Chapter 581 Mother

It was a Whatsapp message from Seth.

Seth: [Clarissa, your mother doesn’t have any identification in Lotharia. I brought her to get a passport

today so she can move about more easily. Since her name’s being used by Iris Benson, she can only

register with the name of Mildred Benson. Do you want her to visit you in Merania?]

Clarissa: [Can you do that? That would be great! Just great!]

Seth: [Don’t worry about it. What are we to each other, after all? Your mother’s been at my house

recently.]

Clarissa: [Okay. Let me know after you get the tickets.]

Learning that her mother would be in Merania soon, Clarissa was overjoyed. She felt her mother would

be safer in Merania than Lotharia.

For now, the issue regarding her mother was settled and Clarissa could relax a bit.

Seth: [Have you solved the problem with Damien?]

Clarissa: [They’ve already married. What can I do? I’ve even seen the marriage certificate. He also

talked about our engagement. I don’t know where he heard about that.]

Seth: [Is it this news?]

Clarissa clicked it open. It was only then that she learned about the news of Betty and Seth getting

engaged.

Clarissa let out a bitter laugh. The name Betty Jensen had been something she made up on the spot at

the Benson residence. Only that woman there would have known it. It was obvious who had given the

media the tip about this news.

Now that Clarissa and Damien had broken up, Iris would be pleased.

Now that she knew Iris was her aunt, Clarissa understood the reasons for everything that had

happened. She couldn’t allow Iris to be so happy. Iris kept committing crime after crime, and Clarissa’s

hate for the former couldn’t get even worse. Clarissa would never let that vile woman get her way.

Since Iris wanted to break Clarissa and Damien up, Clarissa wouldn’t let that happen.

She wanted Damien. Not only would that piss Iris off, but she would also make Damien pay!

In the past few days, Clarissa had been having a great time. She no longer beat herself up over what

had happened. She spent her days teaching and enjoying her free time.

That weekend, Clarissa’s mother arrived with Seth. Clarissa went to the airport to welcome them.

She used to be Iris Benson, but now, she was using her sister’s old name, Mildred Benson.

Now, all dressed up, Mildred looked like a different woman. She probably knew she was troubled, so

she rarely spoke. After following Seth off the plane, Mildred looked around the airport.

She seemed to have been here before, but she couldn’t recall anything

Her memories seemed to be locked away in a vault deep in her mind.

Seeing that Mildred had arrived, Clarissa was very moved.

She went over to hold her mother’s hand.

“Mom, here,” she said. “You’ll be living with me from now on.”

After a beat, Mildred nodded.

Clarissa smiled at Seth. “Thank you.”

He joked to Clarissa, saying, “Where will I live?”

“You? Wherever. If you don’t like my place, you can stay in a hotel. I’ll pay,” Clarissa said.

Seth smiled as well. “I can only stay in Merania for a few days, though. The clinic is busy.”

“Sure. You’re a responsible one, Dr. Highmore.”

The three of them were having a ball of a time, so they didn’t notice Penelope Henderson by the side.

Penelope was there today to pick up a client. She didn’t expect to see Clarissa picking someone up

there as well.

The person Clarissa was with seemed to be Iris Benson. There was also another man with them.

Penelope took some pictures of them together.

Wasn’t there some gossip about Iris sleeping with Frank? In any case, Iris had something to do with the

Moore family.
