Mr George, Don't Be So Arrogant

Chapter 32 Damn, I was Hurt Again

Chapter 32 Damn, I was Hurt Again

The arrival of a popular celebrity at the hospital for a pregnancy checkup was already big news that

could shake the whole city, not to mention solely with the influence of the name, Lydia Saunders could

already dominate the front page of the newspapers.

There was no need to explain more on the sensation and the influence given when the president of the

MBK International Corporation, Euan George also kept her company. Although both of them, or maybe

including Riley, three of them had stayed low profile by driving the car straight into the underground

garage, they did not manage to escape from the journalists’ encircling.

Upon seeing Euan’s luxurious Rolls-Royce car stopping, a bunch of journalists filed in as if they were a

bunch of sharks which had discerned the smell of blood. Riley who was in the car slightly wrinkled her

eyebrows.

She was just an ordinary citizen and until now, she was absolutely an outsider of the incident. Seeing

the looming journalists surrounding the car with microphones and cameras in their hands tightly, she

felt amused and frustrated at the same time. Euan also frowned. He turned back and glanced at Lydia.

“We can’t go out now. There’re too many people. It’s dangerous.”

His care was certainly useful against her and she nodded with a warm, gentle smile. “I’ll listen to you

and wait for a while in the car.” Riley pouted with a carefree attitude. “From their look, I think they won’t

give up in such a short time. Could popular celebrities not know how horrifying the professionalism of

the journalists working in entertainment is?

They could stay here for the whole day without eating or drinking. Therefore just staying in the car

won’t solve the problem.” Euan then only glimpsed at her listlessly and his cold voice did not show any

emotion. “You sound like you have a way to solve the problem?”

Riley frowned and as she just opened her mouth, Lydia chimed in, “Maybe you don’t know, but she’s

good at dealing with these matters. She was the one who chased the journalists blocking the corridor

away when I visited you in the hospital last time.”

Riley let out a grim smile. So she would not give up until she seized an opportunity to betray her? How

good memory she had! “Euan, I think we should let Doctor Watson handle the matter this time. She’s

the doctor here, and she’s very experienced.” Lydia always spoke with a soft and gentle voice. Her

sweet and pretentious voice nearly made Riley vomited due to disgust when she heard it.

As Riley had not calmed down her stomach yet, she heard Euan’s deep voice slowly coming from the

side. “Since you’re that experienced, I’ll let you take care of the journalists outside.” She slowly opened

her eyes and replied, “Me?”

“Why? It’s your place, could you possibly want me to deal with it myself?” he spoke with authority and

had rejected her chance to explain. Riley gently bit her lip. He wanted her to stay safely in the car but

her to deal with those predators outside? She let out a grim smile and loosened her seat belt.

“Sure, I’ll go.” As she opened the car door, her skinny figure was drowned amidst the sea of journalists

who were pushing against each other madly. She who was not short was banged and pushed in the

middle of the journalists who composed of both men and women, and there were several times which

her legs were not on the ground!

“Miss Saunders! With Mr. George sends you here for pregnancy checkup, does that mean the good

news is just around the corner?”

“Mr. George, Miss Saunders has mentioned wanting to endorse the jewellery products of MBK lately,

would that be suspended because of this?”

“Mr. George, would the production of Miss Saunders’ new movie cease too? Rumors say you’ll

compensate for every loss of the movie crew, is it true?”

Barrage of questions from the journalists stormed into the car through the door which was not yet

closed. Euan held the door handle with his long hand and his fierce look was shot across the crowd.

The white shadow was staggering amidst the mad, zombie-like journalists.

Suddenly, Riley let out a scream. Her scream was not loud compared to the mix of questioning sounds,

yet Euan still wrinkled his eyebrows. He slammed the door next to the front passenger’s seat shut and

gripped the door handle at the left subconsciously.

“Euan, those journalists are too scary. I’m slightly worried of the baby…” A soft voice came from

behind. The helplessness and grievance arouse one’s sympathy. “Don’t worry, she’ll handle it well.”

Euan once again glanced at the crowd, but Riley was nowhere to be found anymore.

Riley gasped when she felt the pain from her knee. The wound on her knee which was going to form

scar was abraded once more from the banging just now and the sharp pain spread through her whole

body from the knee.

Luckily she had finally made her way out of the crowd! She endured the pain and straightened her

back, moving her legs which were covered by long pants and looked for the security guards. A dark

shadow dashed before her and she felt a moment of blackout. As she looked up once again, she saw

the flawless face with a gentle look above her at the side. “Why are you here?”

William held her who was going to fall with one hand. “Me? I was late, and I didn’t expect to witness

such a scene. What about you?”

“I’m fine. I have to look for the security guards to chase the journalists away first. Lydia Saunders is in

the car.”

William looked down and lifted his eyebrow when he saw her long pants drenched with blood. “Your

knee needs to be treated now, I’ll help you upstairs.”

“It’s okay, go find the security guards first. Lydia Saunders is coming for a pregnancy checkup today, if

anything happens to her, it would be a bad influence to the hospital.” Riley refused and she wanted to

remove his arm.

William frowned more. “I don’t know Lydia Saunders, but your knee needs to be treated immediately.

