Mated To My Alpha Brother

Chapter 30

Chapter thirty.

Paige screamed and walked into the room further. “Mum, you’re back.”

“What happened?” Paige asked with worry written on her face. Grayson entered the room also. He had heard his wife scream.

“And why are you in a towel?” She added. “I was taking a shower when I suddenly heard a growl from him. I thought something had happened so I rushed here immediately. Turned out he had a nightmare. I decided to stay here and put him to sleep.

Grayson noticed her body was dry, but he didn’t say anything about it. Paige moved closer to Lian, who was lying peacefully and sleeping on the bed, with a duvet covering him.

She caressed his hair gently. “He hates nightmares.” She lamented. “That was long before. Who doesn’t hate nightmares? Even if he is an alpha, there’s no way he can avoid them.” Grayson objected.

“Honey!” Paige frowned and Grayson gave her the ‘I’m sorry’ look. He cleared his throat and turned to Mia.

“We’ll take care of him. Finish up your bath.”

“That was close.” Mia said and laughed as Lian gave her a cup of coffee. Lian sat opposite her and opened his mouth to talk but she didn’t. She already read his expression and could tell what he was going to say.

“Don’t.” She commanded. She dropped the cup on the table. “You’re going lecture again.”

Logan smiled. “I wasn’t go to.” He said to her surprise.

“You can have me to yourself for the rest of the week. Go to the school pack next week. It’s not really safe for you to be out here.”

“But I have you…” She whined. “We can’t be together always. You’re going, okay?” He stated firmly.

“Fine.” She suddenly widened her eyes. “So I’m gonna celebrate my 18th birthday at school? It’s next week!” She freaked out.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

“You can always have an after-party. Now is not the time to throw a party.”

“Samara said I and my mate have to fight Giovanni together, in order to attain victory over him.” Lian explained as he sat on the bar stool at the private bar at their hangout.

“But you don’t have one! You can’t just travel around the country all in the name of finding your mate. You don’t even know where she stays, if she’s on this planet or not.” Shane vented out frustratedly.

After thinking for a while, Marlin turned to Lian. “She didn’t give you any hint or… stuff?”

“She did.” Lian responded sharply and sipped out of the liquor he was holding in a glass.

“She bears my alpha marble. And at an uncertain time, the marble will glow and become obvious.” Lian explained, with an expressionless face.

“And now that’s the only problem. We don’t know when the marble will glow. But good thing we got a lead, we can look out, right?” Marlin enquired for permission. Lian nodded slightly. “Sure.”

“We need allies.” Shane announced in a form of reminding the others. “Most of the alphas are refusing to Ally with us. They’re all scared of the big bad wolf.”

“I expected that. You don’t expect those little alphas to team up with a big pack that’s not even sure of victory. No one wants their pack to get wiped out.” Marlin countered with all seriousness.

All of a sudden, Lian got off the barstool and picked up his car key from the center table. “I’ll go see alpha Amelia later.” He said.

“What?” Shane and Marlin exclaimed out of surprise. “That arrogant bitch?” Shane added.

Lian nodded. He understood their reaction. Amelia was the first female alpha in the entire nation. She was a young lady who ruled a powerful pack also, but was popularly known for her arrogance and rudeness.

“Listen guys, I got pride too. But my people’s safety comes first. Now is not the time to showcase my ego. I’m leaving.”

“Hold on.” Shane uttered loudly and Lian halted his steps. “There’s one more thing to report.” Lian sighed slightly. “What’s it about?” He inquired.

“It’s about Rosie.”

* GIOVANNI’S PACK

Rosie waited before the throne with her bowed. She was waiting for Giovanni to come into the throne room. And he finally stepped in. After settling on his throne, he cleared his throat. “You have come.”

“Yes my lord.” Rosie replied, with her face still bowed. She dared not look at his face.

“Let’s hear what you have come with.” Giovanni gave the go ahead signal, resting his head on the throne’s headboard.

“My lord, their plans to fight against you has been very invigorating. They’ve been in search of allies. However, I think you should attack the pack now ’cause they aren’t expecting it.” She said, picking her words and trying to sound as polite as possible.

