Mr. President’s 12
Nathan’s mind had been in a deep freezer after his liule banter with Mercedes. Her words had pierced him so deeply, it gorged his mind with a new thought process. Was he that bad? He knew for a fact that women drooled over him. However, he was tempted to believe her words, looking at the dollar note on the wall. He also thought back to her weighing his performance to be below the average of a real man. Could that be her reason for not considering him as her type?
Was his performance so bad or was it because he hasn’t done it before for as long as he could remember and lacked experience? This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
He wished he could try it with somebody else but the consideration in itself sickened him. He couldn’t ask Jane because his moment with her was an unaccountable one. He couldn’t recall a thing about what happened that night, unlike Mercedes, He had quite a lot to drink but recalled everything vividly. She seemed to be in pain and even tried pushing him away but he was stronger than her so how could she grade him that way?
Nathan never gave in to defeat and he wasn’t going to do–so–now. He was Nathan Legend. He gets what he wants and this time, all he wanted was Mercedes Winters in his bed again. The more she resisted and threw haughty words at him, the greater his need for her. This time, he won’t only make her squirm but also scream his name with both want and need. He wasn’t her type? They would see about that.
Bruno left quickly as if a gun was pointed at him. Mercedes was slightly uncomfortable when Nathan knelt before her. His dark
gaze charred her brown ones when he touched the softness of her right foot. Mercedes shivered slightly. She didn’t understand why he made her feel that way. She didn’t like it and tugged her feet behind. “I can do it,” she murmured.
“Be a lady, Miss Winters, I’m already on my knees. Surprisingly, there was no arrogance in his tone. Rather, it carried a touch of gentleness and a velvety that was rather romantic. Mercedes felt something tickle in her stomach. She has never felt that way about anyone and couldn’t explain what it was.
on her
He slipped her right foot into the stiletto in admiration, before the left foot. Her feet were small and cute. His hand feet infused strange vibes in Mercedes. “Thank you, Mr Legend,” she said politely, while she picked her purse on the centre table and stood from the sofa.
Nathan lifted himself from the floor and straightened his tie. He was about to put on his Blazer when a frail hand grabbed it. “I can help. Mr Legend, her voice was soft and polite, the corners of Nathan’s lips curled.
He didn’t refuse as Mercedes helped him to put on his Blazer. She knew how to do it because she had helped Griffin with it a lot of times. “Thank you,” Nathan curtseyed, and showed her the door. Together, they got into the President’s elevator, then Nathan’s car. Naturally, he held the door for her. Judging from afar, they seemed like a perfect couple but in actual fact, it was just a boss and his assistant.
The atmosphere in the car was tense. Mercedes had never ridden with any of her bosses in the past. Why did her car have to be in the workshop today of all days? Nathan’s car hallowed the notion that money ain’t shit. She could buy a brand new car with his steering wheel alone.
When they got to the luxury hotel, Nathan got down and held the door for her at the entrance before tossing the car key to
the valet.
They walked close to each other without body contact while they got to the private dining room. It was a clear indication that the whole room had been booked for this special dinner. It was well lit and decorated with the most expensive chandelier and furniture, echoing the taste of luxury.
The world seemed to be quite a small place because Mercedes instantly recognized a face at the large luxury dining table. Never had she expected to ever meet Mr Hayes in her life ever again. Life never seemed to give what one needed. It played by its own facet of fate. Mercedes pretended to not know him when she got closer, taking note of everyone present. As an assistant, she was spot on. Who knows when Nathan might need her to meet any of them? She had to acquaint herself with

everyone present.
She thinned her lips, blooming into a beautiful smile while she greeted the sophisticated guests. Among the twelve stakeholders, there were only two women, one middle–aged, and the other was Thelma, Vincent’s assistant. Mercedes, cheeks scorched with embarrassment when every eye pinned on her. She hated the lecherous gazes of those old men.
