Camille frowned slightly, looking at Grace with a somber expression. Her voice was husky as she said, "They might be the ultimate revenge. If you still want to see Regina on that side, I'll have Ayan arrange it. Don't disclose anything about Vere to her. Let her think Vere is still in the hands of the kidnappers. Let her never find peace in her heart."

Regina's most important person is Vere, so let's use Vere to punish her.

Grace raised her hand to cover her face and took a deep breath before continuing, "I know, I won't be soft-hearted."

She couldn't bring herself to be soft-hearted when she thought of her mother's cause of death and her state.

Grace would still go see Regina to inform her about the outside situation. Only this would make Regina suffer and torment while inside.

The two of them stayed in the villa for almost an hour before leaving.

The four of them got in separate cars. Camille and Ayan went back to Franklin Bay, and Grace and Horace went to Maple Leaves Mansion.

Knowing Grace was feeling low, Horace had food delivered to the house so she could eat as soon as they got home.

Horace kept a close eye on her, with concern and worry in his eyes. As they waited at the traffic lights, he reached out to hold her hand and spoke gently, "Why so quiet?"

Grace managed a forced smile and said, "Don't know what to say."

"Say whatever you want. Don't keep anything from me, okay?"

"Okay, I know," Grace said, but ultimately, she didn't say anything, also harboring something inside without knowing how to speak about it.

She thought she needed to find an opportunity to talk to Ayan alone. But it wasn't likely at the moment, as the matter of the Armstrong family had not been fully resolved, and her uncles called the next morning.

Both uncles called to invite Grace and Camille to their house for dinner that night, as a way to strengthen family ties after Page's passing.

Grace didn't directly agree, as Camille's warning from yesterday made her more cautious.

Grace said, "Uncle, just tell me what's the matter. We just finished dealing with mom's affairs, and neither Camille nor I feel like dining out."

The uncle replied, "People need to eat, no matter the circumstances. Come over and let your aunt make you some soup. It's settled."

The uncle didn't give Grace a chance to refuse and finalized the arrangement.

Faced with this, Grace looked to Horace and said, "Since the uncle can make this call, it's clear that if we don't go, they won't stop insisting."

Horace said, "Ask Camille how she feels."

She nodded and agreed to ask Camille.

She then explained the situation to Camille, who happened to be with Ayan at the time, and naturally, Ayan overheard it. Ayan spoke up, "Since they're inviting you both for dinner, just go."

Knowing the uncles well, if they didn't go today, there would be tomorrow, and they might even spread the word that they distanced themselves from their uncles since Page's passing, tarnishing their public image.

Ayan said, "Go openly, and I'll have the journalists with good relations to Simpson Group take photos of you going to dinner and post them online. Let everyone know you're dining at your uncle's house tonight."

Both Camille and Grace had no objections.

And so the dinner was set.

After the call, Camille asked Ayan, "Why did you agree?"

"We'll have to go sooner or later. It's better to go now or later, but going now won't do you any harm. But afterward, who knows? They might slander you," Ayan said, fully aware of the processes and tactics, as they weren't aiming for small gains but millions and shares of Armstrong Corp. With Armstrong Corp now operating more normally and having a promising future with projects in collaboration with Simpson Group, how could these uncles not be tempted?

Ayan told Camille, "Even though this dinner shouldn't be unsafe, we should still be cautious. I'm worried they might act out of desperation. I've arranged for a bodyguard to accompany you."

"Can a bodyguard enter the house?"

"Bring some gifts, and then let the bodyguard stand guard. If anything happens, he'll go in first. Just remember, your safety is the most important in any situation."

Camille nodded. "I understand."

To legitimize the addition of the bodyguard, Camille also bought some fruits for the uncles, not wanting to spend too much money on these unimportant people.

But the fruits weren't cheap; they were all high-end fruits. The bodyguard carried the fruits inside with them and then left to wait outside.

The big uncle lived in a villa, which was relatively spacious and well-decorated.

On seeing both Grace and Camille come with gifts, the two uncles glanced at each other and then politely said, "Come on, come on, what did you bring?"

They spoke those words but were honest in their gestures.

There was a cook at home, and the food was almost ready.

The uncles urged Grace and Camille to sit and talk while they interacted with them. The cousin, who had been warned by Ayan, coldly snorted at the two and was obviously very displeased.

Catching sight of this, the two aunties hastily made an excuse, "He's just had a breakup, not in a good mood."

Camille, of course, didn't believe it, and Grace simply gave a indifferent nod.

The two aunties looked at the uncles, eager to speak but holding back.

The uncles, however, just said, "Let's eat first. Dinner's about to be served."

After they were seated, the uncles were very warm toward the two, constantly offering dishes and urging them to eat.

Camille didn't eat much because her attitude remained as cold as ever. Grace, on the other hand, found it hard to resist her emotions and even started crying when the uncles spoke to them.

"Your mother, my sister, died a pitiful death, a truly pitiful one!"

"My sister never suffered since she was young, and after marrying your father, she didn't even have good days. Your father is despicable to have done such a thing. It's fortunate that her two daughters are obedient, especially Camille, who is already married into a good family like the Simpson family. From now on, we must stick together as a family and not become a laughingstock. When your mother was alive, she doted on your cousin and nephew the most. From now on, you three are siblings."

When the word "siblings" was mentioned, Camille's eyebrows raised involuntarily.

Interesting.