“Hmm…” Giovanni hummed and stared at her a bit before holding a hand up. Motioning at his right hand man to come over. An armed man walked towards the throne with a rectangular silver box in his hands.

When he got to the throne, he opened the box and turned it to his lord. Giovanni picked out a tiny box out of the silver box and the armed man closed the box. “Return it to my room.” He mumbled to the man. Giovanni tossed the tiny box at Rosie.

She caught the box and opened it. She was disappointed. “My lord, you promised to give me two medicine balls the last time.” She protested courteously.

“The information you just gave was unimpressive, but the advice earned you a ball.” He verbalized mockingly and Rosie grinded her teeth.

“Thank you for your kindness, my lord.” She bowed her head to a ninety degree angle and forced a smile.

“Son of a bitch!” Rosie cursed as got off her car. She kept staring at the box as she walked towards the house. She froze when she saw a figure standing at her door, with his ankles crossed and his arms folded.

“Li.. Li.. an?” She stuttered and her heart started beating. “Why do you look so surprised to see me?”

“I was just… no reason. What are you doing here?”

Lian unfolded his arms and dipped them into his pockets. “Come on, what else would I be doing here? Here to see you. I’ve not seen you around lately.” He said and wore on a smile.

“But I thought you—”

“What’s that?” He interrupted, moving his gaze to the small box she was holding.

“This? It’s.. nothing.” She replied hastily and hid the box behind her. She suddenly flashed a smile. “Come in.”

Rosie served him a glass of juice when they got in and sat opposite him, feeling nervous. Lian noticed the strong scent coming from her and he smirked. “Why are you feeling nervous? Did you do something wrong?” He teased. “Nervous? Oh no, I’m just… feeling a little bit sick.” She retorted, trying to avoid eye contact with him.

There was an awkward silence for a while. Rosie felt uncomfortable under Lian’s loving stare. She mustered up courage to ask the reason behind his unusual act.

“Lian, is something wrong?”

Lian nodded slightly, with his gaze fixed on her. “You must have forgotten to mask your scent.” He uttered calmly and she gasped. Rosie felt her heart thumping hard in its confinement. “Wh.. what are you talking about?” She stammered, feeling uncomfortable in her seat.

“Relax Rosie.” Lian cooed. He didn’t seem offended or anything. “The medicine balls are meant for your mum, right?”

Rosie abruptly sprang on her feet. “Please leave.” She raised her voice.

“I will.” Lian responded calmly and stood up. “I would’ve killed you if I wanted to, but I’m sparing you. For old times’ sake. Watch it, Rosie. And don’t do anything stupid.” He warned with a cold glare.

*DIAMOND’S PACK

“Guys, we are trying to keep y’all safe so cooperate with us. There are some spies amongst you so be cautious of everyone around you. If you notice any act that calls for suspicions, do not hesitate to report to us. Anyone at all, even the teachers.” Marlin declared.

“Excuse me Beta Marlin. Is it true that Miss Lisa was a spy?” A girl asked.

Marlin turned to look at Shane before answering the girl’s question. “Yes. She was the one behind the sacred stone issue.”

Everyone gasped in surprise. “Whoa.” When their murmurs and noises suppressed, Marlin continued. “So this, is not limited to any one. Attend your trainings regularly also. We all need to be strong in order to get through with the oncoming battle. Y’all get it?”

After the positive replies were given, Marlin and Shane walked out of the big hall.

“This is so much like prison. It’s holiday and we don’t get to move around freely. All thanks to some old fool.” Jabi swore.

“I wonder how alpha Lian is coping. It hasn’t been up to a year since he officially became an alpha and now he has to fight a battle.” Axel added.

“Mia. Have you heard from her?”

“Nah…” Axel drawled lazily. As they were about to step out of the hall, someone called Jabi.

They saw Annie running towards them. She was panting when she got to them. “You two, spare me a sec.”

“What’s the issue?” Jabi asked first.

“Chill.” Annie took a deep breath before she started talking. “Look around, everyone are complaining and grunting out of frustration. They’re bored. So I came up with a plan. A plan I need you two to help me with.” She paused. Axel and Jabi looked at each other out of plerplexity and then they turned their gazes to Annie, asking for elaboration.

“Next week is Mia’s birthday, right?”