Most of them were expressions of shock, admiration and lust. Before Mercedes could pull the seat opposite Nathan’s, he had already pulled one beside him and unged her to sit on it. This little act was enough to make everyone gasp in confusion, including Vincent. They have never seen Nathan so susceptible.
Nathan on the other hand didn’t want anyone hitting on Mercedes. He espied each of his guests sharply, discerning their intentions. He also couldn’t help but notice certain unusual faces, which he didn’t address immediately since faces were missing as well.
Nervousness flung Mercedes at the complicated expressions but it was quite a relief seeing two women, which relaxed her from the debauched gazes of the
ravenous wolves in Men’s clothing in front of her. The waiters got to work, instantly serving the appetizers.
“I would like you to record the conversations with your phone and be able to produce a report first thing in the Nathan’s hot breath aired Mercedes’s ears.
morning.
She couldn’t believe it. To send him the report first thing in the morning? When would she be able to work on it then? She wanted to retort but chose silence. She would find a way out. She turned on the phone recorder in her purse before veering her attention to Nathan, who had begun addressing the stakeholders.
Welcome to our fifth stakeholders‘ meeting. First and foremost, the woman beside me is my assistant, Mercedes Winters. From now onwards, arrangements for these kinds of events would have to go through her.”
There were traces of visible excitement on the faces of the vicious men. The President’s assistant was hot but he loathed women so there wasn’t a possibility of him being interested in her, which meant they stood a chance. That’s good to know. All we need is her cell phone number and email address,” Mr Bitman, one of the stakeholders exclaimed, an air of craving crisped around him
Mercedes was repulsed by the attitude of the men who were supposed to be honourable. They carried the voice of customers, workers and some shareholders. Meanwhile, they behaved like animals in heat, grinning shamelessly. “Email address, yes but cell phone number, no. You can reach her on my office line. The intercom is connected to her office as well,” Nathan responded to Mercedes daze. She never thought that Nathan would even detect the shameless attitude of his stakeholders, talkless of protecting her. Right now, he reminded her of Griffin.
Disappointment flooded them like rain as Nathan continued, “what do we have planned for the end of the year, Mr Sima?” Nathan addressed a middle–aged man, who looked quite young for his age.
He cleared his throat and responded, “to discuss the end of year events, Mr Legend. We have met with our staff and they think having the end of year dinner every Christmas is quite boring. We understand it’s done that way because of our shareholders but they don’t even attend so they prefer a party,” Mr Sima explained politely.
This was the only meeting where Nathan wasn’t his usual cold self. He received reports on things to make his employees happy. Throughout Mr Sima’s speech, Nathan had observed a peculiar gaze in Mercedes, which inade him upset. Instead of responding to the petition, he turned to the man asked,
“You are?”
Mr Hayes jumped out of his trance. He hadn’t been able to keep his eyes off of Mercedes when he saw her again. She was more stunning than a few days ago. “Mr Hayes of Nodcom but I’m standing in for my cousin, President Yates.”

President Yates was a shareholder and Nathan had respect for him. He also knew the former was a busy man but always made it to the areholders meeting and never to that of the stakeholders. He sent different people to represent him at all
times.
“That is understandable but may I know the reason why your focus is on my assistant, instead of the ongoing discussion?” Nathan directly chided, his demeanour turned cold. Before Mr Hayes could speak, he asked again, “Do you have a problem with my assistant?”
The atmosphere had suddenly strained with the awkward charring. Mr Hayes was slightly nervous but he so wanted to get into Nathan’s good books. He pleaded with his cousin to give him this opportunity because he wanted to acquaint himself with Nathan.
However, the presence of Mercedes had sent him sprawling. Still, he recalled vividly the fight Mercedes put up when he made advances at her but if he could make Nathan fire her, then she would come running back to him and he could place his demand and make her dance to his tune. “Your assistant used to work for me and I must be honest with
you. She isn’t who you think she is.”
