"
Faye did not know what Colin was planning, but she still nodded in confusion.
On the other side, Tiffany returned to the Farrells' old mansion and made a beeline for Hank's room.
Nylah, who had asked for a day off today, was sitting nervously by the bed at the moment. Upon
hearing the knocks at the door, she sprang to her feet.
Seeing Nylah, Tiffany flew into a rage. She strode into the room and raised her hand to slap Nylah.
"What an ingrate!"
Although Tiffany was furious, she dared not make a scene.
Old Mr. Farrell lived downstairs; not only was Hank grounded by him recently but she was given a hard
time by him. In that case, she didn't have the guts to do anything that would annoy him anymore.
Nylah's head tilted because of Tiffany's slap, but she bit her lower lip without making any sound.
Tiffany said angrily, "What did Hank do that dissatisfied you? Since you married into our family, you
lead a rich life, and we also give your parents money. How dare you team up with Blaine to deal with
him!"
In the face of Tiffany's questioning and abuse, Nylah said nothing.
After a few minutes, Hank, who had parked the car, pushed the door open and walked in.
Seeing the slap marks on Nylah's face, Hank frowned and stood between the two women, asking,
"Mom, what are you doing?"
Tiffany uttered harshly, "What am I doing? You should ask your wife who cost an arm and a leg when
you married her!! What good will it do to her to bring you down?"
Hank said, "Mom, I'll attend to it myself."
Tiffany asked, "So what are you going to do with it?"
Hank said calmly, "Mom, I saw Grandpa drinking coffee in the living room when I came back just now."
Tiffany looked at Hank and sneered, "You're impossible!"
After Tiffany left, Hank turned to take a look at Nylah. Then, he went to the window and lit a cigarette.
After taking two puffs, he uttered, "Let's get a divorce."
