Derick’s longing gaze was hiding complicated emotions. He watched as Scarlett left gracefully. He had to hold himself back from rushing up to her.

She was like the horizon, a beautiful scenery yet impossible to approach.

When Eliza heard her say “Sorry, but my life is far too precious for you to take“, a devious plan formed in her mind.

Cindy had just come out of the tollet. She didn’t see Scarlett, but she saw Derick and Eliza. She was shocked. Did Scarlett kave because of these two scumbags?

“Hey, isn’t that Scarlett’s lackey?” Eliza asked, narrowing her eyes at Cindy

“Ob forget it, drop the act. You’re trash compared to Scarlett Besides, don’t think I’m going to forgive what you’re planning to do to her.”

“Derick!” Eliza said. She stomped her foot angrily.

“That’s enough. Why’d you provoke her?” Derick asked. He knew Scarlett never joined banquets like this in the past. Even if she did, she’d find some excuse to leave. Why did she come here tonight?
