Mr George, Don't Be So Arrogant

Chapter 82 I Will Tell You What I Want When I See You

Chapter 82 I Will Tell You What I Want When I See You

“Pass me the phone.”

Riley stretched out her hand for her cellphone. She wanted to see if Euan had texted or called her

because she had not returned all night.

Sarah passed it to her.

Riley took a deep breath and turned on the screen. The interface was empty; there was no notification

for missed calls or any messages.

Her heart sank. Did this mean that her marriage with Euan had really come to an end?

But why was she so reluctant to let go?

Even though she knew that if she went back, she will only receive indifference and pain but she was

still reluctant.

“By the way, Riley, how were you poisoned? The wine we drank last night was the same, how come

only you got poisoned?”

Sarah’s question came at the perfect time.

True, how was only Riley poisoned?

She tried to recall every detail of last night to try and figure out what on earth went wrong. How did the

poison enter her body? Who was trying to hurt her?

“I don’t know either.”

“You won’t just let this matter go, right? Even if you ignore it, I won’t. I must make the person who

harmed you pay the price for their actions. Rest well! I will go back to the bar to check the surveillance

footage and find out the person responsible for this and take revenge!”

“Don’t be impulsive! The people in that bar are not easy to mess with, you might offend someone. You

are a woman, if you go there you will be bullied.”

“Then what should I do? Call the police? The police are all fucking useless, okay? Well, if it can’t be

done, then… also, about this, are you going to tell Euan?”

Euan?

Riley shook her head, “No, the less we get him involved, the better. You go home first to eat and

change your clothes. Then go to my apartment and pick up a couple of my clothes for me to change

into. You must be really tired. Thank you for doing all this, Darling!”

“Of course, I am tired. How are you going to pay me back, with your body?”

“Okay, let’s get married!”

“Fuck! Get what now? Will you be okay committing polygamy?”

‘Fuck! That was the wrong thing to say.’

Sarah left quickly.

Her words had awakened Riley from her dream.

She was right! Even if Riley wanted to start a new life, with William or… even just to regain her

freedom, she had to get a divorce first.

It had been almost four years since she had been walking on thin ice in this horrible marriage and she

felt depressed every day. She wanted to breathe freely.

The only way she could start again was by leaving Euan.

At this moment, the phone in her palm vibrated.

The name that was shining on the screen was Euan.

‘Why would he call at such a time?’

Riley bit her lip and tried to adjust her heart rate, breathing back to normal. After thinking about what

she was going to say, she picked up the call.

As she placed the phone to her ear, Euan’s deep and somewhat cold voice came, “What excuse were

you thinking about making that you took so long to answer?”

Listening carefully, the sarcasm in his angry voice was mixed with disgust. He must have thought she

went out to party wildly last night.

In other words, all of this was a consequence of her partying wildly.

Why, even though she was in the hospital half-dead, she still felt remorseful in her heart. Riley hated

the way she always felt inferior in front of Euan!

She gritted her teeth and said bluntly, “Why, Euan? Why can you be at home spending passionate

nights with your woman, but I can’t go out with my friends? I know I am your wife on paper, but this

does not mean that you can take away my freedom and oppress me!”

Oh!

He asked her just one question and she bombarded him with such a long speech. She was not the

same woman she was three years ago.

Was it that she grew up or was she becoming less and less concerned about her husband?

Euan was obviously not going to let Riley be arrogant in front of him. He stared at the tall sycamore

tree outside the study window while drumming his slender fingers on the cedarwood table. The air

around him turned chilly.

“Wherever you are, come back now. Don’t try to use your work as an excuse. If you say one more time

that you need to be at work, I will immediately have you fired, no… I will shut down the hospital.”

He was not discussing or even arguing, he was threatening in clear words. If she didn’t obey him, he

was going to use his means and ruin her career completely.

“Euan, you can’t do that! You are joking around with tens of thousands of lives!” Riley choked her

words out from her dry throat.

Euan held his forehead with his long fingers, his angular face looked a bit tired. He couldn’t remember

how many times he had gone out into the living room. He almost hadn’t slept last night.

Like she had said once that he could check her duty schedule. Damn it! He had done the most stupid,

the prettiest thing ever, he had actually checked her schedule.

But last night she had gotten off work at the regular time and was not in the hospital in the night!

How could Euan not be annoyed?

“Well, Dr. Watson, since you are so concerned about the patients, you’d better show up at the villa right

now, otherwise…”

“Euan, what on earth do you want?” Riley didn’t want to listen to him. He had the ability to emotionally

break her every time he spoke.

A blue vein was throbbing visibly in Euan’s temple. A gush of early summer wind blew in through the

window brushing across his handsome face. It was only early summer but he felt chilly bitterly.

“What do I want? I will tell you what I want when I see you.”

He meant he wanted her at the villa and there was no room for negotiation.

Riley closed her eyes and gritted her teeth, preparing herself to answer. But before she could say

anything, she heard a crisp sweet voice on the other side.

