Chapter 100 Dr. Hardesty’s Romantic Embrace

After Euan had rushed to answer, William added, “I’m afraid this won’t work, I only booked two rooms

and I don’t think it would be appropriate for Sarah and me to share a room.”

Sarah then said, “Of course it’s not appropriate!”

Riley said, “Then how about this, Sarah and I can share a room together which means you two can

both share the other room…”

Damn! How could she even suggest this? The situation between William and Euan was currently very

awkward; there was perhaps even a chance they would destroy the room if they had to share one

together.

William accepted this arrangement since Euan and Riley didn’t share a room together, “I’m fine with

this, but I’m not sure if Euan is willing to suffer for just one evening?”

If Euan didn’t agree then he would just appear unreasonable and this was not gentle at all, so in the

end he had no choice but to accept it.

The two rooms were on different floors, one being on the second floor and the other on the third floor of

the villa. Riley and Sarah were to share the master bedroom on the third floor, and although the room

on the second floor was also a master bedroom, the size was not the same.

“Riley, my heart feels as if it’s going to stop beating! How was your husband able to find us here? This

has scared me so much! I really fear that Euan will end up fighting with William!”

Sarah was clutching her chest, gasping for breath.

“Well, I only told one of the servants, but how could I have expected he would still find out? He should

have been at home today with Lydia.”

Lydia was really a headache.

“My god, do you think a war will erupt in the room downstairs? I’m very worried about the state this

house will be left in.”

Today really was very awkward.

Inside the bedroom downstairs.

Euan was sat down on the sofa with his slender legs crossed as if he was he was the one in control,

“William, what intentions do you have towards my wife?’

William who was holding a glass of water was sat down on the opposite sofa, “Riley is a very great

woman, as for what intention? What do you think?”

He seemed to not be afraid that he was signing a death wish.

“I don’t care what your intentions are for her, but I advise you to keep your distance from her. Because

I’m afraid that not even you would be able to deal with the consequences if you were to take things

further.”

William took a sip of water and then put the glass down on the table. “Everyone is attracted to beautiful

things, she is your wife I know that, but you should also know that in the end your marriage is only

bound by a marriage contract, which is nothing compared with the true love between two people.”

“Love? So what you have between yourself and my wife is love?”

It was clear, Euan’s words were full of sarcasm and anger.

William shook his said, “Frankly speaking, no, she hasn’t accepted me yet. However I think that she

doesn’t have much love for you either, otherwise she wouldn’t do something that might break apart the

marriage. I also think that you don’t love her too am I right? People will always be happy with true love,

but as you see her now, do you think she is happy with you?”

Euan wanted to shoot him down right now.

“Mr. Hardesty, even though you are just the third wheel between Riley and me, you seem to think you

are so proud of what you were doing, you looked quite confident. As her husband, I would like to issue

an honoured certificate for seducing my wife.”

“Euan, I have no intention of getting involved with your marriage. I only hope that the person I care

about can be happy, even if the person she chooses in the end isn’t me.”

“Don’t worry, she won’t be choosing you.”

“Perhaps, but not necessarily.”

“This is just your assumption, not the facts.” Euan didn’t want to talk nonsense with him anymore; this

woman would be his forever, so why did others think they could get involved?

Either get lost or die.

“Mr. George really does possess much power, so it would be very easy for you to bring me down. Not

just me, but you could even bankrupt the hospital with just one word if you wanted to. However,

fortunately you are still a man of integrity, and I would hope that you wouldn’t do something like that to

me.”

What was he doing? Flattering him to save himself?

He definitely won’t be a person to something in that way.

William said nothing else, but wondered whether he could actually win this battle or not.

As they went downstairs Riley and Sarah saw that the two men were already up and sitting in the living

As Riley walked over, both Euan and William turned their heads at the same time and said in unison,

“Did you sleep well?”

It sounded like a natural greeting that William would say, but it sounded slightly strange coming from

Euan.

Riley nodded at the two of them, “Very well, how about the two of you?”

The two of them both answered the same.

But as she thought about it, it was strange that the two of them were able to sleep so well in the same

room.

Sarah then quickly rushed over to break the awkwardness, “I’m hungry, can we eat something?”

“Of course, we were just waiting for you two to come downstairs.”

Euan then grabbed her hand, “Let’s go back after breakfast.”

“Why so soon?”

“Is it because of the location or the people?” Euan held her hand tightly; right now he just wanted to

hide this woman away into the villa and never let her out again!

Due to the unpleasant conversation from last night, Euan wasn’t able to get much sleep.

Same for William.

“I promised Sarah that I would accompany her for two days, so if you need to go back now then that’s

fine.”

He was holding her hand not that tightly, but she didn’t try to struggle free.

“You made me come here, but you don’t want to leave with me?’

What a joke!

“How did I make you come here?”

She didn’t understand.

