Chapter 510 You’re Certainly Rich
Chapter 510 You’re Certainly Rich
After Damien returned to his bedroom, Mrs. Faber went to report to him. “Mr. Lawrence, Madam is
sleeping in Neil’s room again.”
Damien raised an eyebrow. “Let her do what she wants.”
Clarissa had class tomorrow. Besides, she had to go for a meeting at Eden Investment in the
afternoon. She had to sleep early and leave early the next day.
The next day, Clarissa spoke to Damien, who was reading on the couch of the living room. “I’m going to
Eden Investment for a meeting in the afternoon. Are you going?”
“You’re going?” Damien asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Yes. If you’re going, I’m hitching a ride.” Clarissa guessed Damien wasn’t going since he was still in
casual clothes.
Damien brought out his phone and made a call.
Clarissa went back to Neil’s room and packed up her things.
Meanwhile, Damien’s call connected.
“Aren’t you going to Florin today?” Damien asked. “Charles wants you to pick your units.”
“I’ve already made my decision based on the rendering.”
“Alright. Come to my place later to pick Clarissa up. She wants to go to Florin.”
“Damien… Damien, you’re being unreasonable.”
Damien hung up.
After that, his phone chimed with many Whatsapp messages. He ignored them, continuing to read his
book.
Even if he didn’t check, he knew who was texting him. He knew about what the messages would be
about, too. No doubt that it was Ray asking, “When did I say I was going to Florin?” and “Going to
Florin was your idea. Why do I have to listen to you?!” and “Am I being used by you again? If you want
me to send Clarissa to Florin, just ask! Why do you have to do this?”
In the end, Damien knew Ray would still come by obediently.
As expected, Ray arrived twenty minutes later. He was even driving his understated but expensive
Volkswagen Phaeton.
Coincidentally, Clarissa came out of the room with her bag.
“Are you leaving, Clarissa? What a coincidence! I’m going to Eden Investment for a meeting. Charles is
getting us some houses, right? I’m going to pick mine. Let’s go.” Ray held his car keys at the ready, not
even bothered to come inside the house.
“Wait a second. Let me say goodbye to Neil first.” Clarissa went to the nursery.
She came back out after about ten minutes, her eyes red.
Ray saw how pitiful Clarissa looked and felt his heart wrench. He shot an accusatory glare at Damien,
blaming him for not treating Clarissa right.
Damien remained expressionless, completely unmoved.
Clarissa got into the car, unhappy about going back to Florin. She wanted to spend more time with Neil.
“How much time will it take for you to get a professorship at the University of Florin?” Ray wanted to
cheer Clarissa up, so he purposely didn’t mention Neil. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
“It depends on how many papers I publish. I’m currently writing one about national projects, so it might
be soon.”
“Ah, of course. You’re smart. After all, you used to be my student!”
Clarissa smiled. She didn’t really want to think about the past.
“Right. How big of a house are you planning to buy? Why do you suddenly want to buy a house in
Florin?” Clarissa asked Ray.
“It’s a house by Eden Investment, so there’s no worry. The quality will be good. Besides, Damien’s
talking to the district council about getting a school to set up there. Then, there will definitely be a
school district. My estimate is that the house prices will increase to 600 or 700 thousand. The prices
now are at a 20 percent discount, so I’m planning to buy three units of about a thousand square feet in
size as an investment. Then, I’ll also buy a unit that’s two thousand square feet for myself.” Ray was
happily jabbering away. He felt he was getting a great deal.
Clarissa looked at Ray strangely. “Wow! You’re certainly rich.”
