Chapter 25
Chapter twenty five
Grayson struggled to push his wife off, with his unharmed hand but she appeared determined and strong. He closed his eyes immediately, he couldn’t bear the scene at all. Paige waited to feel a Pierce on her back, Grayson expected a warm flow of thick liquid on his body, and unbelievingly, they never got the feelings.
A figure came in through the window like a flash and charged at the black-outfit man. It took a while for the couple to notice there was a third party.
Paige’s sense of smell sharpened immediately. “Lian.” She muttered. If there was someone she was good at recognizing by cologne, it was her son.
Lian threw punches at the man’s face repeatedly and violently. He totally lost control over his emotions. Opening the door, he dragged the man who was now weak out of the room, into a bright and lighted space.
Grayson sighed deeply. Then turned to his wife, who felt a bit relieved. “Paige, why would you do that? Do you know how I felt right when you shielded me? I should be the shield, not you!” She yelled.
“What was I supposed to do? Watch him stab you? I couldn’t think of anything else that protect you Grayson, I couldn’t. How would I live the rest of my life without you?” Paige sobbed gently. There was still fear in her.
Grayson sighed softly. His wife break down was one thing he had always hated to see. He pulled her gently into his arms. “I’m sorry for yelling darling. But you shouldn’t risk yourself for me. I can’t watch you get hurt in my place. Don’t ever do that again, please.”
After some minutes, the couple managed to find their way to the living room, where Lian and the man was.
Lian kept on beating the man. He was totally out of control. He couldn’t hear anything at the moment. And the only thing on his mind was to destroy the guy.
Eventually, he got tired and decided to end everything. He grabbed the now-bleeding man by his collar and drew him closer to his face. The man struggled to turn away from Lian but Lian’s grip on him was just too strong. Lian’s eye color started to change. It changed into Amber color, and he stared right into the man’s eyes. “Go back to Giovanni as a dead package.” He uttered dreadfully. The man groaned in pain as he felt heat through his whole body.
After then, he got struck by a blinding white lightening and when it stopped, he was no longer there.
Lian breathed in and out, trying to calm himself down. He turned to his parents who had been watching him all the while.
“Mum, Dad, are you okay?” He asked worriedly to as he rushed to them. “Dad, you’re bleeding. Mum, you got scratches.” He voiced out anxiously.
“These are nothing. Let me get the first aid kit.” Paige said and went inside.
Grayson sat on a sofa, pressing his unharmed hand on his injury.
“Julian, how did you get involved with Giovanni?” He queried, looking serious and unconcerned about the wound.
Lian sighed and sat on the sofa opposite Grayson. “He’s trying to take over the pack.”
“And you thought I shouldn’t know about it?”
“I thought I could handle it dad. I was going to tell you soon.” Lian defended. “You thought you could handle it? Do you even know who Giovanni is? What have you handled so far about this issue? You think you can handle it by killing his messengers? Things are not done that way Lian.” Grayson scolded, getting upset gradually.
“I was going to figure out a way. But he planted too many spies around already.” Lian said.
Paige walked in with the first aid kit. “Son, your father is trying to make you understand that Giovanni is not just someone you can handle all by yourself. You’re still very young.” She regarded softly. “I understand, mum.” Lian replied.
Paige started tending to her husband’s injury while he kept asking Lian series of questions. “Why did you come to Japan anyways? It was a really good timing.”
*FLASHBACK*
“In their arms.” Marlin replied to Lian. Lian squinted his eyes, trying to figure out something. “That means they weren’t meant to be killed. They are fake targets.” Lian muttered.
“What!” Shane and Marlin exclaimed calmly. Lian’s eyes widened. The voices of the attacked from his dream suddenly replayed in his head. “They are just distractions.” He said unbelievingly.
He brought his phone out and started dialing his father’s number. It was unavailable. He dialed his mum’s too and it was also unavailable. He ran off. “Lian, where are you going?” Shane inquired as he and Marlin ran after Lian.
Lian stopped when he got to his car and turned to his Betas. “Catch me the earliest flight ticket to Japan.” He ordered.NôvelDrama.Org © content.
*BACK TO THE PRESENT*
“I realized you guys were the next targets so I had to come right away. I rushed here immediately the plane landed.” Lian added.
“Thank goodness you came.” Paige let out a sigh of relief.
“Lian, this won’t go on forever. Giovanni might attack the pack at once, and at any time. What steps have you taken?” Grayson asked. He was obviously more worried about the pack.
“We are having the best soldiers guarding the pack right now. Shane and Marlin just brought all the pack members and the students together at school. We thought it would be better for them to be together. Blue moon pack agreed to give us more soldiers also. I met Samara. Seems she has something against Giovanni too, she’s willing to help.”
Grayson gave an expression that he approved of the steps Lian had taken. “You’ve done quite well.” He turned to his wife. “Honey, pack up the bags. We’re returning.”

“Mum! Dad!” Mia screamed ran towards her parents. She pulled them into a crashing hug. “I missed you guys.” She whined gently. “We missed you too honey.” Paige replied, smiling and stroking her back gently.
The hug became intense, making Grayson inconvenient. “Princess, my arm.” He uttered and she broke the hug immediately. “What is it dad? Are you hurt?” She worried as she looked at his arms for any injury. “It’s just a slight wound angel, don’t worry.” He patted her hair, with a smile.
Mia frowned. “Stop getting hurt. It breaks my heart.”
“Alright angel. You don’t need to worry about daddy. I’ll will be fine.” He said again.
The couple went inside the house, leaving Lian and Mia outside. Lian ignored Mia and didn’t try to make a conversation. He walked to the trunk of the car to bring out their parents’ luggages.
Mia approached him gently, after gathering so much courage. She tugged at his shirt softly. “Hey, are you okay?” Lian raised his head and turned to her, not expecting the question. “I mean, you went there to save dad and mum. I hope you aren’t hurt too.”
Lian managed to flash an insincere, faint smile. “I’m not hurt. Thanks for your concern.” He regarded and withdrew back to what he was doing.
His reply got her worried. The way he replied, actually. He just acted formal. Why would he thank her? She had the obligation to be concerned about him. Mia dragged her feet into the house, with a heavy heart.
