Chapter 1258: Luring The Snake Out
Chapter 1258: Luring the Snake Out
"Great! I've been wanting to go out and have some fun!" Juliette exclaimed excitedly upon hearing Chris Shelby's suggestion.
Esther, however, asked worriedly, "Darling, aren't you afraid of that assassin from last night?"
The memory of the assassin still haunted Esther. The killer's disguise was so perfect that she had posed as her aunt without Esther noticing. If Chris Shelby hadn't seen through the disguise, the consequences would have been dire. Now, with the assassin still at large, Esther was concerned about going out.
Chris Shelby smiled and said, "It's fine! I plan to lure the snake out of its hole. Once the assassin shows herself, I can capture her."
Hearing this, Esther nodded. Since Chris Shelby had a plan, she decided to trust him.
Chris Shelby then drove Esther and the others away from the villa. Since Harold Jefferson had no plans for the day, Chris invited him along.
As they left the villa, a security guard at the gate flashed a strange smile.
East Coast University.
Chris Shelby parked the car at the entrance. With nothing else to do, he decided to take Esther and the others to explore East Coast University, which was located within East Coast City.
Harold Jefferson called his sister. Soon after, Marie came out of the school.
Marie saw Chris Shelby and asked happily, "Mr. Shelby, what brings you here today?"
Chris Shelby smiled and said, "We're out shopping and thought we'd visit you too. By the way, let me introduce you to my wife, Esther!"
Pointing to Esther, Chris continued. Esther smiled at Marie and said, "Hello, are you Harold Jefferson's sister? I'm Esther."
Harold Jefferson added, "She's also our company's boss."
Marie was surprised to learn that Esther was not only Chris Shelby's wife but also her brother's boss. She suddenly felt a mix of nervousness and inexplicable disappointment. "Hello, I'm Marie," she said awkwardly.
Just then, Juliette stepped forward and said, "Hi, I'm Juliette!"
"Hello!" Marie responded.
After introducing themselves, Chris Shelby said with a smile, "Marie, why don't you show us around East Coast University?"
Marie nodded and replied, "Sure! Our school is hosting a basketball game today. How about we go watch it?"
Juliette excitedly shouted, "Yes! A basketball game sounds fun!"
Being someone who loved lively events, Juliette couldn't wait to join in on the excitement. They followed Marie to East Coast University's sports field.
The sports field was huge and could accommodate tens of thousands of students. It had a soccer field and several basketball courts. As they walked around East Coast
University, they saw vibrant college
students everywhere.
Seeing this made Chris Shelby feel nostalgic. At thirty years old now, he couldn't help but reflect on how quickly time passed.
When they arrived at the sports field,
it was packed with people-at least ten thousand-all there to watch the basketball game. Seeing such a
large crowd made Chris Shelhet
frown He wasn't just out for a casual stroll; he intended to fure out the assassin Fantom. With so many people around, any unexpected incident could turn chaotic.
Juliette then shouted, "It's so hot here! Can we find a cooler place to sit?"
Chris Shelby looked around and spotted a pavilion nearby. "Let's go sit in that pavilion," he suggested.
They moved to the pavilion where it was much cooler and offered a good view of the entire sports field.
Just then, a group approached them led by Bobby-the same Bobby who had been taught a lesson by Chris Shelby previously.
"It's you!" Bobby snarled upon seeing Chris Shelby. Being defeated by Chris last time was the biggest humiliation of Bobby's life, especially in front of the woman he liked.
With a cold expression, Bobby said, "This guy dares come back to East Coast University? This is my turf! Today I'll teach him a lesson he'll never forget."
He turned to one of his lackeys and commanded, "Go get all the members of the boxing club!"
"Yes!" The lackey nodded and left immediately.
Bobby glared at Chris Shelby with a sinister smile. "You're asking for trouble today! I'll show you what happens when you mess with me."
Chris Shelby responded with a
disdainful smile. Honestly speaking,
In
he didn't consider Bobby worth his time. After all, Bobby was just a college student while Chris was Amerosia Primus-a title far above Bobby's standing.
Marie looked at Bobby with disgust and said angrily, "Bobby, what are you doing here?"
Bobby grinned foolishly and said, "Marie, I really like you. Will you be my girlfriend?"
Annoyed, Marie replied impatiently, "I've told you before; I don't like you! Why do you keep bothering me?"
"You..." Bobby's face darkened as Marie rejected him again.
Harold Jefferson stood up angrily and shouted, "Get lost! Stop harassing my sister or you'll regret it!"Property © NôvelDrama.Org.
Bobby ignored Harold Jefferson and continued pleading with Marie. "Marie, be my girlfriend! No one will dare bully you at East Coast University if you're with me!" Seeing Bobby persistently harass Marie made Chris Shelby's face darken with anger.
"Bobby," Chris said coldly. "Didn't I teach you enough last time? I warned you not to bother Marie again. Seems like my words went in one ear and out the other." Chris had warned Bobby before not to harass Marie again. Yet here he was doing exactly that-clearly disregarding Chris's warning entirely!
