Stellan was totally thrown off by Alaric's sudden weird behavior.

"Alaric, what's up with you?"

"Nothing's up, I just wanna hear it." Seeing she wasn't gonna say anything, Alaric played the patient card. "I'm a patient, remember? If it's not too much to ask, you should humor me." "I love you," Stellan blurted out.

"That was so half-hearted," Alaric gave a bitter smile.

"Alright, I won't push it." Stellan saying it was good enough for him. Then he asked, "Now that I've said 'I love you,' you shouldn't be mad anymore, right?" Not mad?

Was this just a simple argument? Could she just say she wasn't mad and be done with it?

"Alaric, you have no idea what I'm really mad about," Stellan said, getting emotional.

"I know, it's because I treat my wife's concern like a burden, and I make you sad. It's all my fault."

After Alaric finished talking, Stellan just stared at him. She couldn't tell if he really didn't know or was just pretending.

But the topic of Marigold was a no-go between them. Alaric avoided it on purpose, and she was smart enough not to bring it up.

Seeing Stellan still didn't want to talk, Alaric said, "Let's find Mia first. Once we find her, I'll apologize properly."

"If Detective Jackson told you, it must be important. You don't need to tell me, and I don't want to hear it," Stellan cut him off.

Actually, Alaric wanted to tell Stellan that the police had evidence of Ambrose's crimes.

But she didn't want to hear it, and Neil had also said they needed to draw out the people behind the Vale family. They wouldn't arrest Ambrose right away, so Alaric could keep this from her for now. "Alright, you rest. I'll go check on dinner."

"Haven't you watched enough TV shows to get it?" Harry said, "Arguing is just another way couples keep the spark alive."

"I just think these adults are so ridiculous. We wanted to surprise them, but instead, we were told to get out. How unfair!" Elisa pouted.

Just as she finished speaking, Stellan came downstairs. Caspian, Harry, and Elisa immediately stood at attention.

"Mommy, we didn't mean to see anything."

"Shut up."

"How many times have I told you to knock before entering a room?"

"Got it," Harry said, "But to be safe, you could lock the door."

After Harry spoke, Stellan shot him a sharp look, and he immediately shut up.

"Go wash your hands and eat."

"Okay." Caspian, Harry, and Elisa obediently went to wash their hands and eat. Alaric, feeling better, joined them in the living room for dinner.

After dinner, Stellan went to the bathroom, and Harry gave Alaric a thumbs-up.noveldrama

"Dad, you're so capable, why do you need us to help? You could handle it on your own."

"Don't mention this again," Alaric said, looking at Harry. Suddenly, he thought of something and said, "To make up for your recklessness, Harry, I need you to do something for me." Harry said, "Why should I bear the consequences for all three of us?"

"Because only you can do it."

"Alright, with great power comes great responsibility."

After Harry spoke, Caspian put down his utensils and said, "I'm done. I need to do my homework. I have a global math competition next week."

Harry sneered and said, "Dad, look at Caspian's pathetic jealousy."

"It's my fault, okay?" Alaric admitted again, "Before your mom finishes her bath, hurry up."

Alaric dragged Harry into the study and instructed, "Help me switch all the surveillance at Nexus Innovations."

"Nexus Innovations?" Harry thought he had misheard, "Isn't that your company? Can't you just get the surveillance? Why go through all this trouble?"

"I have my reasons."

Cormac was at the hospital with Rowena, who was in the final stages of treatment. Now, only Stellan was at Nexus Innovations.

Ambrose was a very cautious person. If he sensed that the police were onto him, he might do something desperate to harm Stellan.

So, Alaric could only feel at ease by keeping a close watch over both Far East International and Nexus Innovations.