It was Lydia’s voice. The voice was flirtatious, affectionate, soft and gentle.

“Euan, how do I look in this dress? I am going to attend an event.”

Lydia was wearing a long dress. She had entered the study without bothering to knock and twirled

around for Euan to see. She was wearing a thin long dress with a deep V neckline which accentuated

her cleavage effortlessly.

Any man would have minded if his woman went out looking like that, but Euan just said wearily, “Looks

nice.”

Hearing him, Lydia blushed and smiled happily, “Thank you. There are going to be many reporters in

the event, I will pick some nice photos and bring them back.”

Euan still held the phone in his ear, he did not hang up the call. He didn’t even move it away from his

ear, “Okay.”

He dismissed her in just three words.

There was already a storm raging inside Riley’s heart.

He had never told her that she looked nice. She used to dress up very carefully before. When she went

to the George family’s banquet, she had carefully selected a long backless dress before getting ready

and then asked for his opinion. Seeing her dress, Euan had rejected it indifferently, “What are you

wearing? Change it!”

After that, she had never asked for his opinion about her dressing.

Of course, after that, he chose all of her clothes for events and family banquets.

Her aesthetics were not up to his standards.

“I will give you one hour! That’s it!”

After finishing speaking, Euan hung up the phone. Riley sneered coldly at the dark screen, “Euan, do I

owe you something from my past life?”

Grieving, Riley pulled out the IV needle from her hand, lifted the quilt off herself, and got out of bed.

“Dr. Watson, what happened?”

The person who came running was William. He had changed his clothes and washed his face but the

redness in his eyes was still very clear.

“I have to go now. I need to be discharged.” Riley bent over to get her shoes, but bending over made

her dizzy as the blood flowed into her head and her head throbbed with pain!

William strode over and helped her straighten up, “What happened?”

“I need to go home, Euan asked me to come back.”

Riley didn’t think before blurting out her personal affairs in front of William. After speaking, she realised

and changed the subject embarrassedly, “I… I need to wear my shoes.”

William paused in his actions and looked up at her, “Do you want me to go with you?”

He was very happy that she had shared her distress with him in an emergency.

“No, I can go by myself. Umm… pretend you didn’t hear what I said just now.”

The damage was already done.

William’s hands clasped around her shoulders lightly, “You can treat it like you didn’t say it, but I can’t

treat it like I didn’t hear it. Tell me whenever you need me, don’t try to handle it all by yourself, okay?”

The ambiguity suddenly spread between them as Riley’s feelings became a little complicated. Sarah’s

words came to her mind again. Such a good man like William…

No, she couldn’t think too much right now.

“I don’t care what you have to do. You have to come back in three hours. The toxins in your body are

not yet cleared. If you spend more time than that, your life will be in danger.”

“I know,”

Don’t forget, she was also a doctor.

Looking at Riley’s stubborn figure from behind, William had mixed feelings in his heart.

She still refused to be close to him.

Her weak body seemed like she would fall at any moment. Luckily, she got a taxi.

Arriving at the villa, Riley just opened the door. Before she had time to change her shoes, a tall black

shadow shifted from the living room to her at an alarmingly fast speed.

The hard arm yanked her slender wrist and yanked her up without a second thought.

The strong man dragged her from the corner of the living room into the long corridor. She never landed RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only

her feet during the moment.

Bang, she was slammed down on the bed by Euan.

Knitting her eyebrows, she felt very pain in her back and almost shouted out.

“Flirting all night and never come back home. Do you still remember who you are?”

He said the sentence, not in a reprimanding manner but surprisingly in a helpless manner.

But Riley was so tired to distinguish his tone. She propped up on the bed and sat up, “Say, what do you

really want from me?”

Euan’s tall and upright figure stood with his back facing the window. Only a circle of light in the

backlight inlaid his circumference with a layer of gold silk. His face was trapped in the darkness and his

expression could not be seen.

“Tell me, what do you really want?” He did not answer her question but throwing the question back at

her.

Riley gripped the bedsheet with her finger. She felt very uncomfortable as if something was devouring

her internal organs, “Euan, I just want the divorce certificate. I don’t want a single penny of your

property, status, position, and fame. I don’t want anything. I only want to divorce.”

He knew that she would ask for a divorce.

“Don’t let me hear the word ‘divorce’ again. It is impossible to divorce.” Euan clenched his fist. He

looked at her with his cold, solemn, and frosty eyes. He felt pain.

She couldn’t see it.

Riley sneered, “Just think that I’m dead, can’t you?”

Euan approached her step by step, “Riley, are you a heartless woman!”

Riley who was feeling extreme pain sneered eerily. She gritted her teeth, withstanding the pain,” Do

you want to open my stomach and see? Euan.”

He furiously pinched her chin as if she wanted to pinch her until she was dead. Out of the blue, his

finger suddenly stiffened. Her face and lips turned as pale as a sheet.

“What’s wrong with you?!”
