I was getting really tired of their back and forth confrontations. I didn’t even know the person to believe and the person to throw out of my house.
“He’s a casanova, Lily and you shouldn’t be with him. He’s had so many failed relationships and friendships. He’s even broken so many hearts, so how are you sure that he isn’t going to break your heart?” My baby daddy said and Cayden growled at him.
He started moving closer to him in defence and I just knew what was going to happen next.
I am not ready to have two grown men fighting in my living room, so I just screamed at both of them to stop.
“Just stop, you two. Please. Your argument is making me sick. The door is over there.” I said to the both of them and I pointed towards the door, waiting for them to leave.
My baby daddy grinned and he said, “Aa-hah. I told you that you were going to be the one to leave.” He said and he started making fun of Cayden, like I didn’t ask him to leave too.
After he said that, Cayden glared at me, with questions in his eyes. I looked away from him and it was my turn to glare at my baby daddy.
“I was talking to the both of you.” I said and I pointed to the door again.
My baby daddy was really surprised that I was sending him outside too, but he left and Cayden trailed behind him.
When they left, I heaved a sigh of relief and I collapsed on the chair. I was feeling really stressed from everything and I just wanted a nice, long bath alone.
I was about to close my eyes, when I started hearing muffled voices from outside again. I knew that it was my baby daddy and Cayden that were arguing because I could hear them clearly.
I sighed.. again and I went outside reluctantly. When I got there, I saw them growling at each other like two angry lions and when it was about to get really physical, I ran to them and I stood between them, pushing Cayden’s chest with the little strength that I had.
After I saw that they were both okay, I left them and I turned around to go inside without saying a word to any of them. The grunts that I started hearing made me turn back and I saw that they were fighting physically now and I just covered my ears and I screamed as loud as I could.
That stopped the both of them from doing any other thing and they just started staring at me like I was the one acting crazy.
“What’s wrong with the both of you? Why are you both acting like two naughty toddlers? Don’t you have anything to do?” I said and I let out a very loud hiss.
“He started it.” The both of them said at the same time and then, I knew that I was right about the both of them acting like toddlers.
“What’s this? Wow, I just want the both of you to leave. Now.” I said that and I looked so serious. I was really tired of their company, they were both confusing me with their ‘theories’ about how they are both terrible people and I’m not even ready to hear any more of that trash.
“Okay, fine, but you should have this.” My baby daddy brought some papers from his jacket and I saw that they were pictures that he showed me earlier and some papers that had some conversations on them.
Before I had the chance to even protest, Cayden started insulting him.
“Shut up, man. Lily, you shouldn’t listen to him. Now that I’m back, I’m going to make sure that our child would never suffer from gossip or from people who didn’t know about our love. I love you, Lily. I really do.” He said and he moved closer to me. When he got to me, he took my hand into his and he said, “Don’t you feel okay with me being here? Don’t you miss me? We could be a happy and full family. You just have to make that happen by telling me your decision.”
I looked over to Cayden and I saw that he was staring at us with both anger and sadness in his eyes.
I quickly looked away from him because I was suddenly feeling bad about the fact that he was sad.
My baby daddy noticed what just happened between Cayden and I in a few seconds and he started speaking again.
“You shouldn’t listen to Cayden, he’s only known for destroying relationships. I found out that he sleeps with his friends’ spouses and he also sleeps around with different people. I’m sure you’ve caught him with someone before, haven’t you?” When he asked that, I remembered when I saw him coming out of his house with a woman when we were meant to talk about his second date.
“What the heck are you saying? You shouldn’t listen to him.” Cayden looked shocked and I’m sure that he realised that this man had also dug in on him too.
My baby daddy left and Cayden tried to explain to me about everything, but I didn’t even want to hear anything concerning Cayden. So, I started going inside.
When I was about to do that, Cayden dragged me back and he pushed his own evidence in my hands. He shouted at me to at least look at it.
I pushed him off of me and I asked him if he really had a baby coming and if he was really married.
Cayden asked me that if he was really married, why would he take me to his events and all those many fruitless dates?
I wasn’t ready to listen to everything that he had to say, so I just told him to stop talking. He was trying to make me feel guilty about everything and I wasn’t ready to do that.
“All those dates and dinner parties mean nothing and I mean nothing to me, so you should leave.” I said that and I got to my door before he called me back.
“Lily, wait. Did you mean that?” He said and I put on a serious look.
“Yes. Yes, I did.” And with that, I shut the door in his face.
