Chapter 1487 Avoidance

Kian nodded in agreement, then Ayan continued, "She likes to use her assistant's phone, right? In the future, arrange any meetings with Daisy through her assistant's phone."

Kian nodded once again.

Then he left the office to contact Kerry.

After Kian left, Ayan immediately dialed Camille's number.

Camille answered quickly, her voice sounding a bit unusual, showing no indication that she had just been in contact with Daisy.

She said, "Why are you calling me at this time? Aren't you busy?"

There was a hint of amusement in Camille's words, as if she was saying, "Mr. Simpson, are you slacking off?"

Unable to discern Camille's tone, Ayan was unsure of her current mood.

He paused briefly before saying, "Is there anything you want to tell me?"

Camille was taken aback, "Tell you what?"

Realizing Camille didn't want to disclose anything, Ayan asked directly, "Did Daisy call you?"

Camille blinked and then smiled, "Yes, she did."

She didn't say anything further, nor did she ask for an explanation or express any other attitude.

This lack of reaction left Ayan feeling uncomfortable, his voice becoming lower. He said, "I will take care of her situation. For now, she won't leave Hance City because I have reached a cooperation agreement with Tillery's Corporation, her father's company. So, until we succeed, she will stay in Hance City for a while."

Ayan had not mentioned his plans and intentions to Camille before, as he had never discussed his cooperation with Kerry.

It was best if fewer people knew about this, especially since his collaboration with Kerry was just beginning. Once Kerry and Daisy were truly together, their partnership would deepen.

Camille nodded slightly to show she understood, but her response remained subdued.

Ayan asked, "Is there anything else you want to say?"

Camille responded, "No."

"Really nothing?"

"Yeah, there's nothing I want to say." Because she had already said what she needed to, and Daisy wasn't an important person to her, she didn't have strong emotions about the situation.

But Ayan didn't share this view. He was still concerned that she might be upset. He said, "Are you not angry with Daisy?"

"Why would I be angry with Daisy?" Camille countered.

Ayan was at a loss for words, unsure of how to respond.

He paused before saying, "If anything bothers you, tell me, okay?"

"I know, don't worry, I'm not angry because of Daisy's provocations. I knew from the start what she thinks of you, but your attitude gave me confidence. So, I'm not angry at all." If she were truly angry, Camille wouldn't react like this, especially towards Daisy, nor would she say anything extreme.

Because she had already vented her feelings, Camille had no reason to be angry at Ayan for this matter.

Camille's words eased Ayan's worries, and he no longer felt the need to explain himself to her.

Ayan said, "If you're unhappy, tell me."

"Okay, I know, you can trust me!"

Camille was appreciative of Ayan's response, as he cared about her feelings.

The two chatted for a while, avoiding any mention of Daisy.

Camille didn't want to talk about it, and Ayan naturally refrained from bringing it up. As for Daisy, he wouldn't personally approach her or treat her in any particular way, as she was different from women like Shen Youran.

As long as Kerry resolved the situation with Daisy, Ayan wouldn't give Daisy any face. For now, he would adopt a hands-off approach towards Daisy for the sake of Tillery's Corporation.

However, this didn't mean he wouldn't do anything at all.

After finishing the call with Camille, Ayan received a response from Kerry through Kian.

Kerry mentioned that she hadn't seen Daisy for the past two days, indicating that she might be avoiding her. Upon inquiring with those around Daisy, it was said that she had been busy these past few days.

Kian became curious at this response, prompting him to share his concerns with Ayan, "Mr. Simpson, do you think Daisy might be up to something sinister?"

Ayan was also surprised because Daisy was unfamiliar with Hance City. During her time here, apart from going out to sightsee, she mostly stayed in her hotel, under his surveillance.

But now, Kerry mentioned not seeing Daisy for two days, which was indeed strange.

Ayan looked at Kian and asked, "Have you asked our contacts?"

Kian nodded, "I did, and they said everything seemed fine. Daisy would go out to a cafe every day for a while, then accompanied by her bodyguard and secretary, she would go shopping, just like before."

"Is that all?"

"Yes, that's the information we currently have. I plan to meet our contacts in person to get more insight. Perhaps there's something we overlooked?"

Ayan narrowed his eyes, his gaze distant and indifferent. He said, "Take a look, see if there's anything unusual at the cafe she frequents."

"Alright, I understand," Kian replied softly.

Ayan fell silent, his gaze turning contemplative.

Kian hesitated for a moment before adding, "Mr. Simpson, there is still no definitive information about Elijah. It's as if he evaporated into thin air."

Not even their contacts could find any trace of him, which was indeed strange.

Kian had many questions but didn't know where to start.

Ayan remained unresponsive to his words, as if he hadn't heard.

Seeing this, Kian decided not to wait any longer. He looked at Ayan and said, "Mr. Simpson, I will go deal with the Daisy situation now."

Ayan simply acknowledged with a sound, and Kian quickly left the office.

As soon as Kian left, Ayan picked up his phone and made another call.

The person on the other end answered promptly, "It's me." Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

"How is the situation now?"

"We haven't made any progress yet. He still has some suspicions about me, so I can't make any rash moves."

"Alright, do it quickly. Time is running out. If things don't change, you won't need to use your phone to contact me." Ayan gave a calm instruction, his expression impassive.
