Marry My Ex's Sworn Enemy (Sonya)

Sworn Enemy Novel 27

Chapter

27

Sonya woke up in the middle of the night parched. Disoriented, she checked on Lily Lane, relieved to find her sleeping soundly beside her. Checking the time, she went to the small living room for water. After drinking, she collapsed onto the living room floor. It was cold. She suddenly felt the urge to call Henry and hear his voice.

She dialed, and he answered quickly.

"What's wrong? his gentle voice filled the phone.

Sonya burped. I miss you...."

There was a pause. I'll be home soon."

I want to ask you....

"What?"

"Can I get a dog?"

"You're asking if I'll clean up after it, right?"

"Huh?"

She'd just wanted to know if he'd agree. She'd had a dog growing up, for twelve years, until it died when she was in high school. She'd always wanted another, but Julian Jennings hated dogs and wouldn't let her have one.

"Okay. I'll bathe it, groom it, clean up after it, feed it-whatever you want.

Sonya's eyes welled up.

You're so sweet."

'Sleep now, sweetheart."

"Okay, I'll wait for you to come home."

In the conference room, department heads held their breath, waiting for Mr. Sullivan to finish his call. The head of the tech department, who had just endured a grilling from Mr. Sullivan, felt a pang of longing. Olivorch a disparity between people! He wished for Mr. Sullivan's gentleness, even a gentle "Get out." Yes, he wanted to escape!

Others felt the same. They all wondered who was on the other end of the line, that someone could soften Mr. Sullivan, the ruthless CEO, enough to make him offer to clean up after a dog. The world was upside down!

After the call, Henry's smile vanished. He addressed his employees. This laughable proposal is what you came up with? Should I give you all a day off for a neurological exam?"

On the third day, Sonya was woken by the doorbell. Seeing Lily Lane still asleep, she put on her robe and went downstairs. Two cleaning ladies had arrived to clean the newly laid floor tiles. She sent them downstairs and went to wake Lily Lane. "I'm going furniture shopping. Coming?"

Lily Lane groaned and rolled over."My head hurts. I need to sleep."

"They're installing cabinets today. It'll be noisy," Sonya added.

Lily Lane flipped over again."As long as they don't take apart this bed, I'm not getting up."

Sonya smiled. "I'll order you breakfast. Eat it."

"Mmm, okay."

As Sonya was leaving, her phone buzzed. It was a message from someone labeled "Erha"(Husky). Erha? Who was that?

The message contained a location and time, followed by: Director Davis dislikes tardiness and sycophants. Remember this.

It took Sonya a moment to realize it was Jason Reynolds. She'd added him on WhatsApp, and he'd labeled himself "Erha." Back inside, Sonya woke Lily Lane and showed her the message. Lily Lane screamed. "Sonya, you're my savior!" "Don't get too excited. Go to the audition."

Olivorddenly energized, Lily Lane went to the bathroom to freshen up, then shrieked. "My hair looks like a wild turkey!"

It wouldn't do for the audition, so Sonya accompanied her to get her hair dyed black and called a

taxi.

"Driver, please hurry. She's going to be late!"

Sonya breathed a sigh of relief after watching the cab pull away. On the subway to the furniture store, she remembered getting up to get water last night, and then... making a call. She checked her call log.

She had called Henry. She had asked about getting a dog, and he'd said he'd clean up after it! Sonya covered her mouth. What had she done?

Lily Lane called excitedly that afternoon. She'd gotten the part, a small supporting role, but she had a job!

"I'm going to JoyPlus Entertainment. Wish me luck."

"Good luck."

After choosing her furniture, Sonya was on the subway home when Ashley sent her a voice message, telling her to check the internet. Sonya saw the trending topic and scrolled down. There was a video of Seraphina West crying on an elevator after being rejected for Director Davis's new drama.

Lily Lane

got the part, but Seraphina West didn't.

Sonya wasn't interested in watching Seraphina West's misfortune, so she closed the page. Near Julian Jennings's villa, she saw him and Seraphina West getting out of a car. Seraphina West's eyes were still red. She saw Sonya, her face darkening, and went straight inside. "You know Jason Reynolds?" Julian Jennings asked. Ignoring him, Sonya continued towards her house.

"Jason Reynolds has countless women. He's just amused by you!"

When Sonya ignored him, he grabbed her arm.

"You don't really think he's interested in you, do you?"

Sonya shook him off forcefully."Julian Jennings, please stop bothering me! We're over. What I do, who I see-it's none of your business!"

Enraged, he pushed her against the wall, pinning her.

"Julian Jennings!" Sonya shouted.

He stared at her face, his expression stiffening at the wariness and disgust in her eyes.

broke up with me and immediately found someone else?"

"You... you "Let go of me!" Sonya pushed him hard.

"Are you that desperate? That needy?"

""You bastard!"noveldrama

"You're a second-hand item, trying to climb into the bed of a Reynolds family member. You're delusional!"

Sonya broke free and slapped him.

"I can't believe I liked a loser like you for eight years.

I was blind!"

She hurried to her door, about to enter the code when Julian Jennings grabbed her arm again. He glared at her, furious.

"You hit me, Sonya. You dare hit me!"

"Let go or I'll call the police!"

"Seraphina was rejected. I know you did it. This is a warning. Next time, I won't be so merciful!"

"I'm amazing, then. But

But this is pointless. She should work on her acting!"

"Sonya!"

"Don't yell outside my house. The neighbors will think we have a rabid dog!"

They glared at each other. Seraphina West appeared a few feet away."What are you two doing?",
