When did Madelyn stop calling Grace “Mom? How did she manage to turn the Millers against her when they had once loved and doted on her?

The change seemed to have happened after her return to the Garcia family.

Andrew attributed her change to Elena, who was constantly sowing discord. At this moment, his trust in Madelyn grew.

“Maybe not today. Just listen to me,” he replied.

From Grace’s hint, Andrew guessed that something serious must have happened at the Miller residence. He refused to bring Madelyn back home at such a sensitive time and subject her to abuse.

However, Madelyn would not be talked out of it. “Darling, I know you’re worried about. me, but I’ll be nice around your grandma and mom because I’ve decided to be with you.”

She quietly ran the timelines through her head, thinking, “Around this time, Elena was making a fuss at the Miller residence because I hurt Andrew.”

Watching him leave, Madelyn felt bitter yet touched. In her past life, he had defended. her in a similar fashion. Even when he was hospitalized, he stopped his family from calling her.

Why did she fail to notice his loving gestures at that time? She slapped herself twice. on her cheek, repenting for her unreasonable behavior in the past life.

“Mrs. Miller, what are you doing to yourself? Mr. Miller cares about you. That’s why he believes it’s not the right time for you to visit the Miller residence.” David hurried over to coax Madelyn after she slapped herself.

He knew that Andrew stopped Madelyn from tagging along to protect her.

She paused in surprise and turned to David. “How do you know about that?”

“Mrs. Miller, we work for Mr. Miller, you know.”

Relief washed over her.

Ten minutes after Andrew departed, Madelyn made her way to the Garcia residence.

Upon her arrival, she spotted Elena getting out of a car with a smug look. Elena looked gleeful as if she had successfully pulled off a wicked move.

Elena, holding the gifts she received at the Miller residence, proceeded to enter the house. However, Madelyn stopped her, saying, “Hey, stay there.”

Elena froze when she heard Madelyn’s voice.

When she snapped around and met Madelyn’s threatening gaze, she stumbled backward in fear. Even so, she didn’t forget to hold the gifts tight.

“Why are you here?”

“What do you think?” Marching over, Madelyn glanced at the high–end velvet box in Elena’s hold. If she guessed correctly, that box contained Athena’s diamond jewelry worth seven million dollars.

She instantly snatched the box away, much to Elena’s horror. Elena gasped. “What are you doing?”

“How dare you ask me? You don’t deserve this.” Madelyn knew that Elena must have badmouthed her in front of Athena and coaxed Athena into giving out the expensive jewelry.

Elena had received many expensive items from Athena in her past life as well, and

Elena was surprised by Madelyn’s overt action. “Mrs. Miller Senior gave me this. Let go of it!”

Madelyn slapped Elena on the face, and Elena immediately shrieked. Elena could not believe that the Madelyn now would snatch her stuff and beat her up.

Incensed, she yelled, “Someone help me! There’s a robbery! Help!” At the she held tightly the box tightly and refused to give it up. Now that Garcia Group was in deep trouble, she had to make plans for her future.

Madelyn kicked Elena on the shin. Elena finally let go of the box as she collapsed onto the ground in pain.

Madelyn checked the contents of the box. As expected, there rested Athena’s diamond jewelry. She sneered at Elena, “You’re something.”

No one could beat Elena in terms of fooling the others.

There was a question that had been bugging Madelyn for a long time. Why would the Millers, who were serious about family reputation and moral character, take a liking to Elena, the daughter of a mistress?

Or were they fond of Elena for an entirely different reason? Whatever the reason, Madelyn resolved to find out.

“Give it back to me!” Elena glowered at Madelyn. Despite wanting to snatch the box away, she dared not do it under Madelyn’s ferocious gaze.

Madelyn wore a smirk on her face. “A daughter of a mistress does not deserve to wear such luxurious jewelry.”

Amelia and Caleb, who came out after hearing the commotion, happened to

overhear Madelyn’s remark. They were immediately enraged, especially Caleb, who was worried about Garcia Group’s situation.

Upon seeing Madelyn, he took her as a punching bag. “You unruly child! Do you know that the company is going down because of you?”

“Is it really because of me?” She grinned at Caleb.

He was about to act on his urge to hit her, but Jason immediately exited the car behind Madelyn in the capacity of her driver and bodyguard. His silent–presence was intimidating enough.

Caleb recognized him as the best bodyguard working for Andrew. Therefore, he stopped short of lashing out and addressed Madelyn with restraint, “Come in.”

“Mr. Garcia, I’m quite busy. I don’t have time to waste on you.” Then, she marched back to her car while Caleb saw red.

Amelia was upset at Madelyn over the misfortune that had befallen Garcia Group, but she hid her dissatisfaction well. “Maddie, wait a minute.”

“Oh, by the way, I just snatched a diamond jewelry set worth seven million dollars from your precious daughter.”

Amelia’s faked tenderness immediately gave way to shock. By the time Caleb and Amelia collected themselves, Madelyn had entered the car with the box.

Elena started crying pitifully. “Mom, that was a gift from Mrs. Miller Senior. I had planned to use it to tide Garcia Group over. How could Maddie do this to you?”

Amelia’s heart ached when she heard Elena’s accusation. The incident convinced Caleb that Elena was the more reliable daughter, unlike Madelyn, who refused to come home even when he called her.

Back in the car, Madelyn said to Jason, “Let’s head to the Miller residence now.”

“Mr. Miller has banned you from visiting the Miller residence tonight.”

Speechless, Madelyn could not believe that Andrew had specially given orders to his
