On the way back to the hotel, Lumma thought about it seriously.

After getting along with Adam for a long time, she understood that he was not the person the rumors said. She believed he was a good person, so when getting on with him, she became careless and was out of line just now. She ought to rein it in a little

Adam put out the cigarette butt, followed Lamma far away, stood on the side of the road, and watched her return to the hotel safely.

Laura appeared out of nowhere, “Adam, Steve has asked Jane to reply to your mom according to your instructions. She would not trouble Lumma anymore.”

Adam nodded.

Laura added, “Jane told us that your mom did these things recently because Miss Hills and Miss Hawes are about to return from their studies abroad. She wants to make preparations to welcome Miss Hawes in advance.”

Adam lit a cigarette and said with a faint smile, “It’s not up to her to make decisions

about my affairs.”

“But she is your mother. If you do this, it will affect your reputation,” Laura saw Adam grow up, and she knew that things were never great between him and his parents, but

now it was like the hurt locker.

Back then, he was the one who stood up and kicked his father out. He had reshaped the Hills Group after he acceded. That’s why there were rumors saying that he was ruthless

and malicious.

“Fame?” Adam never showed care about his own reputation. If he cared, he had his own

way to change the public opinion.

Looking at him, Laura decided to ask the question in her heart after struggling, “Adam, you protect Lumma like this. Do you have feelings for her?”

Adam raised his eyebrows, “Are you implying that I let others take advantage of you

Adam didn’t answer directly, but Laura understood the hidden meaning. Adamn meant that Lumma, Steve, and her were equally important in his heart and he would protect

them.

He wouldn’t allow anyone to take advantage of them.

The next day, Lumma’s sick leave ended and she went back to work.

Though she didn’t run around with Adam these days, she didn’t miss out on work. She worked as an assistant and was able to catch up with Adam’s work rhythm soon.

Nearly half a month later, the scenic spot officially opened to the public.

After the ribbon cutting, they started to go back to Red Pine City.

This time, they took Adam’s private plane which saved them a few hours without flight connections. It wasn’t dark when they reached Red Pine City.

As Lumma picked up her luggage, Harry called her, “Worm, Ruby and I are on our way to pick you up. We will be there in a few minutes. Come out from the VIP passage and

wait for us for a moment.”

“Okay, see you later,” Lumma hung up the phone with a smile. She turned and met

Adam’s eyes.

Adam glanced at her and walked forward first.

Lumma and Leonard followed him, each of them pushing two big suitcases.

The car that came to pick up Adam was already waiting at the exit, and Adam got into the car directly, while Lumma and Leonard were responsible for carrying the luggage

into the car.

Because Leonard didn’t want to sit next to Adam, he occupied the passenger cab after

handling the luggage.

Lumma walked towards the back seat of the car. Adam saw her coming and moved to give her a seat, but Lumma smiled and said, “Mr. Hills, thanks. But I’m not going with you. Someone is coming to pick me up.
