The supposed last meet
Cayden
I knew I was being mean to Lily to Lily but I just couldn’t help it. Her grandma being here doesn’t change that but I respect her. I could feel the shame she felt as she tried to defend herself but her grandma stopped that from happening; how convenient.
“Even if Lily was the last or only person on earth, I still won’t date her” I felt Lily’s face going red like it was about to burst open and her grandma’s face was disgusted.
“How would you say that to my granddaughter?? I don’t appreciate that.” She said
“With all due respect ma’am, I only feel this way because Lily is always rude and sarcastic towards me. I don’t even know what I’ll ever do that she would be pleased with. Seems everything thing I do throws her off.” I felt like that was too much detail anyway but maybe it needed to be said.
They seemed to be in shock at what I said. I should probably take my leave now and do something else with my day. Her grandma insisted they packed my food to go, as I wasn’t able to eat it completely. I thanked her and went away. I could still feel Lily’s eyes at the back of my head as I walked out the door.
I hear her grandma asks her if she’s ever been rude to me and why she decided to use her to get rid of me when she has already been bad to him. Her grandma didn’t seem happy about it and even when Lily tried to explain, she didn’t want to hear it.
I enter my car and decide to look for a place where I can chill and also get some beautiful views. I couldn’t get any, so I just started my engine and drove. I passed a place that had rocks around it and a had a beautiful view of the sunrise. I reversed and looked for a place to park. Came down and sat on the floor.
It was beautiful and serene with birds chirping. The early morning breeze, fresh as ever, rippled through my hair and clothes, sending cold shivers down my spine. It was an epic feeling It’s a place where you’d want to go to arrange your thoughts.
I thought about Lily. Somehow, I had hoped what I said didn’t hurt her but make her change her actions towards me. She’s a beautiful woman and her determination and hard work gets to me. Maybe that’s why I keep bumping into her; I feel like we can relate to that.
My phone rings
“Good day Mr Cayden, I’m calling to tell you that your flight has been booked for tomorrow,” My secretary said
“Why so sudden? Can I know why I’m being rushed?” I ask, worried
“Sir, all I can say is that it’s a matter of urgency. You’ll know as soon as you get here”
“Okay, thank you” The phone beeped and I put it back in my pocket.
What’s happening? I hope nothing bad has happened. I don’t know why no one is willing to explain why they need me around all of a sudden and keeping me in suspense. I brought the food Lily’s grandma packaged for me and began eating.
“This is good” I muttered to myself under my breath with a mouth full. Her bakery is the best, I’ve not had any snack as good as this. I should give her some credit. Eating her food and looking at this breathtaking view was the perfect combo; I should do this more often.
I clean my mouth and head for home. Getting home, I quickly pack the few things I came with into my box, getting ready for my trip tomorrow.NôvelDrama.Org copyrighted © content.
I made some popcorn with the help of YouTube. It didn’t exactly come out as it should have but it was okay. Very sugary thought. I decided to do a bit of Netflix and chill with it. Scary movies were nice but I found it difficult to find really good ones cause most of them don’t have a good storyline or good graphics and it never ends! So, I settled for comedy. You can’t go wrong with that. I took a nap after the movie and woke up later in the evening.
It’s 4:14 pm now and I’m on my bed star in at the walls, showing me how far I’ve come from our two-bedroom house that looked like a dump. I’m glad I was able to work my ass off and give myself the life I deserve. The fact that I might not see Lily again disturbed me. or should I go to the shop to see her one last time before I leave? Nah, I’m sure she’s fed up and doesn’t want to see me. Let’s just leave it to fate then. Like my dad would say “Que Sera Sera”
I stand up the next morning, a little bit anxious about the trip. I took my bags to the car and placed them in the trunk. Got back inside the house, ordered pizza and went to shower; I guess it was a good thing I didn’t go grocery shopping.
I matched a white polo on grey joggers and put on my crocs for comfort. The pizza delivery guy came and dropped it. I sat down to eat for some minutes, packed the rest in my car and drove off.
It was a very long drive back. Still tired, I drove home and got a call, summoning me to the CEO’s house for an important meeting. I laid on my couch for about 30 minutes before I stood up and drove over to his house.
The CEO’s house was like a mansion, very big and spacious with a well-tendered garden at the side and a swimming pool at the top floor leaving you an amazing view. I didn’t have much time to observe, so I quickly walked in and met him.
“There’s a problem with the contract,” he said, his face tightened.
