Choosing A Wedding Place
It was a means to an end, a business strategy that he couldn’t afford to fail…..
Alexander left the house and went to his office. His secretary called him on the phone to inform him that Anderson was here to see him.
“Send him in,” Alexander replied to his secretary, preparing himself for the meeting with his lawyer, Anderson.
As Anderson entered the office, he looked at Alexander with a knowing expression.
“I heard about your little argument with Marissa. You really need to be more careful with how you treat her.”
Alexander sighed,
“I know, Anderson. It’s just that this whole situation is getting to me. I don’t want to mess things up with Jessie, but I can’t afford to lose this contract either.”
Anderson nodded, understanding the complexity of the situation.
“I get it, Alexander. But you have to find a way to balance both relationships.
Marissa is essential to the success of this fake marriage, and you can’t afford to alienate her.”
“I know, I know,” Alexander replied,
“I’ll try to be more considerate in the future.”
“She made breakfast for me this morning.”
“Who made breakfast for you this morning..?” Anderson asked to be sure he heard what Alexander just said.
“You heard me.” Alex said.Nôvel/Dr(a)ma.Org - Content owner.
“I honestly didn’t. Can you say it again so I can hear you well?” Anderson asked.
“Marissa made breakfast for me this morning,” Alexander repeated.
Anderson raised an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued. “That’s surprising. I didn’t think she’d be so accommodating after your argument.”
Alexander shrugged, still somewhat surprised himself. “She just did it without me even asking.”
Anderson chuckled, “Well, maybe she’s trying to build a rapport with you. It’s crucial for this fake marriage to work.”
Alexander nodded, realizing that he needed to tread carefully in his interactions with Marissa to maintain a harmonious partnership.
“I don’t want to get too close, Anderson. As you are well aware that this is strictly a business deal and nothing more so I don’t want any unnecessary feelings or interactions to grow between us.” Alex said.
His secretary came in with a tray of cups of coffee and placed it on the table and then left.
“What are you scared of man?” Anderson asked.
Alexander hesitated for a moment before answering, “I’m not scared, but I want to be cautious.
This whole situation is already complicated enough. I don’t want emotions to muddy the waters further.”
Anderson nodded, understanding the reasoning behind Alexander’s concern.
“That’s a wise approach, Alexander. It’s better to be cautious from the beginning.
“But maybe she’s just being friendly.”
“Yeah… I know. But I don’t want to get involved with her. I’m with Jessie and she’s my fake wife.” Alexander said.
Anderson leaned back in his chair, contemplating the situation. “You’re right, Alexander. Jessie is your real girlfriend, and Marissa is just part of this business deal. But keep in mind, even fake marriages require a certain level of cooperation and understanding. You don’t have to get personally involved, but maintaining a friendly atmosphere will make this whole charade more convincing. Just be careful not to cross any lines.”
Alexander nodded in agreement, recognizing the importance of a delicate balance. “I’ll keep that in mind, Anderson. We need this contract to work.”
“We don’t want to start having unnecessary feelings.” Anderson said.
“That’s never gonna happen. I love Jessie and besides, Marissa isn’t my type.” Alexander said.
“Never say never Alex. Anything can happen.” he said.
“Well definitely not with Marissa.” Alexander said.
Anderson sighed. “Alright, if you say so. But just remember, in this world of business, things aren’t always black and white.
Now, let’s get back to the plans for our fake wedding.”
“Can we focus now on the most important reason you’re here?” he asked.
“Yes, we can.” Anderson answered.
“So since it’s a secret, I have few places I think you guys can do the private wedding and take all the pictures you would need to convince your contractors as well as everyone around you including Jaime Fernado that you are married.”
“Okay, let me see them.” Alexander said, reaching for the file to go through the places Anderson was suggesting they do the private wedding.
“So where do you think we should do this private wedding?”
“Uhm… I’ve got a few ideas. We need a place that’s discreet and convincing.” Anderson said.
“Discreet is good, but it also has to look legit.” Alexa said.
“Exactly, so I’ve thought about a few options. First, there’s the secluded garden of that old mansion on the outskirt of town. Anderson said.
“Oh…. the one with the beautiful rose garden? That could work.” Alexander said.
“Yes, it has a classic charm to it. Then, there’s a small chapel in the woods nearby. It’s pretty…. but not too fancy.” he said.
“What about the beach? A beach wedding could look very convincing?” Alex asked.
Anderson gave him a cold look.
“Do you want to draw a lot of attention to yourself?”
Alexander shook his head realizing that it was a terrible idea.
“And what about a rooftop garden with a view of the city?” Anderson asked.
“Sure… that’s a nice one huh. So that everyone would know I am getting married.” Alex said.
“Okay… so let’s go with the option of the mansion wedding.” Anderson said.
“The mansion has potential. We can decorate it nicely and make it look elegant.
“Alright, let’s go with the mansion wedding then. What about the wedding date?” Anderson asked.
“I suggest next week since I would be traveling that next weekend to see and discuss with my potential client. So I need to be married before then.”
“Sounds good. We’ll work out the details and make it happen.” Anderson said.
“I have told my driver to go and pick her up by 2pm so she could go to pick some nice outfit for the wedding and for all our social events coming up all through these three months of our fake marriage.” Alexander said.
