I know y’all would be wondering how come I showed up at Alexa’s house.

I know…

It’s a bit confusing.

But I’ll explain now.

Actually ⇦⇦…

I got to work and what I saw sitting on my secretary’s desk was infuriating.

On Becky’s desk was Phoebe!

“Wtf!”

I breathed lowly.

I gained my composure and walked toward my office with a frown on my face.

Seeing the b! tch, first thing in the morning wasn’t exactly the kinda boost I was expecting on a Tuesday morning.

I wanted nothing but to so ignore her, but the disgusting smile on her face and the fact that I’d need to get past her, into my office proved that this moment, that’d be damn impossible!

I brushed past her and turned sharply to the left and into my office.

Like I suspected earlier, she hurried off her desk and trailed behind me like a lost puppy.

“Good more…”

She tried to get it, but I wasn’t interested and cut her off.

“What are you doing here?”

I asked, my mood all messed up because of her, and sat down on my swivel office chair.

“Being your secretary.”

She answered simply like her being my secretary was the most common and normal thing on earth.

“And why are you here being my secretary?”

I asked checking the arranged files on my table one after the other.

“I told Becky to go off today while I work for you.”

Phoebe replied.

“And why would you do that? You have no right to decide on which of my employees go on leave and which one fills in!”

I yelled slamming the table as lightly as I could.

“I told Dad and he gave his permit.”

“Who’s ‘Dad’? Dad as in a mine or what?”

I asked her awestruck.

“Dad as in your Dad.”

She replied.

“When did my dad turn to your Dad?”

I was irritated, but instead of answering my question, she decided to go on and on about what was in her mind.

“And he gave me his permission. Isn’t that cute and sweet?”

She asked like that was the best thing that ever happened to me.

“Sorry to pull down your walls. It isn’t.”

I replied harshly.

“What?”

“Leave my office this instant and wherever Becky is… Send her back up.”

I ordered.

I expected her to leave right away, but she didn’t.

Instead, she stood rooted like she had backup.

“I’m going nowhere!”

She said defiantly.

“What did you just say?”

I scrunched my brows.

“I’m going nowhere.”

She repeated.

“When did you start defying me?”

“Since now.”

She said with a smile on her face.

The smile irritated me so much, that I dragged her out of my office by the arm to the floor above which was clearly where my Dad’s office was.

His secretary stood up from her desk immediately she sighted me approaching.

“Sorry, you can’t go in sir. Mr. Green has instructed me to be left alone for some time.”

She said, but I cared less about whatever shit she was saying.

I pushed her aside aggressively and flung the door to my Dad’s office open not minding whatever was going in there.

I walked in, dragging Phoebe after me.

“What’s the meaning of this Dad?”

I yelled immediately we both were in already and pushed Phoebe towards him.

“I thought it nice for you both to get closer before your wedding.”

“What part of ‘I’m not getting married to her’ do you not fvcking understand?!”

I slammed his table.

“This is my office. Stop slamming the table stupid.”

My Dad said sternly.

“If you don’t remember… I’m sure I hold one of your secrets.”

I said to him trying to scare him like I did yesterday, but this man didn’t fret.

Instead, he smiled.

“What the actual fvck!”

I yelled in my head.

“I’ve been waiting for you to show up today to tell you something.”

He said and crouched a little to bring out something from one of the drawers.

It was a white handkerchief stained with splotches of blood.

“I coughed up this morning.”

My Dad said before dropping the handkerchief on his desk.

When he saw I didn’t do or say anything but stare at him, he spoke again.

“It’s time Anderson.”

“Time for what?”

I asked.

He smiled, turned to Phoebe, and asked her to leave the office.

When she left, he turned back to me.

“It’s time for you to take over as head of BBG.”

“What?! You know I won’t do that!”

I said surprised.

“You’ll have to, if not you’re dead meat.”

He said.

“No. You don’t expect me to head one of the deadliest underground gangs!”

I whispered so no one but him would hear.

“You’ll have to. Black Bee Gang is what will protect you against those flesh-seeking company suckers. My Dad headed it when it was his time, your Uncle headed it when it was his time and I did… Alongside your uncle before he died.”

He rasped and paused a bit to catch his breath.

“And you must!”

“But Dad…”

I whined, but before I could say anymore, he shut me up.

“Do you want to lose your head?

How do you think we managed to keep Green empire stayed at Number one even though we’ve got haters and other companies competing thoroughly to gain our position?”

“So the gang isn’t evil? Just for protection right?”

“Of course, it’s for protection… And for evil too, if need there be it.”

My Dad said.

“So remind me why exactly you’re telling me to succeed you when you’re still alive again.”

“I’m barely alive. I’m not as healthy as I used to be. That’s why I need you to succeed me and lead the gang, keeping it alive for generations to come.”

My dad said, and an idea crept up my mind.

Since my Dad needed me to succeed him so badly, why not make him a deal?!

“Hey, Dad.”

I said, calking up his attention.

“Let me make you a deal.”

I started when he looked up at me, signifying I now had his full attention.

His brows arched in evident confusion.

“What do you mean by a deal?”

“Since you want me to get married and also need me to succeed as a leader in your stead, I’ll accept to lead the company gang if only you allow me to marry who I want to.”

I saw him scratch his beard in frustration.

I held him in a tight corner!

After what seemed like ages of him thinking, he muttered a simple, but important stuff.

“OK.”

“Really? You accept it?”

I asked surprised.

I didn’t expect him to agree so easily.

“Why not? I just need to make sure you head that gang for real.”

My Dad said.

“Oh Dad, I will.”

I said enthusiastically.

After that, he took me to the hideout (the place where the gang stay)and did an introduction of the sort.

I swore to protect the gang members against all odds, and in return, they pledged to lay down their life for me and the company anytime needed.

I made some friends, but I rode along more with Clark.

Clark was a gang member too (BBG), but I rode with him more than I rode with the others.

We may even become best of friends if I wasn’t careful…NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.

We had a lot of damn things in common!

After all that was done, I drove down to the phone store in a happy mood to get a phone for Alexa.

She needed it!

Driving to my house with high expectations that she’d be there…

I got disappointed and decided to head to hers.

The house was easy to break into because it was wooden and had a wooden handle, and went in.

But before I went in, I texted Clark and Billy the address and asked them to come to meet me.

Quick enough, they came and we stepped into the house, finding no one in the sitting room.

I noticed a small flight of stairsstairsside and knew that’d lead to probably Alexa’s or Jace’s room.

We trio climbed up the stairs together and I heard Jace and Alexa discussing how unfair I was.

I asked the boys to wait for my call and busted in on the siblings, giving them probably the shock of their lives.

“Anderson!”

Came Alexa’s shrill, feminine voice.

I ended up taking Jace away, knowing Alex would surely trail me to my home.

That was what I wanted!

I got into the car and watched Clark get into the driver’s seat, and Billy beside Clark in the passenger seat.

“Where to boss?”

Came Clark’s voice.

“The Green Estate.”

“What are you going to do with the sleeping boy?”

Billy asked.

“Trade him for something I want so dearly.”

I smirked.
