Chapter 259 A Tacit Agreement
After hanging up, Faye drove back to Fennth Community.
As soon as she got home, she smelled the fragrance of dishes.
Hearing the noise, Cindy craned out of the kitchen and said, "Madam, you're finally back."
Faye stood at the entrance to change her shoes and smiled while saying, "Cindy, why are you still up?"
Cindy smiled and replied, "Mr. Farrell specially called me in the afternoon to tell me to grill baby back
ribs for you tonight."
Faye stopped in her tracks and asked, "Did he call this afternoon?"
Cindy answered, "Yes, he also called just now and asked me whether you were home."
Faye took out her mobile phone and took a look, but there were no missed calls or unread messages.
Faye compressed her lips and made a beeline for the bathroom in her slippers.
After washing her hands, Faye sat at the table and put a piece of ribs into her mouth. The meat was
crisp and soft, and the fragrance lingered in her mouth.
Cindy asked with a smile, "How does it taste?"
Faye smiled softly and uttered, "It tastes good."
With that, Faye had some pasta and seemingly inadvertently asked, "What else did he say on the
phone?"
"He" in her words naturally referred to Colin.
Cindy gently smiled, answering, "Mr. Farrell also said that if you asked what else he said, I should tell
you to call him before going to bed."
Faye's hand that was picking up a rib hovered over it. She lowered her head, and her ears turned red
instantly.
Colin had already foreseen that she would ask that question.
Seeing Faye's reaction, Cindy smiled. In order not to make Faye embarrassed, Cindy turned around
and went back to the kitchen.
Faye had already had dinner in Ralph James' apartment in the afternoon, so she was not that hungry
at this time. She simply took a few bites, stood up, and thanked Cindy before walking to her bedroom.
It was already one o'clock in the morning after a day of busy work.
Faye opened the wardrobe and took out her nightdress. She wanted to take a shower in the bathroom,
but after giving it a thought, she perched herself on the edge of the bed, picked up her mobile phone,
and made a phone call to Colin.
When his phone rang, Colin picked it up in a heartbeat.
"Hey, baby."
Colin's voice was magnetic, which sounded particularly bewitching in the dark night.
Faye's heart skipped a beat as she asked, "Still up?"
Colin chuckled on the phone, saying, "Waiting for your call."
Faye compressed her lips. "What if I didn't call you?"
Colin uttered, "I was sure you would."
Faye didn't know what to say.
The two had a tacit agreement in terms of this phone call.
Faye admitted indirectly to having asked Cindy what else he had said on the phone.
After several seconds of embarrassment, Faye took the initiative to ask, "Which project in the company
has gone wrong?"
Colin smiled and replied, "Just a small project."
If it was just a small project, how could he go on a temporary business trip so early in the morning?
Although Faye knew it, she didn't lay it bare. She simply asked, "Is it troublesome?"
Colin answered, "Nope."
Hearing that, Faye said, "Mmm. If there is anything I can do, feel free to contact me."
Colin laughed in a low voice and uttered, "OK, thank you, Ms. Nash."
Faye was rendered speechless.
This was the first time they had separated since they moved in together after Carlotta Kemp was
discharged from the hospital.
Faye could not tell what kind of feeling she had; she felt that somewhere in her heart was inexplicably
empty.
Since Faye didn't reply to him, Colin changed the subject and asked, "Have you had the ribs?"
Faye answered, "Yes."
Colin uttered, "Was it good?"
Faye said, "Very good."
Colin bantered with affection, "Why didn't I find that you were such a foodie before?"
Faye replied calmly, "I've always been like this."
Colin laughed out loudly and uttered, "What else do you like to eat? Tell me, I'll cook it for you in person
when I get back."
Faye looked down at her bunny slippers. She felt as if a feather tickled her heart. "You can't cook all the
dishes."
Colin answered seriously, "But I'd like to learn."
Faye could not help breaking into a smile in silence.
The two chitchatted on the phone. Faye looked at the time; unwittingly, it was over two o'clock in the
morning. "It's getting late. You probably need to go to bed now," asked Faye.
Colin was reluctant to hang up and said, "I actually wanted to make a FaceTime call to you tonight, but
I didn't expect it was a voice call."
Faye was stunned and said frankly, "Tell me directly about what you want going forward."
Colin asked, "Baby, are you ready to hit the sack now?"
Faye truthfully replied, "I'm going to take a shower."
Colin was silent for a moment before uttering with a mischievous smile, "Baby, I want to video-chat with
you."Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
