Damage control
Cayden
“Look, I’m really sorry. If I had known she was a fraud I absolutely would no’t have let her into our home. She acted so genuine so I could hardly tell the lies from her” she tried to explain as she supported me but I was barely having any of it, not because I didn’t believe her completely but because the situation has weakened me to my bones and I could hardly think straight anymore “I’m as surprised as you are honestly, how could someone do such a wicked thing?”
“Tell me the truth please, are you absolutely sure of what you’re saying?” I tried to tell myself that it wasn’t true, that this situation was not happening or that it was just a dream. But it wasn’t, I was now living that dream.
“Look Cayden, I have o reason at all to lie to you. I mean, what do I possibly stand to gain” she tried so vehemently to appraise the fact that she was telling me the truth “In fact I had initially had baby monitors, carriers and cameras placed in the house for my personal reasons, if you don’t believe me then maybe you can go through the video storage footages and have a look at the lady for yourself, maybe then you would believe” I was first skeptical and began asking questions.
“Why would you have cameras installed in the first place, did you suspect something?” I quizzed her for questions that I already knew the answers to.This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
“I know it’s going to be difficult to believe me, considering the state you are in right now but I speak nothing but the truth, the lady in question even made sure to get me groceries many times that one and was the one who brought the CEO to the apartment. They had an extensive conversation and the CEO made sure he got the whole conversation on tape” as soon as she made mention of the fact that Steve had gotten their whole conversation in tape, my heart sunk deeper.
I decided to watch the footage that she had emphasized so much on and I was taken aback at my discovery of who was on the footage. It was Brielle, I should’ve have guessed. My ex and who was also the lady I thought was out of my life for good and now come back and done me dirty. My face did very little to hide the anger and frustrating I was currently going through. She noticed I recognized Brielle and immediately gave a tip was going to be a life saver or at least a chance to do something.
“I don’t know it this would be of any help but I still have the number of the lady incase you want to reach her and talk about what has happened” she tried to control the damage that had already been done.
“You do?” I asked in renewed hope.
“Yes yes, here, you can have it” she scrolled to Brielle’s number on her contact list and stretched out the hand that held the phone. I whisked the phone from her hand to confirm the number with the one I had and immediately came up with an idea.
“Hey, you’re going to have to do something for me right now”
“Sure, whatever it is I will do it” she responded in absolutely obedience
“Good. I need you to call Brielle and pretend to want to have an afternoon drink with her at a location of my choice but you would not be going for the date, rather I would go in your stead instead and use the opportunity to confront her” this was the best and only option I had at that point and I was more than ready to bank on it, it was the only way I could get to Brielle and know things for myself.
“Alright I do not know if this would work or entirely know what is going on either but let me give this it a try” She dialed Brielle’s number and to my greatest pleasure, after a few rings she picked the call. They go ahead to discuss details of the date and I calmly whisper the location and time at which I wanted it to hold into her ear and Brielle ignorantly accepts. A miniature atom of smile creeped through my face and I immediately began to get prepared for the drink date.
It was almost two hours after the date had been scheduled and Brielle was already sitted like the pretty little demon she was in the coffee shop. I came into the shop anonymously and even went as far as putting on shades, a cap and completely oblivious cloths that made it almost impossible to identify me but Brielle spotted me. She immediately took to her hills on sighting me but I was about to let her get a way. I pursued her out from the coffee shop and a few blocks down before our distance closed up and I caught her.
“And where do you think you are going, leaving so soon?” She tried to catch her breath but I had barely gassed out as sprinting was something I was quit skilled at.
“Get you filthy hands off me Cayden this very minute” she tried to struggle her way out of my taut grip but to no avail.
“You’re the one who’s filthy Brielle, do you have any idea the degree of damage you caused me?” I began to flare up “you’ve ruined my life Brielle”
“Yes I did and would do it a million times again if I were given the chance to”