From the color of the blood, the wound must have lasted more than two days. Come with me.” Facing

Riley’s stubbornness, Doctor Hardesty could only apply the basic principle a doctor should have to

force her to get treatment.

The action of him putting his hand on Riley’s shoulder and back to hold her up was seen by Euan.

Euan’s fingers trembled and he who was inside the car wrinkled his eyebrows. He did not expect that

woman was living such a fantastic life in the hospital.

“Doctor Hardesty, call the guards! I’m asking you to call the guards!” Riley struggled and nearly tossed Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

William away. Feeling startled, William replied, “Okay, you stay here. I’ll make a phone call now.”

Phone call? Oh shit, she was so angry that she had forgotten she could actually make a phone call! It

was just that before William’s call could get through, the door of the Rolls-Royce car was suddenly

pushed open by Euan.

“Mr. George! Mr. George! What is the relationship between you and Miss Saunders now?” Riley turned

around and her enthusiastic eyes met his cold eyes. She could see the blatant disgust in his eyes.

Lydia was shocked when Euan suddenly got out of the car.

She then pushed the door open and got out. Riley drew a cold breath when she saw her nearly pushed

by the journalists. But she quickly realized in grievance that her worry was pointless when Euan

protected her perfectly in his arms. “What relationship? You’ll know after some time. For now, please

don’t delay Lydia’s checkup. If any harm is caused because of your disturbance, I’ll definitely take the

necessary actions.”

Riley squeezed William’s suit’s collar. She stood away from the crowd and gazed silently at the man

and woman who were hugging each other. She was filled with deep grievance and her eyes were filled

with boiling tears. How amusing.

Didn’t he pretend that he did not want to be disturbed by the press? What did it mean when he was so

carefree to admit it now?

He said he wanted her to find the security guards, but in fact he only wanted to shove her off to avoid

her getting the journalists’ attention. Why should it be that complicated? If he wanted to be with his love

one, she could just quit.

Euan’s imperative tone of voice made the crowd felt a chill down their spines. Although they were

reluctant to let go of such a good chance, they did not dare to badger him any longer and they slowly

moved away to form a narrow path in between, following the two who were hugging each other tightly

to the lift.

The journalists all made phone calls excitedly to report the new findings and the crowd scattered soon

after that. “Doctor Watson?” William called and the woman who was grabbing him only then reacted.

She loosened his collar in a hurry and quickly tidied her emotions. She spoke so coldly as if she had

encountered her enemy, “Why are you still here?”

William was speechless at once. “How could I move when you’re grabbing my collar?” Riley recovered

her usual distant and apathetic manner. She kept a distance from him and said, “Okay, you can go

now.” William burst into laughter. “I can’t go now, because my patient’s right here, and I have to

guarantee my patient’s safety.”

Patient? As she looked around, she suddenly felt her legs being lifted and her arms were clamped by

his strong big hands. “Doctor Hardesty! What are you doing?”

“Treating you.”

Euan and Lydia’s arrival had nearly attracted the attention of all the doctors and nurses from the

obstetrics and gynecology department. Half of them were giving service while the other half was just to

watch the fun. The new nurses were exhilarated and they were so eager to see the idols in person. If

not because of the supervisor of the department still had some rationalities, the whole department

would only serve Lydia specially.

William forcibly pressed Riley down onto a chair of an office of the emergency room. “The wound on

your knee needs to be sterilized and the blood has to be stopped. If you still want your pants, you’ll

have to…”

“No need. Just cut it open,” Riley said curtly and William smiled when he heard that. “You’re truly a

legend.” Riley looked up to him and replied, “Thanks.” William held a pair of scissors and pinched one

corner of her pants. He adjusted the position of the scissors and cut horizontally right above the wound.

Seeing the bloody wound, he chuckled. “It’ll hurt when I treat you, do bear with it.”

“Can you treat it or not? If you can, please hurry. If you can’t, I’ll do it myself.” How talkative!

William knelt on the ground and he placed one of his hands on her knee. As a surgeon, his fingers

were clean and long. His fingers were pleasant to see and his nails were neatly cut. It was difficult to

forget his hands after one sight. “Of course I can. Do bear with it.”

He squeezed a cotton ball and touched the wound with it. The sterilizing process was very painful that

her flesh and skin were going to tear apart. It was not hard to imagine the level of pain, yet Riley did not

utter a sound as she gritted her teeth. William was surprised and he asked, “Does it hurt?”

“Do you want to have a try?”

“Me? Forget about it.”

William was quick in treating wounds. It only hurt for a while during the sterilizing process and it was

actually comfortable after that. His bandage wrapping looked nicer than hers before and it did not affect

her movement at all. With this his professional skills were entirely shown.

“Thanks Doctor Hardesty. If there’s nothing else, I’ll go upstairs now.” Riley stood up and wanted to

leave after saying that. William kept away his tools and smiled amiably. “You don’t sound grateful,

Doctor Watson.”

“Sorry, that’s the only way I speak. It’s up to you whether you accept it or not.” As she finished her

words, she walked without caring her torn apart, bloody pants. One of her legs was placed outside the

entrance. William looked at the medicine bottle in his hand and let out a wry smile. “Doctor Watson,

what relationship do you have with those two who were surrounded by the journalists just

now?”