“If you didn’t want me to come then why did you tell the servant where you were, and then even tell

them that you wouldn’t be returning home for the night? You think I wouldn’t be able to take the hint?”

By god, She had no idea how that had made him think this way.

Riley’s and William’s phone then suddenly started to ring at the same time.

“Dr. Watson, you need to come to the hospital right away! A large fire broke out somewhere in East

District, and now the hospital is in chaos!”

William and Riley then looked at each other and said, “We need to get back to the hospital now!”

She had just started eating.

“Life waits for no one, we need to go to the hospital… but you both can stay here and eat.”

Riley got up from the chair and walked out; right now she turned out to be Dr. Watson, she cannot think

about anything else but saving life.

“I’ll drive.”

When William said this, his phone then rang again, “The patient’s intracranial is ready to be punctured!

However if it’s rushed then the cerebrospinal fluid drainage will be too dangerous… alright, preparing a

ventilator and 1mg of adrenaline.”

Riley’s phone then also rang, “Yes?”

Despite seeing the two of them in this state, Sarah had no intention to eat anymore.

Euan who was furious pulled back the chair rather aggressively and as he walked past William said,

“No, I’ll drive!”

Getting one call after another and he still planned to drive? Was he not afraid he would crash the car

and die before even getting to the hospital?

Riley who was still holding her phone looked at him in astonishment…

“What are you doing just standing there? Come with me.”

William, who was still giving instructions to the trainee doctor on how to give emergency treatment to

the patient, went with Riley to go with Euan.

Riley looked back at Sarah, “You stay here and bring the things with you when you leave.”

William threw his car keys over to Sarah and said, “You can use my car to drive back.”

They just left Sarah behind like this.

The black Rolls-Royce sped along the road with Riley sitting in the passenger seat and William in the

back. The two had been answering countless calls since they had gotten in the car.

Euan who was a good driver was focussing intently on the road, he looked pale.

“Drive faster! The patients can’t wait any longer!”

Riley cared a lot for her patients, and in between the calls was asking Euan to drive faster.

Euan gave her a cold look, “If you want to die then I can drive faster.”

“The patient is struggling to breath and will die if he isn’t treated in time!”

Euan was starting to get irritated; he was already driving at 200km per hour, so if he went any faster it

would be extremely dangerous!

“So what? People are dying everyday of old age and other sicknesses.”

In his mind he only cared about the ensuring the person he cared about lives.

The speed was indeed very fast, but when Riley heard that the patient can’t breathe, just one second

could be the difference between life and death.

“Don’t talk nonsense! Hurry up, or the patient really will die!”

Riley was so anxious that she had completely forgotten what kind of person Euan was.

Euan knew the seriousness of the situation, but he really was driving as fast as he could to ensure their

safety.

“Sit tight!”

All of a sudden the Rolls Royce began to speed up even more like a meteor flying through the sky.

God… the speed of the car really was too fast.

Once they had arrived outside the door of the emergency room of the hospital, Riley and William

pushed open the car door and got out. The ambulance had just arrived at the same time and the two of

them ran over to it.

“The patient has inhaled a lot of smoke into their lungs, they need oxygen!”

“Dr. Watson, this patient jumped out of the building in a hurry…”

William strode over and touched the patient’s body with his fingers, “The ribs are broken, along with a

bone fracture in the leg. Dr. Watson, press down on the patient’s heart to see if there is any internal

organ damage.”

Riley listened to the patient’s heartbeat and breathing and then said, “The patient is suffering from

hyperaemia in the heart and needs surgery immediately!”

“Take him inside and prepare for surgery!”

Euan didn’t get out of the car; he was sat in the car watching the two of them through the glass window.

They seemed to cooperate very well together, as if in sync and very familiar with each other.

At the same time, this was also the first time that he had seen Riley be so anxious and rushing to save

the lives of her patients, this image of her engraved itself in his heart.

Riley, he really couldn’t resist the charm of this woman.

“Ventricular fibrillation! Prepare to defibrillate, 300 joules, now recharge!”

“And again!”

With two tries, the patient still hadn’t regained consciousness. Riley then stepped onto the stretcher,

knelt on the patient and pressed her hands onto him!

At the same time however, William had grabbed Riley with both hands and spun her away from the

patient.

He had saved her from having the blood spurt onto her.

The scene seemed frozen.

Riley stiffened in his arms, while the surrounding nurses and doctors all stared at them dumbfounded.

Euan who was gripping the steering wheel in both hands wanted to drive the car over there, to kill

William!

William then said softly, “Are you alright?”

“I’m fine… could you put me down now.”

“Wow!” There was a sudden applause. “Nice! Just now you really looked like a perfect couple! What

happened just now really was amazing!”

Angrily crumpling up the two movie tickets in his pocket he then threw them out of the window, he

started the car and then drove off.
