My Ex-husband Begs Me Back

Chapter 1577: Adjustment

Chapter 1577: Adjustment

Camille relied on Ayan's embrace while also hearing Kian's inquiry.

She managed to control herself well, but her body involuntarily tensed for a moment, then she casually glanced at Ayan's expression.

He didn't show much emotion, his deep eyes revealing a hint of indifference, so Camille couldn't figure out what he was thinking.

He didn't speak, just remained silent. Kian on the other end of the phone didn't hear a response either, so naturally, he didn't dare to hang up easily.

They remained silent for almost a minute before Kian's voice sounded again, "Mr. Simpson?"

Ayan responded with a low "hm" and said in a calm tone, "If you want to know if it's related to him, just check. If it is, then there's no need to pay attention to it."

Since they knew it was related to Preston, there was no need to give Preston any more attention.

Kian quickly agreed, and the call ended there. From NôvelDrama.Org.

Ayan put down his phone, and Camille immediately moved away from his embrace. She said, "It's getting late, I'm going to sleep. Are you leaving?"

Ayan made a soft grunt, pulling her back into his arms tightly, then he pulled the blanket over them and embraced her.

His actions brought a smile to Camille's lips unconsciously, and they fell asleep in each other's embrace.

The night, which initially felt like it would be sleepless, turned out to be a night where they slept very well with each other's presence.

However, the next day was a bit awkward.

Naturally, the awkward person wasn't anyone else but Ayan.

He came downstairs in the morning, during breakfast time. Since he was waiting for Camille to go out together today, he purposely delayed his arrival.

Fletcher and Talia, of course, knew early in the morning that he had stayed at the Simpson's mansion last night. After all, the car was parked conspicuously at the garage entrance, impossible to miss.

Camille, Fletcher, Talia, and Timmy were already seated in the dining room. Ayan just finished a phone call, so he arrived a few minutes late.

He walked into the dining room, and Talia pretended to be extremely shocked, exclaiming, "Oh my, Ayan, did you come back so early for breakfast?"

Ayan glanced at Talia and naturally understood that she was being intentional.

Ayan pulled out the chair next to Camille and sat down, then picked up his chopsticks to prepare for breakfast.

Fletcher spoke casually, "Your mom was talking to you. Didn't you hear?"

Fletcher was very protective of his wife, considering her his top priority.

Only then did Ayan say, "Hmm, I came back early specifically for breakfast. It's been a while since we had breakfast together, so I wanted to have a meal with you!" Camille suppressed her laughter.

Talia, however, didn't plan to give up just yet. She continued, "If you wanted to have breakfast with me, you didn't have to come back so early. It's quite a distance, and it takes time to go back and forth. You have a lot of work at the company, so if you want to have breakfast with me, I can pack it and accompany you in your office."

This time, Fletcher laughed along, and Timmy followed suit. Although they didn't know what the adults were laughing about, Timmy loved to join in the fun.

Camille didn't say anything, just pursed her lips and suppressed her smile.

Ayan was mocked by his own mother early in the morning, and he had no other way to respond but to endure.

However, the rest of the breakfast went relatively smoothly, with Talia not causing any further trouble.

After breakfast, Camille and Ayan left the Simpson's mansion together to go to the company. Before leaving, Talia took Camille aside and had a brief chat. She whispered, "He didn't leave last night, did he?" Camille nodded with a smile, "Mm-hmm."

Talia looked at Camille as if she already knew and whispered, "So, have you forgiven him?"

Camille was taken aback. Talia

could apparently sense the conflict

between her and Ayan, but it wasn't surprising since their relationship was easy to read. She pursed her lips and sighed silently before continuing, "It's not a matter, forgiveness between us. There are certain things we can't discuss at the moment. However, I've made myself clear to him. We'll talk again once I've figured everything out."

After Camille finished speaking, Talia nodded in understanding and said, "Your relationship with Ayan is something for you two to handle, won't interfere. Just make sure you're not being mistreated. If

there's anything you can't overhe

on your own, you can tell me or let Grandpa know. We're on your side."

Talia unconditionally supported Camille, no matter the circumstances.

Camille opened her arms and hugged Talia, a rare display of affection. In this moment, she couldn't quite control her emotions, so it felt natural to take the initiative.

Talia gently patted Camille's back and said tenderly, "Go and attend to your tasks. I'll go spend some time with Timmy. I've ordered a batch of flowers, and today's mission is to arrange them."

Talia had a deep fondness for flowers, so their house was always filled with various expensive blooms.

After bidding farewell to Talia, Camille left the house and found Ayan waiting for her in the car.

As she got into the car, he asked casually, "What did you talk to Mom about? It took so long."

Camille replied, "Mom asked you to go directly to her if you ever bully me. She'll make sure you regret it."

Ayan chuckled and grasped her wrist, pulling her into an embrace. He held her gently and said, "Do you really think I've been bullying you?"

"I was just reminding you to keep it in mind at all times," Camille retorted with a smile.

Ayan leaned in and kissed her passionately before stopping.

The two of them drove away from the Simpson's mansion. Before leaving, Timmy was taken by Fletcher to the backyard for fishing. Camille didn't specifically inform him that his mother was leaving. Now that he was older, he sometimes cried, so she decided to slip away quietly.

Camille felt it wasn't right to leave like that, but for now, she couldn't bear to see Timmy cry. She needed to adjust her emotions and thoughts, and then she would explain to Timmy that she had to go to work but would return.

The world of children was truly difficult, with so many things to consider.

Ayan first dropped off Camille at the company before heading to Simpson Group himself.

After their conversation the previous night, their relationship had returned to its previous state. As for what was in Camille's mind, neither of them brought it up.

Camille arrived at the company, and Yessica was already there. She quickly asked, "Cami, how did things go between Mr. Simpson and Mr. Fletcher yesterday?"
