Chapter 3459 The Closing Act
Matthew gave a slight shrug and stated quietly, "It's fine. It's all over now. Miss Ashcroft, you should probably go."
The Veiled Assembly's leader, Casimir Falkrenn, was already dead, but his followers still knelt nearby. Matthew and the Emberhold Syndicate needed to take care of them before moving forward. Allyson looked stunned. Is he actually dismissing me just like that? I'm not exactly invisible here, yet he's brushing me off? she thought, feeling a bit indignant.
"Hold on!" She hesitated, then called out.
Matthew glanced at her, his tone serious. "Miss Ashcroft, do you need something? We're a bit occupied right now."
"I... I can help," she found herself saying, surprising even herself. I need to ensure my dad's island is taken care of, she reminded herself silently.
She gestured toward the soldiers from the Veiled Assembly, still confused and kneeling in the distance.novelbin
Matthew looked at her, assessing. "How exactly?"
He knew there were too many of them for the Emberhold Syndicate to handle alone. Leaving them unattended could cause trouble, so dealing with them quickly became a priority.
"My team can hold them for a while. We'll keep them in check," Allyson suggested, her gaze steady on him.
Matthew nodded slowly. "And what do you want in return, Miss Ashcroft?"
Allyson waved her hands as if brushing off the idea. "Oh, no, nothing like that. You assisted me in resolving my dad's situation. That's already more than enough. This is just a small way of saying thanks-no need for anything in return." "Thank you, Miss Ashcroft. If you're ready to help, you're one of us now," Matthew replied, his smile shining through.
"How about some tea?" Matthew's demeanor had thoroughly warmed.
Beforehand, he and the Emberhold Syndicate regarded Allyson merely as an ally with shared goals. However, after her willingness to help, he felt inclined to reach out with kindness.
Allyson's smile widened, and she nodded. "Sure, I'd like that."
Matthew was slightly taken aback by her quick agreement but maintained a neutral expression. "Okay, then, come with me."
He took the lead, and while they walked, Allyson asked, "By the way, what's your name?"
"Matteo Larden," he replied.
Just one individual on the island identified him the Medusa Emissary and Matthew had already taken care of him. He was here

lines,
Matthew sighed to himself. The poised, serious Allyson Ashcroft- from before now seems curious and chatty-almost like a totally changed person.
He shrugged and replied, "I'm from Montiria. I had a fallout with the Minister of Finance, so I had to get out fast."
If the Minister of Finance were to overhear him, he'd likely exclaim, 'That's not what you said when you had me on the ropes!'
Allyson laughed. "That minister sounds awful! Bullying someone like you? He's the worst!"
